I became 10 years younger while listening to this 🔥💯
And now you're 12
Damn, you just missed the height of metalcore then. It was a pretty cool time.
@@4stringed 2
20 for me
For real
Honestly this sounds like what would happen if All That Remains and As I Lay Dying had a baby and I'm here for it.
All That I Lay
@@saidoterodiseno all that I lay is your mom
All remains dying. A bit depressing maybe haha
All That Lay Dying
@@Habixus MAN someone pls make this real
I could definitely hear the influence of Killswitch, Trivium, As I Lay Dying, and Bullet For My Valentine all over this. Good Stuff!
I think maybe because they are metalcore bands 🤔 that’s may be why this sounds related . I could be wrong though
@@noompsieOGyeah,but this is old school Metal core listen to modern metalcore and you will hear a big diffrence
Alternate Title:
"If *Killswitch Engage & As I Lay Dying* had a baby"
you forgot Trivium, it was a treesome, lol
That mix is insanely good 10/10
This video literally saves me from listening to endless djenty rhythm and brings me back to the good ol' days! Loving it!
mans just uploaded a Bullet for My Valentine song and expected us not to notice
"Yes officer, he’s doing it again"
God this style of metalcore was the best 😭 wish more bands still wrote music like this today
Check out Call Of The Awakened then!
@@mikehawkisb1g dude. Fucking amazing suggestion. I just listened to a little bit of them and they’re great
Check out Dying Wish!
They do, that style is actually not metal core but gothenborg metal and melodic death metal, back from mid 90s.. for some strange reason people nowadays just believe that it is metalcore?!?
@@VargVinter I know it originated there, I LOVE melodeath, Character by Dark Tranquility is one of my favorite albums and In Flames are my favorite band of all time, their 90s output is legendary. The torch was passed on to early-mid 00s metalcore and that's what I grew up with so although melodeath pioneered it, when I was a young'un, I heard it first in Killswitch Engage and the like, and I want more of it! We're getting a Melodeath Resurgence as we speak so I don't need to wish for that!
You know what makes it so cool? That while you're kind of making fun of the genre's redundant character, the song is actually really good and I'd be happy to put it on my daily playlist :) Laughing and headbanging at the same time, cheers
Man at 29 years old hearing these takes me back to playing in horrible bands just trying our best to rip off TDWP and Miss May I back in 2009. God I miss those days!
I love the riffs because they are influenced by melodic death metal.. Legendary bro!
isn't oldschool metalcore the influence for melodeath? though melodeath riffs are basically just the first two riffs of this video, the gallop and no breakdowns
@@GATHUGHDxD Nah, melodeath came first, and was more inspired by Iron Maiden-style traditional heavy metal. This 2000s style metalcore was in turned super heavily inspired by melodeath's style of riffing, especially Slaughter of the Soul. It's just mixed with more groove, breakdowns, and somewhat more hardcore style drumming
@@SuffyANX that album is early 90s not 2000s
@@RyanREAX Slaughter of the Soul is, but the metalcore that it inspired is primarily from the 2000s, which is what I was referring to.
@@GATHUGHDxDthere's a reason why the genre is called Melodic Metalcore (metalcore influenced by melodic death metal) - all the old big metalcore bands of 2000s were this
Amazing playing and riffs. Love it
You may have accidentally written the greatest metalcore song ever!!!
As an old school metalcore fan, I strongly approve of this. Your attack and tightness are top tier and really bring power to the riffs. It somehow sounded original even though you were spoofing the tropes that we all love and grew up with. Killswitch and As I Die Laying would be proud \m/
Dude. That was the best song I've ever heard. Cliches or not!!!! Pack more cliches in next time. Plus, I learnt some stuff.
This just illustrates the beauty of metalcore so well. Metalcore will always have my heart and will be my favorite genre of all music. Thank you sir for this excellent video.
Oh and was this is a Drop C?
Love it, would love to see melodic death metal version (ehem old skool inflames and Swedish melo death metal bands)
usually videos like this are a little *too* stereotypical (while still entertaining), but these riffs felt really original, and genuinely slap. great vid!
That guitar absolutely rips in Drop C
This takes me back! Please can you tab this :) riffage is sick. What tuning is that in? 🤟🤟🤟
Drop C
@@lebarak69 Thanks dude!
@@lebarak69 the only proper tuning for metalcore
We need tabs for this \m/
I love it , you usualy use 8 strings for improve, make mkre rift bro in 6 strings any Drop.
loved this! Metalcore just hits different
Ебать это охуенно, других слов просто невозможно подобрать! :D
Speak English you fuckwit, that was nice tho ;)
Согласен, пиздато
you said it best brother
Metalcore will never die! 🤘
It's a RG1570 upgrade??
this is so sick..sorry for silly question but where do you find the bacing tracks (drum and bass)..thanks..ou earned a new sub
i just write everything, drums are programmed midi, bass and other guitar layers i record by myself
Real metalcoe = hardcore punk agressivity with metal technicity
Metalcore is goood, mkay?
What model pickup does the guitar have in the bridge?
Dimebucker
@@checkthedist thx!
im new to this and i would love to learn..can ALex confirm this is DROP C?
thanks!!
Yes, drop C.
Metalcore is the best genre, modern or 2000's
Its remind me for several band like MISS MAY I, VEIL OF MAYA in 2007's
2:41 started headbanging automatically, lol, this shit gets me all the time when it comes in any song. Old but gold, eh
10/10 would listen again. Old school metalcore is SUPER trope-y, and I am here for it
0:45 is my type of style playing stuff like that is so smooth
0:24 sounds just like the riff from "Milano" by Russian Circles :D
The rhythm yes, but the riff from Milano is not as melodic
Poor quality indeed.
Hey Alex, great video! I love the riffs and your play. What is your Ibanez model/year? And what is your tone setup if not a secret? I would love to see those riffs on tabs, have you thought about this?
looks like RG 1570
Much respect as always 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Absolutely mental bro, first time viewer and I’m watching every video now🤟🤟
This brought me great happiness. Thank you for the awesome playing and mix. This took me right back to highschool.
As i lay dying, bleed from within, lamb of god, parkway drive, arch enemy. Cod4. Old.
That was fuckin awesome. No solo needed, at all. Would've ruined the vibe of the song. Shred!
Anyone knows what guitar this is?
Probably ibanez prestige RG series, but anyone knows it exactly?
F*cking !!!!!!! Sh!znit
Ibanez make some stellar guitars.
This is literally just a song from Killswitch Engage's next album.
tabs please!
If you told me this was an As I Lay Dying side project with Architects I'd believe it.
Always perfect and brutal my friend 🤘
What I don't like about the genre is that for example, all Trivium songs just mesh together with this style in such a way that nothing really sticks out or sounds new. It's all just this regurgitated formula forever and ever. It got boring very quickly to me so I moved on years ago.
I just bought this guitar, but i dont really like the tremolo. Did you block the tremolo bridge on the guitar? If so, how?
Amazing playing!
Also, I really like your tone. Maybe you could do a video explaining how you record something like this?
Thanks man. Great vid
As I Engage The Killswitch 🤘
I want this to be an actual band lol
All art is stolen from somewhere else. Dave grohls beats ripped from funky Motown for eg
This is why I stopped playing metal. Everyone has already written literally everything in metal.
Drop B?
Can't say the idea of the video is new, but the sound is amazing
Okay do the same but explain the drums. No one ever talks about the drums in these vids. I wanna hear the different fills and rhytms with the descriptions so I can get a better feel for em.
My favourite genre of metal. I have Killswitch Engage(Howard Jones era) to blame for that.
How many people feel personally attacked? Lmao not me because metalcore is recycled trash
Hei Alex, respect! It would mean so much to me if you could provide tabs. great work!!!!
Anybody know any songs/bands similar to these riffs
I don't like metalcore, but Killswitch Engage's first two albums were awesome. Life to Lifeless has brutally tasty riffs from top to bottom.
Oh god now i know exactly why I don't like a certain kind of metal and what it's called
LETS F GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DUUUUDEEEEEE, cant say it in words how much i liked this XD
I became 20 years younger while listening to this. Nice one! Some of this reminded me of Dark Tranquillity.
Strange Chords Outro is stuck in my head 😅
These are some sweeeeeet riffs. Im recording my metalcore album right now. It's like 1999-2013 metalcore.
This is REAL metalcore!!! Not tha modern shit
Even though I like modern metalcore it just doesn't hit the same as the old stuff does
Can you put this on custom forge pls so I can learn on rock smith pls and thanks 🙏
I think metalcore is more metal than deathcore
Welllllllll, uh, this isn't really "Metalcore". Before the media completely mislabeled what the New Wave of American Heavy Metal was (probably because stealing the name Metalcore from "Metallic Hardcore" was easier than saying NWoAHM), the bands in the NWoAHM took melodic death metal, and distilled it to be less heavy. So, the foundation of their songs was solidly metal.
Deathcore is a bit of a combo genre. Deathcore takes Death Metal riffs and combines them with various Hardcore techniques, such as the classic "Hardcore breakdown" and things like Hardcore Punk drumming. Deathcore is probably more on the side of Metal than the side of Hardcore. But it's definitely got a lot of Hardcore influences and usages.
Give me at least 5 new bands that do "the gallop drive" in 2022 and then I can die in peace 😄
Amazing Job 😮
How'd you get this tone? Please say Helix haha
This sounds insanely HAAAAARRRRDDD!!!!!!
Please join to any metalcore band 🔥🔥🔥
My....My neck hurts a little bit but thankyou.
How long have you been playing for man??
just want to ask what is no stereotype in metalcore if all that playingforms are "Cliches" ?
Left subscribtion there becauseyour playing and production is fkn sick
To be honest I'm not an expert in this stuff, i make this type of videos just for fun and i don't think that anyone should take it all seriously.
how the heck do you set up that floyd to be in drop tuning???
Hey man, could you possibly have any tabs for this? I really want to learn it but I suck at learning visually
I didn't write the tabs for it, sorry
Freaking nice
Awesome, reminded me of a caliban song
The power off guitars skill
Pretty sure this is just a lost ATR track that never got released....
2:02 this is just Black Dahlia Murder
Omg I just wanna be like you 🥹
I need something that sounds similar to 1:25 😭
sounds awesome bruh
The model name of the ibanez guitar ?
Nothing funny here you rock for real 👍🤘
This is sound very хорошо)
please make a song on the mellow chord 🔥🔥
Nice tight snare, kinda like from Frail Words Collapse with a little less ring to it. Great riffs either way, good for moshing
That's badass 👌
Dat guitar tone. Where from?
Brutal and Delicious…
It chugs so hard I plan on going upstairs and copying this by ear. Don’t worry Jamie I’ll make sure my friends know where I got the riff from😂
