With the Xbox 360 digital store closing this year I thought it'd be cool to talk about some of the awesome Xbox 360 games that keep me coming back even in 2024! Wish both Sniper Ghost Warrior 1 and 2 were available to play on current consoles. Since Ghost Warrior 3, the franchise has gone in a direction I don't care for. Ghost Warrior 1 is basically an unofficial adaptation of the awesome 1990s Sniper film with Tom Berenger & Billy Zane.
@thegamethrifter, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 1&2 aren't bad. But I liked the 1st three better. They were clearly trying to copy the recent Hitman games but as a sniper. But they don't let you choose what factions you work for when you literally play as a paid assassin now. Why...

The Chronicles of Riddick Escape From Butcher's Bay and Dark Athena need to be rereleased for both current consoles and pc. I recently found out we're finally getting a 4th Riddick film to hopefully wrap up his story. Get on this and a Darkness 1 remaster, Nightdive. Would love to see X-Men Origins Wolverine Uncaged Edition ported too. Didn't care for what I saw of the PS5 Wolverine leaks. Other than graphics, Hugh Jackman's game had better gore/dismemberment.
Riddick games were awesome! So I jumped at the chance to play more to do this video! Wolverine Origins is fun, I used that in my PS3 video a little bit.
Loved Metal Gear Rising Revengence. It was so so hard, but that was good thing about it. Parrying was a pain but once you get used to it, you will want to replay the game, especially fighting that Samurai, forgot his name. Btw Blade Wolf was a pain to beat

I appreciate it! I have a huge collection that I love to go back through and play. It's why I'll never get rid of any of the games I've bought. Since there's not 100% backwards compatibility, I still use my older consoles to play games, and believe it or not, I still have shrink wrapped games from the 360 era that I haven't gotten around to play yet! @thegamethrifter not a problem and I too have a few shrink wrapped games I've not got round to yet but that's the beauty of having the consoles and the discs, I'm 62 and still collecting/playing and for a long time to come too 👍🏻

I've played Ninja Blade and Amped 3 before and will definitely be getting it. I never played Medal Gear Rising Revengeance but I've seen gameplay of it on RUclips. I grew up playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2, fun times!!! Dead or Alive series is just fucking amazing!!!
I’ve been buying lots of digital 360 on my series x - lost odyssey, blue dragon, first four gears games, bejewelled 2 & 3, Crackdown… what a banger of a generation that was - I remember my partner and I were gobsmacked when we first turned it on and the writing was in crystal clear 720p (on our “huge” 26” Samsung flat(ish) TV! lol) Then I put on Perfect Dark and that was me hooked on multiplayer (my first ever multiplayer- we weren’t yet online at home in our OG Xbox days and we got the internet deliberately for the 360s launch). Well that was a stoned nostalgia waffle. Great vid! Thanks for taking me back 🫡

Excellent list! Agree with pretty much every game on the list. Reminded me to play some of them and to re-play others. It's a shame Alan Wake American Nightmare wasn't included on disc of the Xbox One remaster.

Great video, the 360 generation has such incredibly strong games I am always going back to that console. To anyone out there who love Blur, you should also check out Split/Second which is another spectacle racing game that is really cool. Edit: The last time I played Bully I couldn't stop yelling "THATS MY PURSE I DONT KNOW YOU"

I copped a 360 slim for 65$ back in july last year, instantly boight saints row 1&2, the saboteur, fable 2, crackdown 1, batman arkham origins definitely a good game im glad to give a chance playing gta 4 and expansions give me hella nostalgia
I loved blur. If I recall correctly, I played the online beta with my brother since we each had our own Xbox. I never got the full game. I miss this generation because you can have really fun memories even with demos. Same with Split/Second. I played the online demo without getting the full game until like 2018. Like how I didn’t get Skate 3 until 2020. My friends would always just play the online Skate 3 demo for hours, having to reinvite each other since the demo was timed. Definitely some of my best memories on demos/betas.

Really great video list! How would you recommend buying Xbox 360 games? I’ve seen eBay listings that allow you to buy certain games. Are those credible I’ve never used eBay for video games purchases I’m not looking to start an entire collection but would like to get some games since I missed out a lot on 360 games. What are some ways to get 360 games cheaply? Because a lot of places in my opinion overprice them declaring them “retro.”
I appreciate it! I buy 360 games whenever and wherever I can honestly. Pawn Shops are a good place these days, online is great, I've bought many from eBay in the past.
Good games! Bully is backwards compatible, I play it on Series X! Enslaved Odyssey to the west is one of my favorite 360 era games, it is based on the same book as Sony's Horizon games, and is backwards compatible, it's held up really well. It was one of the first mo-cap games, featuring Andy Sirkus from LotR movies. Definitely worth a playthrough.
I remember I got sonic unleashed at the store a few years ago and my dad had bought me the game, and we had dominos pizza, and we had a guy's night. It was so fun
Xbox one x does great with both-the backwards compatibility and some new titles.You can even play 4k on it. So smooth, budget and becomes and absolute beast once you plug an external ssd in (yes, unlike the series s/x, x1 allows players to use third party external or internal ssd drives.10/10 from me, thanks for the video, the im gonna add some of the gems to my list
My son gave me his old 360. So I went out and got a load of 2nd hand games. I like racing games and picked up Blur. It is amazing. Some racing games the corners are very hard to handle. Blur lets you bounce off the bends. It does slow you but rarely stops you. I have got and Xbox One now too. I have GTA 5 on both. I can't believe the 360 only has 512mb of ram. The Xbox one has more detail, but not much. The 360 is nearly 20 years old now. Great little machine.
My favorite game is video chapters, lol. Nice video but chapters or a least putting the game title on the screen would be nice as I missed the name of several games and had to rewind to find when you said it.
@@thegamethrifter Cool! Is it a lot of work to add chapters! I assume you do that after you upload the video to youtube. That would kind of suck because if you need to re-upload a video, you’d probably have to add chapters all over again.
Great video. Definitely missed a few of these. Is Duck Tales still available to download? I thought it was delisted? I have it on the Wii U and PS3, but wouldn't mind picking up for the 360. The 360 is probably my favorite console of all time. Growing up I mainly played the sports games, but it wasn't until I got the 360 that I really got into gaming. I think the achievements were a big part of it for me. Especially when I had a buddy at work who would achievement grind with me. We would at least once a week head to best buy and pick up the games that CheapAssGamer said were on sale just so we could grind achievements. I can go on, but I think I need to go fire up the 360!

I know they did "remasters" on PS4/Xbox One, but I think those might have been pulled digitally as well. I hope Microsoft can bring these back and fix the license issues . @@countgrammar04
I used to play the shiiiiiiiiit out of amped 3. There's a snowboarding game on Xbox One/series and it's kinda like skate where you use the analog sticks to control your board and body, I don't remember the name of it but if you like snowboarding it's definitely worth a try.
I liked Blur. Shame its so hard to get some games. I cant believe that I own Forza Motorsport 2 on a disc and still can't play it. lol I LOVED that game. Bully too, I actually just got that last year.
The problem with racing games and not being backwards compatible is they have licenses for music, cars and even parts. So those usually run for 4-5 years. Unless it's hardware backwards compatibility like from Xbox One to Xbox Series X, you need to renew the licenses.
Darkstalkers resurrection. Get it before it's gone forever. I Also recommend: Vanquish Hard Corps. Uprising Phantom breakers SF3 Online edition. Good luck and have fun
Did you mean Phantom Breaker Battlegrounds? If you did, unfortunately, that game has already been delisted. I think it got delisted sometime last year. I know there are other Phantom Breaker games but the one that was in the arcade section is gone.
Ideally both, but I guess it depends on what kind of games you prefer. Halo, Gears, Fable and Forza are awesome on Xbox 360. Uncharted, The Last Of Us and Metal Gear Solid 4 are awesome on PS3.
I used to love playing the Olympic game on the original NES I'm not sure if it wasn't Olympics but it had the archery, the running, skeet, shooting, etc. Anything like that on the newer consoles. Also? I have an Xbox 360. Maybe something on there?
Maybe Doritos Crash Course 1 and 2? Those are free arcade games. There's some Kinect games like Kinect Sports 1 and 2 that have games like that, but you need Kinect.

I never condone that because if you ever want to connect to the internet you'll get banned. I still play some 360 games online and prefer collecting my games physically.
kotor 1 and 2, battlefront 1 and 2, jedi outcast, fear 1 and fear 2, fuck fear 3 in its bootymilk, gears 1-3, l4d 1 and 2, orange box, borderlands, arkam origins since no remastered ever happened😢, sonic adventure 2 runs smoothest on 360 hd 60fps butterly poptart milk smooth.
@thegamethrifter Crimson Alliance is not a full game. The free version is just a glorified demo. You need to pay for the character pack to play the full game. Also, World of Tanks is delisted on the Xbox 360, and the servers have been shutdown

Bought one of these off eBay with like 5 games I was looking for and my old turtle beaches. I love my PS5 but this new generation of games is starting to blow and I want to play my old games I did back in high school. Looking forward to seeing how the once powerhouse of home consoles holds up today. Ninja Gaiden 2 is first, then the Darkness 2 and so on.

The multiplayer was wicked good too. First time I ever played 1 vs 8 (the one being riddick and the eight being soldier fodder).

You can still buy the physical discs and they're not very expensive actually.

I know they did "remasters" on PS4/Xbox One, but I think those might have been pulled digitally as well. I hope Microsoft can bring these back and fix the license issues . @@countgrammar04

I used to play the shiiiiiiiiit out of amped 3. There's a snowboarding game on Xbox One/series and it's kinda like skate where you use the analog sticks to control your board and body, I don't remember the name of it but if you like snowboarding it's definitely worth a try.

I liked Blur. Shame its so hard to get some games. I cant believe that I own Forza Motorsport 2 on a disc and still can't play it. lol I LOVED that game. Bully too, I actually just got that last year.
The problem with racing games and not being backwards compatible is they have licenses for music, cars and even parts. So those usually run for 4-5 years. Unless it's hardware backwards compatibility like from Xbox One to Xbox Series X, you need to renew the licenses.

Did you mean Phantom Breaker Battlegrounds? If you did, unfortunately, that game has already been delisted. I think it got delisted sometime last year. I know there are other Phantom Breaker games but the one that was in the arcade section is gone.

Ideally both, but I guess it depends on what kind of games you prefer. Halo, Gears, Fable and Forza are awesome on Xbox 360. Uncharted, The Last Of Us and Metal Gear Solid 4 are awesome on PS3.

A version of it did! I never played that one though, so I'm not sure if it was exactly the same.
I used to love playing the Olympic game on the original NES I'm not sure if it wasn't Olympics but it had the archery, the running, skeet, shooting, etc. Anything like that on the newer consoles. Also? I have an Xbox 360. Maybe something on there?
Maybe Doritos Crash Course 1 and 2? Those are free arcade games. There's some Kinect games like Kinect Sports 1 and 2 that have games like that, but you need Kinect.

I never condone that because if you ever want to connect to the internet you'll get banned. I still play some 360 games online and prefer collecting my games physically.
No you still can connct to the internet it's just not using microsoft servers.
kotor 1 and 2, battlefront 1 and 2, jedi outcast, fear 1 and fear 2, fuck fear 3 in its bootymilk, gears 1-3, l4d 1 and 2, orange box, borderlands, arkam origins since no remastered ever happened😢, sonic adventure 2 runs smoothest on 360 hd 60fps butterly poptart milk smooth.

@thegamethrifter Crimson Alliance is not a full game. The free version is just a glorified demo. You need to pay for the character pack to play the full game. Also, World of Tanks is delisted on the Xbox 360, and the servers have been shutdown

Bought one of these off eBay with like 5 games I was looking for and my old turtle beaches. I love my PS5 but this new generation of games is starting to blow and I want to play my old games I did back in high school. Looking forward to seeing how the once powerhouse of home consoles holds up today. Ninja Gaiden 2 is first, then the Darkness 2 and so on.
