Was able to fix my son's iPad just a moment ago. I sew a lot and was able to use a quilting needle to help me dislodge the broken piece. Thank you so much for your quick and helpful video!
Thnx for the video. I was worried about pin damage doing the digging method so what i did is get two very small flat head screw drivers and push in on the sides of the plug part to put pressure and was able to pull out the broken plug. Took me two minutes. You need very tinny screwdrivers, like the ones that are made for repairing glasses or watches.

Thank you! I used two thin sewing needles and pushed the sides of the stuck piece in. It popped out on its own. 🎉
