    Doesnt the steel wool go into the small cup that comes apart on upper piece?

      I believe it’s not needed, but helps with catching *more* of the oil that would be recycled back into the engine.
      I did purchase one and assembled everything that I could outside of my vehicle, but I haven’t installed it on my vehicle yet. I did put the steel wool in that “cup”, and man, it was a bitch. It is definitely more steel wool than what can fit comfortably. But my stubborn ass was not giving up and after a few tries, I managed to squeeze all of it in. When you go to tighten the cup back on, sometimes the steel wool would get caught in the threads of the cup and prevents you from tightening it any more. Like I said, it’s possible to get all of it in, but it was a pain. Maybe 3/4s or half of it would have sufficed.

      I put the Wool in the Lower Cup and a small amount in the Baffle....I have seen a video where they put a small bit in the Baffles at the top. BTW the Baffle side is the In and the out with no baffle(OUT) goes to the INTAKE

    When running e85 they mainly fill up with water if not kept in a hot location.

      I need to get the caprice back on e85 lol. I take it the heat will just vaporize what water it catches?

    I was looking to buy one for my big block Chevelle. You mentioned a closed system and I’m not sure what you mean. I have a pcv valve in one valve cover and a breather filter in the other. I am thinking with the breather filter, it’s open. Does that mean this catch can will work for me? Thanks!

      I was wondering the exact same thing, I have 6.2L chevy too. If you Tee into both valve covers or only the pcv. I get oil blowby from the breather tube from valve cover that goes to my airbox. Also did you know if your engine is 07-13 GM redesigned the valve covers, the new design prevents the breather channels from getting clogged now. If you have those years look into the TSB or search for the new valve cover.

      You can block off the vent with included plug, so it is a closed system, or add the filter to make it an open system.

    I wounder if the dipstick needs an o-ring around it so vaccuum is not lost. Thoughts?

      @demetriosa7646 7 дней назад

      No it’s a strong vacuum and it seals it perfectly without any o rings

    Hello, are the inlet and outlet directions of the universal oil catch tank reverse? So, are we going to connect the input to the place where it says output, and the output to where it says input?

    • @AP-514

      No, In is in Out is out ???

    • @AP-514
      @AP-514 4 месяца назад

      NO in is IN and out is OUT. The Baffle slows down air and helps filter the oil. Open OUT let’s Clean air go back to intake. If you had the baffle on exit it will Collect oil and sent it to intake
