I grew up in St. Catharines, but now live in Ottawa. I miss Niagara a lot no matter how nice Ottawa is.

Thank you so much for creating this channel! I don't live in the Niagara Region, but I may relocate someday there. A few months ago, my friend and I had supper at the Port Dalhousie Yacht Club on a Friday evening--fish and chips and salad. We enjoyed this--the food was excellent and the server was one of the most personable I had ever met. We loved being right at the water. Lakeside Beach is my favourite beach!

Talk about a trip down memory lane! I grew up in the north end of St. Catharines. My dad liked to move us around a lot when I was younger. We lived in the Grantham Ave/Scott Street; Vine St & Parnell Road; Geneva St & Lakeshore Rd; and the Royal Henley neighborhoods. All those places, including the North End Plaza, were my stomping grounds as a kid and teenager.
Interestingly, the beach in Port Weller that you called Sunset Beach, we used to refer to as Jones Beach. Did the city change the name at some point? Also Interesting to note is that, when I lived in St. Catharines (1969-2001), there were no houses on the east side of the Welland Canal across from Port Weller. There was only the Port Weller Dry Docks and Willis Fruit Market.

Hi Terry! Thanks for checking out my channel. It's always great to hear these types of memories. Obviously lots of changes since you lived here, but also a lot that has stayed the same. The city changed the name to "Sunset Beach" a few years ago (maybe 6-8 years ago, if my memory serves me, right?). And Port Weller, now on the East Side, is booming with many new housing developments. You probably wouldn't recognize it now!

Is it easy to find IT job in St Catharine?

Yes! But it will depend on what type of job or career background you have and what you're looking for.

      Abundance of minimal wage opportunities!

Great place to retire to. Very little sustainable employment in the area, unless your willing to commute to Hamilton or Toronto. Alot of industry has got up and left the area.
