As for the shutter being the most valuable, I don’t know about that but it’s true it’s a good yoyo that’s cheap and plays extremely well. I have a few and they’re my go to when trying to show off or learn a new trick.
I think it was important to show things from a "collector's" perspective as well as the modern business perspective all in one video. I just picked up a 4th Shutter since they were on sale and I think that it was worth that #1 spot because it brings more to the table that just a price tag. Sometimes the value goes beyond a retail price.

We all know the Shutter is good-that's why so many people own one (including myself) so not sure why you're promoting it, especially on this particular video

At the time of this video, and assuming we're only talking about the og shutter and not the other versions that have been released after (wide angle, bi metal, Evo etc.) If over 50 thousand of them had been sold at 44.99 that would be over well over a 2 million dollar come up. For a modern performance driven yoyo that's completely bananas. 🤯 since this video is a few years old now those figures are probably much higher considering the attention yoyoing has had in recent years.
Don't worry about what tricks you "should be doing" every one learns at their own pace. While it may take a person 1 minute to learn a trick it may take another a month or years. As long as ur having fun that's all that matters.
Bought a Shutter and then a Shutter Wide so I can give the former to my Brother. Shutter was my first metal unresponsive yoyo and I love it! On a side note, will there be more trick tutorials videos? I really appreciate the way you break down the steps for newer yoyo players like myself (Many tutorial feels like they are geared towards proficient players)
Bandai Hyper Dragon (Not Yomega). I have piles of them. But I recommend you go hunt now for Bandai Hyper Cluster which was the improved evoulution of the Hyper Dragon. Much better experience.
That was a bit disappointing to watch the whole thing just to figure out it was a plug for his signature yo-yo I wouldn’t mind having one, but I would’ve really like to see more of that guys collection
It has happened to me too, i don’t realy know why. But you If you have not lubed your yoyo it maybe that or If you put to much lube in. There is a chance it is something in the yoyo in that case you should clean it.
For those of you wondering, I looked it up and the real most valuable yo-yo in the world is the Richard Nixon yo-yo with Roy Acuff witch was sold to an anonymous buyer at the Acuff estate auction for $16,029 making it the most expensive yo-yo in the world… so just saying I know he doesn’t own it so that’s probably why you didn’t mention it but you should have at least said what the most valuable one was as seasoned instead of just not mentioning it and doing a shameless plug…
A very interesting, informative and enjoyable video!!! I myself have a small yo-yo collection, about a dozen or so; my most unique one being a Coca-Cola Executive edition. I have liked yo-yo's for as long as I can remember and when I saw the "Spinstar" in the local Coles supermarket I thought "Cool, I will get it to go along with my collection." If I ever meet up with you one day, I will show you this trick I can do called the "Demolition Ball." You know those type that brings down buildings, the yo-yo ends up looking like that. Well, congratulations Gentry Stein on how far you've come. I personally have seen the change of yo-yo's since the early 1970's, wow they're so different but still quite cool. Loop720. Swish the bearing in rubbing alcohol, add a drop of thin lube, cut the strings about 6 inches shorter than stock and get practicing.
