I am an worker at ITV news, that day legit scared me, i set it off since I was in charge of the fire alarms 2012-early 2020 (eight years) And I legit scared the f*** out of Tom.
@@ethanch3011 That's a terrible, terrible idea. No legitimate health and safety protocol would ever "wait for the alarm to see if it goes off". You've got to evacuate ASAP always, just in case. Minutes cost lives in real fires.
@@DanTheStripe Ik but it's TV, and most of these studios are in zones. So if the news studio is in zone C and the incident is in zone a, what'll happen is that there's an immediate evacuation of zone a, with b & c on standby. Whatever happened may have triggered multiple alarms or the original alarm wasn't dealt with within a timeframe so the entire building went into alarm mode.
@@DanTheStripeThe kind of fires you get in that building would be an electrical fire. In the building they have TV Studios on the basement and ground floor and offices on the upper floors so it's not like it would be a petrol fire or a gas fire where the fire will spread rapidly. In a TV studio if there is an emergency alarm the gallery will need to contact the playout centre to say they're going off air rather than just going off air and the channel has no idea. They would need to decide if they will leave the studio, TV Studios are sound proofed and so would have fire doors which would also keep them safe if there was a fire. ITN have an emergency building close buy where they can continue their news programmes if the building can't be used.
Suppose it's a case of as long as it isn't broke... I've never seen this breakdown card before though. Guess it's because it's a newer clip. I need to make myself a playlist of these things and collect them! xD
My cousin austin Said that there was a fire but he couldn’t remember if it was or if it wasn’t he just assumed it was ( austin was 23 when he passed away due to a hart atack his death day was 8/9/18 ( 8th June 2018 ) he shall be missed)
Well at least we know the fire Alarm works at the ITV News Studios

This dude literally waited to finish his report before leaving.. wth he could just leave it to the announcer guy to tell everyone there is a fire
He probably got told to wait so they could verify the alarm

I can hear him apologising
The fire alarm was a false alarm I think
It seems ITV has a fondness for their breakdown music "Into the Dream". They've been using it for as long as I can remember... ten years maybe more?

@@alexarcher910 so sorry to hear your cousin was taken at such a young age. It’s very unfair and R.I.P. to him.
Judging from this report, it seems more likely that they were practising their Duck & Cover routine!
“This is ITV broke at 10” says BBC employees.
Did they have to put the UTV announcer on or was he in London?
