I think the reason she's apologising so much is because new people tuning in won't quite know exactly what's going on. I mean, sure, it's obvious that it's a break in the programming and usually that means a technical difficulty - but that's not for certain. Programming is interrupted when big events happen too (see the death of Princess Diana or the 7/7 bombings) and reassuring people that it's just your bog standard hiccup is reassuring. Even then, sometimes the 'technical difficulty' is... well, not technical. See 1987 when a fire at the BBC required them to cancel the news that was supposed to be on that day (and play it later in the day once the all-clear was sounded and people could return to work). Or she could simply have been told to make that many announcements. We just don't know.
SOSOwner [NO LONGER ACTIVE] No it's pretty much always been live far as I'm aware. The clip is up on RUclips somewhere, and the poor announcer for the clip sounds so very nervous as he's telling people what happened!
Well I remember when I was on holiday in America with my family back in 2001 (I was like about 1 at the time) when 911 World Trade Center crash happened I was in Los Angeles at the time and I remember watching cbs at then the whole screen went black and it kinda scared me and then it just said we were sorry over 13 times
I'm very sorry I watched this video...I repeat I am very sorry I watched this video...I must have linked here due to technical difficulties...I hope to resume my regular viewing as soon as possible...just repeating I do apologise for this!
It's rare to see any more technical issues here in America on TV, but the ones you can find on ITV on YoutTube from only a few years back are a dime a dozen!
I remember being in the caravan when I was ten and I remember the channel being on ITV1 and the announcer keeps apologising every 5 minutes which was eventually beginning to annoy me.
You can always repair it if you have a spare fuse. I once fixed a plug for my pc by taking the fuse from my TV and putting it in the pc plug. It worked.
@jeffrey44 The last issue I saw with a major network was with FOX during The Simpsons in the late 90s. I'm sure there might have been a few more issues -- but I have been watching the ITV ones closely and a lot of them are due to power failure issues. Perhaps that could be it? Maybe the backup power equipment has improved now.
Does anyone have the videos of the actual episodes of Hell's Kitchen UK series 3 with Paul Young? I would love to see series 3. Can you post them? Would be forever greatful!!
It was a street light type ident let me picture this it’s when you do out with your bicycle at night and there’s beautiful butterflies and street lights are on and I think itv 1 logo are supposed to resemble the yellow butterflies now that’s a theory on my end I’m not really sure
I remember this, I was in a hotel room watching it then all of a sudden this came on.I remember one time something similar happened a few years ago on cartoon network,it was deliberate though,It was for rememberence day,the screen went black the an ident with writing on it saying something along the lines of,"the 1 minute silence is happening and we want to look important",it creeped me out like most of these things, one question,Did you edit the music over the ident or was it already there?
I was also in a hotel room iswell when this happened I was on an overnight trip in London (I was in like year 3 or something) we just got back from a pantomime and I was in the hotel room with my friends and we were all just sat on a king sized bed and then when it broke down we were all just sat there staring at it for 7 minutes straight
Seeing this really pisses me off! You just get a picture of... whatever that is that is in the logo there, but 10 years previous, I would have seen the granada logo, others meridian, anglia, central, etc. Possibly even the generic 1989 logo, which still looked better than chavtvs logo today.
I remember this I was on an overnight trip in primary I was in year 3 or something we just came back from a pantomime and I was in a hotel room with some of my friends and we were making drinks of Pepsi and eating and we were all sat on the same bed just chilling and then when it broke down we all just stopped what we were doing and just looked at the telly and just thought: wtf happened?

Wasn't the BBC News pre-recorded back then?
SOSOwner [NO LONGER ACTIVE] No it's pretty much always been live far as I'm aware.

I know, just laying it out for people who were wondering why.
Still, this is one of the longer ones in more 'recent' times. xD

LOL was that your version?
Most tv shows be like
"All we can do rn is play some music"
Then... 10,000 apologies meaning we CANT enjoy the music
"WHERES THE FREAKING TV SHOW?" - Gordon Ramsey
I DONT KNOW,HE DEATH OR SOMETHING ELSE,YEAH I KNOW WE WANTRD THE SHOW BUT ITS DIE
It's rare to see any more technical issues here in America on TV, but the ones you can find on ITV on YoutTube from only a few years back are a dime a dozen!
Man, this is like getting put on hold by your television.
This happened in the STV region ITV & Channel TV but did not affect UTV as they where showing CORONATION STREET at the time this happened.
Lol who watches Corrie in 2023?
Welcome...[CUTS OFF]
Woah!!!! The Itv1 Logo Just Got Up
+Keanu McGee ITS ITV NOW NOOB U MEAN ITV CAPTION
Steve Webb ummm, he mentioned it before the 2013 rebrand
I love his comment " if you equally hate them, sit back and relax" Fail
I love Angus’s deadpan sense of humour!
You knew as soon as the music started it was going to be a long time till anything got sorted.
After 9pm Hell's Kitchen started when....nothing
The screen will be black until the ITV 1 logo
Jumps up and apologise apologise and apologies again
Atleast we get music after those sorrys...
Actually, that's by far the most I've ever been entertained by hell's kitchen.
97channel Donkey.
If Hell's Kitchen did have a technical issue on FOX (network that broadcasts the American version) -- it wouldn't be half as peaceful as this one.
7:33 yes it's back! 😀😀😀😀😀😀
There probably a big fan of technical glitches
00:55 After that, she should've said “just sit back and enjoy the nice music whilst you wait"
Whoops I meant "nice" not "nude"
I like how it took you 2 years to realise 😆
It was kind of scary when the light turned on. It startled me.
when the devils wi fi dosent work
( sorry I just had to make that pun)
What caused the loss of transmission? I did like the music though, very relaxing.
Gordon Ramsay’s face!
I remember being in the caravan when I was ten and I remember the channel being on ITV1 and the announcer keeps apologising every 5 minutes which was eventually beginning to annoy me.
The only time i see difficultys on tv now a days is when I'm on holiday

The technical difficulties of 2007
Angus: welc- Blackness ITV 1 LOGO COMES ME:FUCK SHIT NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! NOT NOW START THE FUCK SHOW
It’s not blocked anymore.
On hold music + person cutting in begging us to not hang up vibes
Instead of apologising for the loss of Hell's Kitchen, just apologise for the whole, dumbed down sorry mess of the show in general.
I want this show to come back againnn with celebs
Yea, yea, yea, only apologies, but LET ME LISTEN THE MUSIC! Is very calm that song, even, is better when are in loop!
Yass, queen?
We're sorry but chef Ramsey's gone mad. We are trying our best to solve this issue.
So this show was live? I noticed he apologised for the technical problems, but I thought Hell’s Kitchen was prerecorded
As far as I'm aware Hell's Kitchen UK is live while the more popular American version is prerecorded.
*creeps out a bit* does the same to me too... especially when it happened on Cartoon Network / Nicklodeon....

@DanZero77
Why is that? Why are faults less common in America?
Idk, i only saw one in my whole life, and it was a very loud color bar. (I live the the Usa btw)

Was that light an ident of ITV back then?
Yeah and like a yellow glow flew around the street lights
It was a street light type ident let me picture this it’s when you do out with your bicycle at night and there’s beautiful butterflies and street lights are on and I think itv 1 logo are supposed to resemble the yellow butterflies now that’s a theory on my end I’m not really sure

The 100th comment
ITV Is Crap. Crap Music. Crap Idents. Crap Programmes.
xD
I don’t think it’s crap because lots of people like it so it must be a good channel right?
like why not at least play some top 40... Am i right?!
James - Gaming & Tutorials they have to pay a licence to use the song resulting in a lot of money being wasted on music not like equipment etc
