Undisputed Qi La La Kungfu Victory Over Disputed Points: Kungfu vs Muay Thai

  • Qi La La had one of the most intense and entertaining matches against a Muay Thai guy. While sticking to Xinyi Liuhe in his Kungfu during the first two rounds, Qi La La eventually goes full wing chun blast in the third round. Despite clearly having the edge in all three rounds, the judges still gave the victory to Muay Thai guy. That just looks so bad, in my opinion. Please let us know what you saw and whether you agree with our commentary. Looking forward to discussing this match verdict.
Qi La La is a Wong Shun Leung lineage Wing Chun practitioner. He started training after seeing the Ip Man movies. After many years of testing his skills, he added Xinyi Liuhe Quan to his kungfu repertoire. Xinyi Liuhe Quan is a distinct and rare martial art, different from Xingyi, with origins in the Chinese military before being passed mostly among Hui communities. It emphasizes internal power, derived from relaxation and correct body alignment rather than brute force.

Make sure to watch the match from Qi La La's angle too. it's in the description. I actually started the commentary using his footage, and maybe I'll put the alternative angle commentary on Fight Commentary Chats. In any case, I think we all need to figure out how this match was scored.

The low kick he is doing to the opponents legs is definitely a kick in Wing Chun.
He swept him off his feet several times already with that move.

Qi la la way more relaxed in his fighting. Using better angles. Clearly won. The judges are close minded, same way boxing judges would rob Emmanuel Augustus of his victories because of his style.

Dudes 200% correct. There is a boxer coming up in 2024 with Emanuels style and he's getting popular and judges finally respect the style. Maybe some da qi lala will be remembered as the trail blailzer we needed and not the hero tradition wanted . GO GET EM QI LALA

No matter what happens, everyone needs to show these guys some respect. People that have never done these kinds of fights cannot understand how hard it is to get into the ring and do these types of matches. A lot of people sit in front of their screens thinking “i can do that”, but they have no idea. This is why i always try to show them the proper respect.

Damn call the cops I just witnessed a robbery.
Interesting exchange at around 1:30 in the first round. I assume that was Wing Chun trapping, but looked like an Aikido blending movement you would see in the start of techniques like shomenuchi ikkyo. Also noticed some of the framing movements Qi Lala used as he closed are similar to how I set up clinches to get close and give myself a position and base of energy to work from when using Aikido against resistance. This was in the 3rd round.

    Wing chun has side kicks
    Fŕont kicks etc
    Hooks as well
But most clubs only really promote chain punching
Sticking hands is a specific training method
    Its not a combat drill
Over focusing on sticky hands is
Like a mma fighter only practising
    Break falls

  • @JasonMitchellofcompsci

I guess it depends on how it was scored. Both were pretty open and ate constant punches. If it is scored by taps to the face it's hard to say. If it's scored by sense of control and cool technique then you are right.

I think the problem is a major bias against wing chun trapping. They refuse to see any strike thrown from a very close quarter distance as a point and most WC strikes are only partially chambered so the result is he pays a point penalty.
    I’ve seen it many times

  • @SS.LiuRyan

  • @Marco-qh7pl

why are you saying that when qi la la switched to more wing chun tecniques got worse? When he got caught with opponent's tee he was executing a circular kick, definitely not wing chun style. During the rest of the fight he stayed very square (typical wing chun stance) and i saw a lot of blocks with hands that are tipical of wing chun. Also sweeps, launched from squared position. The final result is an insult and a robbery.

NO disrespect to the Chinese from China and Hong Kong, but they just don't have that savage in them. if they did, they could become very good fighters. but they just so lack that killer in them.

    • @championboy4782
      @championboy4782 2 месяца назад +1

      ...
      Aite imma put this simply.
Killers get killed by people who play.
      E.g.
      Anderson Silva
      Lyoto Machida
      Wonderboy
'killer in them' only matters where both people unskilled or untested. Neither of which you should be fighting.
Unskilled person, there is no point. You aren't testing yourself.
Untested fighter, is too reluctant to punch and sheds it when they test themselves.
'killer' only counts for the latter, someone reckless enough to hurt another without caring.
Gives them a one up in amateur competitions because their mindset is just a bit more competitive than others.
      This falls off, fast.
Unsurprisingly, having that 'killer' is detrimental unless your skill is higher.
That 'killer' makes you unwilling to learn. Stiffens your reactions. Too linear focussed to really grapple. Too twitchy to think and adjust to opponents.
The myth of a 'killer' or a 'savage' mindset alone being a key determinant in fighting, is something only a person who hasn't fought enough, could say
