Nice video! I think many of us simply forget abut this feature. As for me, I use manly the Adobe Camera RAW open from Bridge. With the latest month Lightrom Classic updates, my computer is overwhelm. It slows down a lot when I try to import and edit too many (like 10-20) raw files. Being quite old, my laptop still feels good with ACR. As far as I know, the ACR hasn't this functionality to create a virtual copy. When I needed it (very few times), I just create another physical copy of my RAW file, or export as jpeg the current editing, continue with editing and export another jpeg file and so on. But I agree that creating a virtual copy is easier.
However, maybe a small question is worth to ask - does the virtual copy is created in your RAM memory? As you said, there is no physical file (nothing new in your files folder) created when a virtual copy is created. So, every single virtual copy is stored in computer RAM? If so, then would be possible that your computer slows down as you create more and more virtual copies.

makes a lot of sense. I don't think its stored in RAM because you can quit LR and shut down your computer and the VC will still be there when you reopen. I believe it makes similar to an XMP file without actually creating a file. Not sure 100% how it works but thats my thoughts.
