Dear Vincent ,from your point of view ,Ma Lin should have been worlds number one.He has been playing more than 30 years.I think, its a mixture of many things basicly talent of the player and the enthusiasm of the people you live with about the game.
ThePerfectionisTT may I ask where did you find such high quality of Ma Long battling Bojan Tokic in 4:13 of your video? I have seen the match b4 that I found it so great but what makes me disappointing is I am not able to find high quality video of it... please kindly help! :D Thank you! It would be better if you have full match of high quality thank you again.
+MyThoughtsBelow Well he's 3 times world cup champion, world champion, 3 times olympic runner-up, everyone knos he's one of the greatest players in modern table tennis... so not really so underrated
One of the best players ever. He must be top5. 3 time world cup winner 3 time world cup runner up/Silver 1 world championship 2 time world championship runner up/Silver 3 time Olympic runner up/Silver medalist. This guy were basically in almost every major final of the 2000s.
China is unstoppable due to the sheer mass of world class players, but other countries can produce world class players as well though the sport might be almost not existent in those countries.
Wouldn't call them world class. When the best foreign players played in the China league, they got smashed by players whose names are unheard of. The only reason that there could be a surprise in the Olympics is that China is limited to send only two players to compete.
+Vincent Tran Well without talent it doesn't matter how much you play you will never be at the top. You can train and get a certain amount of skill, but without a so said "feeling" for a sport you will just never be the best.
Casper XVI yes you do need some talent but, mostly its more about hard works, just look at the chinese players, they are all different body, ma lin is tubby, wang hao a little slower, zjk is slim and fast, ma long is powerful and explosive, xu xin is tall and lengthy, european players admited that in terms of talent they are not worse then the chinese, but the training is not as hard or as long. recreational players can reach world level if they practice every whole day, i wouldn't say theyll be the best but they certainly can play at a high levl Table tennis is not like other sports like basketball, tennis where, certain bodytypes are require to play at the best level, or sports like american foot ball where strength and speed is required, their really is not alot of requirement to play table tennis, you dont have to be able to rally every point, you dont have to have stamina, you dont need to be physically strong.
+Vincent Tran I can concur with not needing too much physical strength in table tennis, as the flexibility of your body is what is more important, but you do need stamina, and by all means, you need talent, a lot of it! A recreational player might become a world class in every sport, if he gives the amount of training and has the talent for it, that's a fact for everything. Training since childhood? Yeah, that might give you an advantage in the feelings of things but it ain't really a major factor. And by talent as i mentioned before, it truly is needed, table tennis might be a sport where you don't really need to move much, but that ony depends on how strategic your are while playing to not move that much, and that's a lot of brains, and a freakish reaction speed to plan everything and make anything go your way since the start. Reaction speed is something that can be honed, but it is an innate talent nonetheless, and in table tennis is a major factor along with your eyesight, because if you cannot see the spin you are frankly screwed. In all sports you need a degree of reaction speed to be able to go against the world, some more than others though, and in table tennis, if you aren't born with a decently high reaction speed, you will never step into the realm of these guys, even if you train until you puke everyday (Which is not healthy) Just that, so long~

@@vincenttheo8841 Otherwise there would be no medals for other counties, just like Olympics 2008.
except chinese domination lasted longer
Didn't like the title, 'cause China will ALWAYS be defeated when playing against other china player. lol
Who is that guy????..... In 6:53
Looked like - Qi
Chen Qi
No
table tennis is not about talent, its about who plays more, and obviously the chinese plays more way more
Vincent Tran Oh really

Just that, so long~
Nope. Talent makes a huge difference when you get to a certain level. When everyone trains hard, talent takes over.
