LatinVFR have finally released their much anticipated A340-300 for MSFS! Though the aircraft is a good airliner prospect for those on console, it does have quite a few deficiencies that make it an interesting product to review.

A tip on the takeoff. Stay on the flight directors the entire time. Once you reach acceleration height and pull the thrust back to clb, then you can start to retract the flaps when you are above the appropriate retraction speeds. You do not touch the flaps until the acceleration height. I dont mean to be rude! Just seeing the flaps come up that early made me jump a bit lol. The flight director pitches up high for you to maintain V2+10 on takeoff, then drops to accelerate later.

If it was an a340-600 I’d have bought it even though it’s not pmdg/flybywire/fenix quality. A340-600 is my favourite plane of all time

The problem is, that if you pay just a couple of dollars more, you can get a PMDG 737-600 and it is much more realistic and just simply better

its overpowered....no way an A340 climb like that..Horizon needs to come to the rescue
No it is pretty accurate tbh. Compare it with longer ranges. I bet you stay. It climbs too slow

I think I can agree with your final verdict. If they can fix the ground handling and the manual flight during approach (that pitch thing you mentioned) it would be a nice addition to the sim. But at the end you get what they advertised.

Thanks for the review. Could I ask you what you're using for weather/environment lighting? The dawn lighting in particular sure doesn't look like default MSFS (correct me if I'm wrong!)

I bought it and I love it. Having a blast with it.
You wonder why people keeping calling MSFS a game. These planes are made for Xbox and Xbox is a gaming console. The fact that we got more planes designed to cater to the Xbox crew says it all.
The other devs are taking their time. There is virtually zero competition for high fidelity aircraft so there no sense of urgency to make one. They know regardless of when the planes come out, people will buy them.

That’s my point to these people. another reason we don’t have high Fidelity aircraft is because developers understand people just want a product that looks good so Why spend all the time and effort into making something high fidelity as long as it looks good for people to take cinematics to post on Facebook.
And the fact that msfs doesn’t simulate anything well, it does feel like a game
I agree, but to be fair, I will say that several people I’ve talked to who now have like, awesome PCs and fly stuff like the Fenix are Xbox converts. So it’s not all bad!
Yes MSFS is a game, a good game, even the FAA agrees with that fact as they do not approve it as a training aid towards any pilot license…only x-plane is approved!
Can you change the sensitivity of this Pitch control? Because with that crazy pitch I don't wanna fly.

You keyed in your flight plan so there was no need to sync it from the efb

Great video thanks. I am so pleased your aircraft made that horrible noise on ground movement. I play on Series X and all but the default A320 make that noise. Sounds like stones flying into the side of the aircraft. It is obviously a 10 second sound in a loop as it repeats over and over. I do hope they update it. Do you know what it is supposed to be, as it really does sound like stone chippings? Thanks again.
Might be more interested when they add Airway functionality but I cant see it coming. I am using the Horizon Simulations variant of their other products so I will wait for them to release an updated version.
It is impossible to land like their a330. At about 50ft the pitch starts going crazy and you lose control of the airplane for a moment.

The steering on this A340 need to be fix,and I think the climbing speed is little bit higher than normal,looks like the trim or horizontal stabilizer was forcing the nose down , In some occasions the horizontal stabilizer looks weird and I was able to change the Kg to Lbs in the tablet or flypat but in the MCDU or ECAM always show in Kg
Cannot believe 4yrs down the line, this aircraft cannot even follow a route.. Avoid like the plague, as it will be nothing like flying a A340

Speaking about the taxi steering the flybywire a320nx has horrible steering and its very hard to take off because the aircraft will go everywhere you don't want it to.
I have the latest update and i always fly that plane so any info on how to fix would be useful.

A Question, is it possible to save and load a flight like with the PMDG 737? In a long haul Airliner that would be very important for me.
when i try to use the efb the screen turns white and the throttle calibrator is off sync like you think your only giving it 30 percent power its jumping all the way to 60 or 80 and this is on all default crafts unless it fly by wire or headwind how do i fix this

Honestly, we’ve got like five months (allegedly) until 2024, but if you’re itching to dive in, you might as well. The game costs basically a good night out at the bar, and you’ll get far more enjoyment out of the sim for your money. Just my .02

For whatever reason, I can not sync my simbrief flight data with the a340, it just says syncing failed and my sim brief id matches

He's most likely using a post-processing application like ReShade for example

Well if its based on default a320 systems, doesn't that mean when ini launces their a320, into being the default - the ini a320 systems, will become the a340's systems?
no it will continue to be based on the asobo a320

This feels like such a weird amount of effort to put in. You add in the efb calculations, importing certain settings, the cabin, etc. and yet have an aircraft which can't support airways?
42$ in Canada. Still not bad for what it is.
Because I couldn't chage Kg to Lbs on the ECAM I did a mistika this time on my flight,always I calculate properly but this flight not really and that is why I run out of fuel and I tought the fuel on the stabilizer wasn't working properly.,anyways I love this airplane and for sure I will buy more LatinVFR airplanes

LatinVFR came out with a HOW TO FLY instruction manual...in it they explained how to steer. Unlike the BLACKBOX aircraft where you can disconnect the tiller you must do fancy braking to steer this bird....NO I DONT like this! The A330's are the same way.... Your videos are spot on, thank you!!!

The altitude callouts are not realistic.☹️
Like Aerosoft, LatinVFR uses recordings from the A320 family.
The A330/A340 family use own callout recordings which sound different.
It sounds deeper and agressive.
Also you would notice that the callout MINIMUM sounds completly different comparend to the A320 family.
Good review, there are a lot of issues or things they don’t seem right. It climbs WAY too fast for an underpowered plane. The GPWS callouts don’t sound like the a340 (it has a slightly different voice or accent). Overall, I think I’ll keep my $42
NAV 1 and 2 lights are the same. One is just for redundancy;)
at least they could change the brakes buttons as there are not the correct ones hahaha
The Autobrake buttons are correct on the A340-300
I will only buy this with the horizon mod it’s such a game changer I really hope they come in and mod it.

Maybe Horizon Sim will bring out an update to make this plane worth it like they have in the past with LVFR.

I would have considered picking it up from simplaza if it had a Horizon mod. With the default systems I wouldn't fly it even if they paid me $25.
I mean if they swapped the avionics with the inibuilds v2 320 it would be awesome

@@HERD599 The fbw one use the default models so maybe easier to implement. Inibuilds avionics look much better
The flybywire cannot be implemented into the base aircraft because if it uses their systems, the aircraft has to be free and open source
@AvApollo The colours are inaccurate and shit (not entirely sure but judging from the fbw colours and fenix a320 colours I'm saying it's inaccurate idk, screens could make a difference)

Oooh yeah, an A340 finally! But unfortunately again nothing I would really be happy with, as I'm used to fly FSLabs A320 in P3d and Fenix in MSFS. I might have given it a chance with an improved cockpit. But they really forbid Horizon to replace it?? OK, that's the killer then for me. That was the only reason I bought their A321neo.

I would like to give you some advice, do not make videos with the simulator at night, it looks like it wants to hide something. On the other hand, the plane does not look very good, it is better to wait for the Aerosoft 330.

So it doesn't sound like the real plane, it doesn't look great, systems are very simplistic, and the flight model isn't realistic either. What are people paying $30 for ? For $30 you can get a fantastic GA aircraft that people can, and do, use for multi engine training... Just saying.
LVFR Need to stop ruining their soundsets, All of the a320 series have been updated with dreadfull soundsets. looks like they have used the same new logic on this... its terrible in my opinion
Hi. May I ask you what kind of soundset problems you have with the A320 CEO? because after the last update I hear extreme weird engine sounds at the outside of the A320CEO when I change the view angle with the camera from front to side and the back. This wasn’t before that update. LVFR doesn’t reply to my post to that at the Forum Website until yet.
@@andreashellas7442 I have seen the forum posts but for some reason LVFR dont accept my registration attempts " saying that the security question was incorrect" . Exactly as you say, the outside sounds like im hearing it on speakers through the walls of the house (muffled and over bassy) and the inside i hear no spool, only bass and a bad ground roll sound. They say some people support the new soundsets but I see no evidence of this... only complaints. also the problems are accross the whole a320 range now from the a318,a319,a320,a321 .

Normally this should be not a big thing to fix it, because before that update it was ok for me but as you say, LVFR sees it not as a problem because customers are happy with that? That’s bad news. I remember that the registration at the forum was a bit tricky. Hope you find a way. The thing is that LVFR is the only company that brings out these Airbus Models for XBox Users with a kind of usable FMC and Miles Tracking in the Flightplan for calculating the Top of Descent. Because of this I bought the A320CEO Models and the A330, but with the A340, i wait til the first big problems fixed, so I hope.

LVFR isn't much of a scam because they make it CLEAR that the systems are mid quality. Also, unlike CS, they make some kind of effort to add realistic sounds and slightly improve the systems. If you say this is a scam, then you don't know what you paid for.
