As an Indian cricket fan, Muttiah has given us lot to cry about in 90s when he singlehandedly defeated entire team. But the man is G.O.A.T, no one can deny that. He is a great bowler and great human being.
@@deepaklegaldeepak So you have more knowledge than ICC who put Muttiah through rigorous bowling action test after protest from Australian team? If you cannot appreciate greatness, do not belittle it. It just reflects badly on you.

Smita Prakash: Muttiah Muralitharan, is most known for his illustrious cricket career as one of the greatest spin bowlers in the history of the sport and not I guess you accidentally mentioned at @ 2:44
Smita Prakash might consider approaching the initial question with a bit more empathy, especially when addressing a legendary spin bowler in cricket who boasts an impressive record of 800 wickets in Test Matches and 534 wickets in One Day Internationals. This record remains unmatched to this day and may well remain unbroken for the foreseeable future. It's highly unlikely that Murali expected such a question to be his first, and this disappointment is quite evident, coming from a senior journalist. To add, these two records are just a small part of the incredible legacy Murali has built in the world of cricket. 2:44
That is exactly the same thought I had. Several questions on the captain, team, team dressing room, etc around the action controversy. Fair enough. But none around World Cup win, 800th wicket, almost breaking Laker's record, England 1998. Such a negative interview was only saved by the charm and grace of dear Murali.

This was an excellent interview and got to know so much about Muthaiah Muralidharan, the greatest bowler of world cricket. Thank you. One small observation. You started the interview on a negative note starting with the controversy with his bowling action and chucking controversy. He’s the highest wicket taker in the world. I expected you would welcome him with great awe about his record and achievements. You certainly should’ve asked about the controversy but not as the first question! Thank you. Australia had Shane Warne, Sri Lanka had Murlidharan and India had Kumble. All the three are greatest players to have played the game and they enriched Cricket and they all played in the same period. What an era was that! I am very fortunate to have grown up watching them play.
