WOW! This commercial made it's debut in 1970! Amazing!
The GI Joes with dark life-like hair all looked like Franco Harris!
Except for the black guy--he looked like Lynn Swan (no beard)
The transformation that began with the toy company Hasbro's "THE ADVENTURES OF G.I. JOE" 1969 sets was brought to a fruition with the 1970's debut of the "GI JOE ADVENTURE TEAM". Although despite of the slight Military overlap created by the Man of Action, GI JOE himself had firmly stepped into the realm of international adventure. The transition may had been a result of unpopularity of Military toys created by public sentiment against The Vietnam War ( November 1st 1955- April 3rd 1975) or may have been an effort to revitalize what toy buyers saw as a stale line. Either way, with G.I. JOE that has a new AT symbol and flocked hair (initially used by British licensee Palitoy), G.I. JOE was ready for Adventure!

I'm not being racist ( believe me ) but I had the black GI joe and the one with the dark brown hair. I had the most fun with them both.
What happened to the man of action? O_o
@ronofontario Me either, but despite having many Joes, I begged for and got the black guy with life like hair he was one of my favorites, and one of the few who pulled his weight! the red haired sea adventurer was a lazy bastard , if there was no sea around he wouldn't do anything! so he ended up dying in mysterious firecracker circumstances!
@jsilence418 my joes died by pellet gun. The funny thing was the GI joes never saved the day. They always got caught lol Oh the memories
