Very interesting interview, Alan Wilder is a musical genius. I love how he name-dropped Barry Adamson (solo stuff brilliant + Magazine + Nick Cave + Visage). When Alan left DM in my opinion they "fell off a cliff". Thank you for the soundscapes Alan.
I have watched innumerable interviews with Alan Wilder online and this is my favourite. He looks happy and he had a lovely house!! Lovely studio to make your music in, Alan, although I know that he does not live there now, but it looks fantastic in this video. I do like Recoil. Come back and do some more, Alan!! Those projects are so interesting. Also, the other interview where he is on The Antiques Show, that is very interesting as well. I hope you didn't sell all your antiques collection, Alan. It was fascinating. I like utilitarian things as well.
Really, no words for how unbelievably good and at the same time criminally overlooked this album is. Maggie Esteps involvement alone makes it an absolute gem.
Very, very unrepresented and underrated artist with his own experimental art-house music style. Thank for your music. Wonder, why there are no any Recoil track at any trip-hop lists. He has his own interesting trip hop style
I always loved Depeche Mode when Alan was apart of it. Now that Fletch has passed, I hope that Alan will work with Dave, and Martin again on some future projects. I used to have two Recoil albums on cassette tape. Great interview. Thank you.
We know he’s uber talented, we know he’s handsome, we know he is articulate, but does he know how sexy he is? British men tend to be like this, I think. I’ve had serious relationships with one. He was smart, successful, handsome and just sexy. But doesn’t think anything of it. Which, made him even more sexy to me. 😁
I agree with you, and so well said. There is a photo of him taken when he was younger, wearing leather and looking to the side - those eyes!!! And he is so nonchalant. Makes you feel like throwing him against the wall and devouring him, and he is so laid-back about it all (such a dream-boat). 💘💥
I am glad he is happy if this is the way he is going. He sounds so confident and positive, good for you Alan. It is the first time I have ever listened to any Recoil music, and it is certainly interesting. I did listen to some of Richard H Kirk's music as well, I am not an expert (classical music only for the past 29 years), but it is all good. Keep up the good work!! 👍💘
I've long wondered if Alan and Dave Gahan ever considered collaborating on Dave's solo projects since I've always felt Alan's issues with DM were largely centered on Martin and in particular, Fletch. Could have been spectacular
@@solidnakehoho5106 Personally, I think it might have been rather sensational. Dave would likely give Alan full control over the sound/arrangement. I'd even be keen to hear a Wilder remix of Dave's existing solo projects
OMG, I found music for my hypnotherapy practices (to the shivers, to the bones). I would like a personal melody, I understand - a crazy dream. Thank you, Alan.🙏 You are a huge talent. From one might say “first meeting”, I remember you before important changes in my life. And, you know, no matter what the “dregs” there is, there is always a happy ending. Looks like there's a new album planned? I'm sure he's super.👍
I reaffirm what I said at the outset, in spite of all the toxicity I received for not liking his former band - he is by far the most outstanding musician of the past 40 years. Up there with Lonnie Liston Smith, Stanley Clarke and others - a stunning musician, and stunning looking man. ❤xxxx
Haven't seen this in a while. You definitely skew toward the dark/moody side of human nature with your music. I think that's what makes it so interesting. Might you be considering re-releasing your material? Or perhaps something new? I happen to know of this fantastic singer who is quite a good songwriter. (wink) Would love to hear a collaboration with DAVE (bet you thought I meant someone else!).
This guy is basically the sound of Depeche Mode, he should have got more credit because the whole atmosphere of their unique sound was so heavily dependent on his musical genetics.
Hi, Alan! Was it about this time that you said: "Love is not how people always say it is, good and easy, love is dark and so should music be"? ruclips.net/video/hDgvvuRXtzc/видео.html
I've never seen this interview and I've known Recoil for almost 20 years. Very informative! :)
He looks so fantastic here. What a voice, what a face, what a genius!
What a man ❤
He's f/n gorgeous
Thank you Alan. Your collaborations with Martin, Dave, Flood, Gareth Jones, Dave Bascombe, Daniel Miller and others will never be forgotten.
Oh, what a nice voice he has, and that accent!! Alan, when will you release a new album? We miss you 😟.
I could listen to Daddy read a shampoo bottle and it would be the best thing ever.
I just love Unsound Methods. It's a killer album. Some of the best electronic music of all time.
This 100%. People don’t realize what they’re missing
Liquid is top for me.
Thank you Alan. I always hear film scores when I listen to your work, such lush soundscapes and compositions.
What a voice! Absolutely sensual! You are a great musician! I love you darling!
Please come to Brazil! We love you!
Still love Depeche Mode but it's just not the same without him. Love you Alan!
Agreed. He made Depeche Mode sound like, well, Depeche Mode.
I've only just recently come across Alan Wilder's Recoil. Absolutely stunning music.
nothing less than a genious, miss his music alot
There is a lot of irony here
@@jonandrewleon what do you mean? i truly admire his work alot, and no doubt his music is missed, DM never been the same without him
Happy birthday Alan! We love you and appreciate your fantastic talent. We wish you a lot of health and happiness ❤️
We miss you Alan
What a great musician! So sad he is underrated.
Shhh…there’s no actual rating system.
Most people won't even come close to understanding his music.... he's the ultimate musical genius.
10:47 and a true Neo is rising...the genuine master of sound. Thank you for this experience Alan wherever you are, whatever you do!

Alan was always a class act as a member of Depeche. I'm glad his classical training and compositions help save the band.

You always have been The bus!!!!!! Your project with Recoil is awesome. We miss you a lot!!!

It's just timeless. Perhaps, one day you'll come back...

We need you Alan! Miss you!

not gonna happen unfortunately :(

He left Depeche Mode because he WAS Depeche Mode. I love them all 🖤🌹
That´s the man. 🙌🎹🎶📀💎

I was surprise that it never happened. Really im curious how it would sound.

A True Genius !
Alan Wilder is my favorite person in this world.
Alan. Your taste is fantastic! ❤️🔥
Please Come to Hamburg! ❤️🔥

Luscious Apparatus is amazing
why are they in a mayonnaise factory

Defined the Depeche sound.
Alan IS Depeche as noone else. But he is much more than it ❤️
I wish the four guys were still playing together. 😔
Epic......
Today we know, DM died after his departure. That is a 100% fact.
1.48 seconds. Martin. L Gore's yellow iconic Knight Gretsch guitar is displayed.

He's just not aware of that but we're married.
