- A sunday morning spent cutting up my front wing (fender) to take a safari snorkel replica, all went well in the end with a bit of adjustments here and there.

Little tip. make sure you wrap your ecu in a tough plastic bag and zip tie. soon you go in deep deep water your ecu will get wet and cut out. found out the hard way doing a water crossing.
Thanks. I saw in one of the landrover monthly magazines a guy relocated his ecu under the dash on his disco. Might look in to this.

@@tougesubaru420 under the bonnet left side where the bottle jack fits under a black plastic cover and also u need to cover your bcu which is under the glove box inside the land rover

Snorkel, Snorkel!
I too installed a cheapo snorkel. The air entry did not have drainage channels. Looks like yours is similar. If you get rain in there, it will not drain out, it will go int the air box and bugger the filter.
You also need to seal the pipe that goes into the air box, as well as the holes and the duck bill valve.
As for depth and the ECU. I have been through 800mm deep water and the ECU was fine. The air filter was sodden!!
If I had to do it again I would spend a bit more and get the southdown snorkel. All in all it wasnt too bad, if they only made a decent template it would be so much better.
@@deanshortland7194 I'd buy the Safari. They are bloody expensive. The wing mounting bolts are off set. Your and mine can have a tendency to wobble.
My Disco 2 has a factory fitted snorkel, and it looks identical to your cheap as chips E-bay one.
I bet there's a massive price difference between them.

Why do your door cards have sheep fur on them?
I got the the roof rack from autorack uk. They don't actually do one for a disco only for a defender which is tad too wide. I ordered one for a vauxhall combo and just mounted it to some roof bars.
Door cards and headliner is trimmed in the van liner 4 way stretch carpet as it's easy to work with.

Hey mate just wondering if your A piller bracket fitted first try because mine is a bit to thick , any recommendations?
I did the A pillar bracket last. I had to push mine in to place to drill the holes for rivets. No other issues.
If yours is too thick I would try sanding back with a flap disc to thin the material out.

They are +75mm from monster 4x4.
Do you know what size the silicone hose is? Can’t seem to find it on bro rovers website
Hiya. I believe bro rover is no longer in business. There was a guy on Facebook James Darton doing them. Search on discovery 2 owners. I can't remember the size but I belive around 85mm
