  • Since the weather has been rather rainy lately, I rummaged among my old material and found this ride to Slovenia from last September. The weather was calm and warm and pleasant and mild. In the beautiful early autumn mood you could feel that nature was already tired but still having most of the power of the summer.

This video provides some real-world data on camping/bikepacking with an e-bike and charging it with a solar panel that you can carry with you. I refer to it as lazy camping since there is absolutely no rush involved. There are no hard-set targets; the only goal is to have fun and collect some data. I will continue making trip videos, so check back later for new ones, or even better, subscribe to get notified.
I completely acknowledge that this type of camping is not for everyone. There are lots of bikepackers who thrive on covering long distances, toiling away the whole day. However, I suspect that as we age, we tend to gravitate towards more comfortable ways to enjoy this activity. Whatever your preferences are, I hope you'll find the videos interesting or even useful.

Love your videos. Beautiful and very interesting to see a part of the world that I've only visited briefly a long time ago (and without the benefit of "slow" bike travel).
I love maps and I really appreciate your animated maps of your travel.
It's really interesting to see how you manage battery and charging on these trips. I'm thinking of doing some longer "solar powered" trips and this is useful information.

It makes me really happy to see you as a faithful follower! Your feedback is incredibly welcome and valuable. In fact, there's nothing more rewarding than seeing someone inspired to create something similar. I wish you all the best and many happy rides ahead. Feel free to ask anything - I'm happy to help, even if my experience is still growing.

I see you go from solar to mppt to battery -- What type of connection do you use to go from mppt to battery ? (my battery uses a 3 pin for charging)

My charge connection also has 3 pins, but in reality, only 2 pins are used. I googled a lot to find out what exactly this connector is and to my amazement, it turned out that it's some kind of audio connector. The name is "AC-C-X3M". You just have to find out which pins are actually used and which one is the + and -.
