Honestly, I'm sad this legendary battle between Phoenix Man and Child Emperor (surprisingly incredible too) doesn't exist anymore. It was amazing, we were already blown away by the battle between Flashy Flash and the two dragon-level ninja monsters, but then just after that Phoenix Man was even crazier and unexpected. What ride it was. And then One decided to do that crap instead.

I use an app to read the manga and they didn't have the rewriten version, so I read the entire fight and I didn't even know that there was another version lol. The fight was rlly good
ONE and Murata redrew it after realising they can only have one OP character in the OPM universe the amount of modes that Phoenix Man has would piss off Garou too if they were to fight
I'd love to see him and others form a team of "Good Monsters" . Possibly lead by Garou if he decides to quit the Hero Association. I am still holding up hope that he gives his big speech about the inadeqacies of Heroes and Society that got cut entirely. On a sillier note, Do-S losing her ability to control peoples minds resulting in her becoming a popular web celebrity with an army of willing simp followers would be quite amusing.

yeah, I think it was still viable to add on the cosmic radiation scene but I dunno why ONE get rid of it... I don't really much care about feats I want the old story back, the webcomic.... I also like Garou being rogue because its not believable that the world would be too nice to accept reformed Garou that instant. When they showed a tiger then a demon and then a dragon standing in front of Saitama to represent the different disaster levels. And then they showed phoenix man in his first form as god level threat. Kind of like foreshadowing or something.

I’m confused, I marathoned OP a couple days ago on the shonen jump webpage and when I read the monster association arc, it was the stuff this video is saying was cut. The corrupted form, Child Emperor winning, all of that. Never saw a penguin man. Where are these retcons, the physical volumes?
Chickman and other monster characters like Mosquito Girl, Monaco, Black S, etc. could become heroes because it is very odd that some monsters are alive and turning good. Ex: Rover/Pochi had joined the Blizzard Bunch, and I won't be surprised if Fubuki requested the HA to make the monster dog an official hero/heroine with its own rank.
I think that maybe the reason why pheonix man got so nerfed was to give his forms a better pacing and not just have one after the othet after the other but I have not read the manga so heck do I know
I think the writer just liked the character and fixed him, being super powerful meant he would inevitably meet his end on Saitamas fist, now he can be explored

I liked the original ending of deafeating him with the tickle bot where he tore off his own costume and lost his power since it was the costume that gave him power. He grew so OP that it was hilarious that a small tickle bot defeated him haha

The concern is that there is no proof he couldn’t do the same thing again and again and grow way out of reach of the rest of the verse. If he had beaten Child Emperor with the Brilliant Eagle form, he would have run into Saitama and eventually caught up to even him after a couple revives. That’s the ridiculous part.

Phoenix man was strong but never too OP in my opinion. Even after going through rebirth thrice in the older version and twice in the newer version. His power level always remained around low dragon level. He only got newer abilities which were very closely related to a phoenix. Fire(Prometheus?) mode, and Rebirth(Npcs) mode, and has a inner space. Even if he were to get stronger, I don't think he would have ever gone beyond Dragon level. Plus, His biggest weakness is his suit. Were he to fight someone like Atomic samurai, Flashy flash, or Tats for that matter. His 'suit' would be torn to shreds and there goes his power. Child emperor killed him but never tore off his suit. Anyway that's my view on him.

Not just in crazy stats boost, he also gets new hax abilities after revival, 2 to 3 more revival and he would surpass all monsters
