Hey burlacher you’ve got a piston slap problem inside the engine. The wrist pin on the connecting rod is fucked. That’s why your engine is knocking like that.

@@humaylamer7964 If the diagnosis is one of the wrist pins. Then yes. Usually, purchasing a new engine is cheaper than rebuilding the original engine.
@@Firebrand.886 Oh ok, and what if it isn't the wrist pins? There was a loud knocking sound in the motor, and I didn't really think much of it, and I drove it the next day and afterwards it won't start.

Wouldnt void the warranty buy should void ownership gor doing that lol. Or it probably has something to do with the leak he has never fixed but yet beats the hell out of it then buys a blower before fixing the leak. Leaks can be nothing but they also can be a sign of something major. But he just jokes about it.

Seems too slow to be rod knock. The noise seems more consistent with an intake backfire, which means there's a problem with the air/fuel mixture or of course the spark. I'm going with something weird that's fuel related like injector seals.

I got you man, your warranty should still be effect because I believe you’ve only done cosmetics to the vehicle not any engine modifications then you should still be under warranty. I’m over here at Lhm Draper ford.

@@getlost3922 we actually wouldn’t count that as voiding the warranty. We mainly care about modifications that change the engine and the factory parts installed. For example injectors/tunes superchargers or turbos.

I think the timing is off a bit.
@@joppeoffringa9590 yeah timing off somewhere and when you keep driving with timing off whether being caused by bad gas etc you end up with a bent valve or bent rod. Either way not good especially trying to restart it for the camera can turn it from a big job into full on engine rebuild.
@@carculturenation2166 they won't rebuild. Ford will simply put a new motor in it. I've gone through this with my shelby
@@zach8620 yeah usually people are getting it replaces with gen 2 voodoo.. cant remember if he said its factory warranty but if its aftermarket then i would opt for a rebuild adding better parts. Ive actually had guys that pay out of pocket to get diamond pistons Manley rods etc. The build is covered under warrany but parts can upgraded depending the warranty coverage. Ive seen this done either with aftermarket warranty and dealership offered warranty where they are big into shelby sales. Either way if they are swapping the engine he dodged a bullet by not getting that blower on before hand. He gets a motor under warranty right before supercharger install he either is the luckiest man in the world. Or he tan the blower without a tune popped the motor a d is playing off to us that the factory engine is messed up.
@@carculturenation2166 yea I got the gen 2 in mine now. And he's fine as far as warranty, he was talking about the 3 year 36k, but ford covers powertrain for 5 year 60k so he's forsure covered. But yes he definitely got super lucky! Had that motor blown after the whipple was put on, he would be out a $28k motor. Same exact thing happened to me...my motor went out 5 days before I was having my procharger put on. Opg failed on mine. That's the weakest thing on these cars.

i really think it might be misfiring a lot something is either loose or something is going on inside of the enigine

I went through a motor replacement on my gt350 and documented it on my channel awhile back. Mine was knocking pretty bad but it was a slightly different sound than yours and mine wasn’t backfiring. Good luck. Hope the new motor isn’t on backorder. Also, thank the stars you didn’t install the whipple yet.

Ford does have overall below average reliability but 2015+ mustangs tend to have very good reliability and f150s from 2010+ tend to have above average to good reliability.
@@johnhunter7244 as far as i know gt350 is well known for engine failures. that's why ford replaced it with mach1 which is almost a gt350 with the gt engine.

Nick I hope you see this.. i think it might be the connection on where the exhaust connects to the engine block. If the sound is coming from the engine then a piston could be loose but if it's coming from the exhaust then there could be something trapped in it.

Sounds like no compression in a few cylinders. Take off any engine mods that you have so they can't void your warranty because Ford is famous for doing that on GT350's. Those cars have major engine issues. Time to sell it.
If there is any tune whatsoever on that car it will be an automatic warranty void.

I think every single youtuber I follow that has a GT350 has had their engine blow. Ford has a problem with that engine and really doesn't want to admit it.

they already discontinued the gt350 and replaced it with mach1 probably because they had to keep changing engines under warranty and that was getting too expensive.

It's two slow to be a rod knock, it's sounds like a really bad misfire on several cylinders.

After listening to it again I'm wondering if that's a non clearance motor or interference motor, whatever you wanna call it, and something happened to cause a valve to hit the piston. That would better explain the misfire and longer delay between the noise. But I'm sure we'll be updated on it pretty soon...

The tapping sound was actually the pistons hitting the bowels in the block. It's a very expensive fix. Right up in the $2K area.
Sadly this is one of the reasons I sold my GT350 (for a profit). I just never trusted the reliability and Ford customer service blows.

The GT350 is notorious for having engine issues/replacements. Make sure you fight them on the warranty because I've seen many stories of Ford denying the claims.

I hate to say it but I have heard that noise before. My 2018 started with what sounded like a header leak and less than a mile later it locked up and actually punched a hole through the block. I have yet to see a major RUclipsr with a GT350 who didn't have major engine issues so I was rooting for you....but also cringing after every high rpm pull. Mine only lasted 1800 miles.

I hear compression from the sparkplug hole. Means they will need to put in a Helicoil and install new plugs. Normal on a Ford.

That sounds like 1 of 3 things, Harmonic Balancer, Dual Mass Flywheel or worst case Rod failure. I've had the Dual Mass flywheel issue in my cheap 6 cyl, but the v8 has similar setup.
