      Where does wood lay on the hardness scale? I don't want this clock getting scratched by my keys.

    • @craftedworkshop
      @craftedworkshop  6 лет назад

      It’s hard enough for that application, it’s a hardwood, much harder than Pine and the like.

    Great job! I like the end results,and I'm starting to really like seeing other material added to a project while keeping wood the main component in the construction. It seems like the more I see different projects being made like that;the more I like how they turn out. Looks like I may have to try it out myself. Thanks for your time,and effort.

    When I first got into woodworking in 6th grade shop class I had an uncle that worked at a sawmill.and he would grab up interesting wood pieces headed for the chip grinder. Man I had to have made dozens of clocks. Almost an obsession of sorts. Made him s giant clock about half the width of his couch. It was really close shaped to Alaska and he loved Alaska. It was huge and heavy and it was the only time he asked me to make it for him. He gave me so many I'd sell them to stores and at outdoor sales. Wish I had a couple now. The chunks he'd grab would cost a hundred or so at Woodcraft. Live and learn I guess.
