Molar bands are tiny rings that fit around your back molars. They’re put on by orthodontists when placing a set of braces on your teeth.
The bands are typically made of metal or stainless steel. This makes them durable and also reasonably easy to fit to a tooth. Orthodontists can also weld other brace parts that are made of steel or metal to molar bands.
While molar bands are used with braces, only select people require them. Your dentist might recommend molar bands if you have a sizable gap to close, or if you need to realign your bite along with straightening your teeth.
Additionally, in situations where a bracket on back teeth can easily break when biting, molar bands are a better choice.
Molar bands are often recommended for people having corrective jaw surgery. This allows less risk of broken brackets, and the surgeon can tie a surgical splint to these bands.
Dentist also recommend molar bands in children whose teeth haven’t fully grown since the bands can go slightly under the gum.
Additionally, you might need a molar band if you wear headgear to correct your jaw growth or have large fillings.

hi can I ask you a question? does dentist remove molar band and replace with brackets towards the end of the treatment to close up the gaps?
I wear the ring on my crown because it came off twice and the doctor put it on for me 😄 plus is on my molar right bottom
Uh i ripped one of mine out because it was causing extreme gum pain for days and days even after I tried medicine and I did this before with my other tooth and insteaad they just put a tube. I’m gonna ask If they can do that cuz now u have a huge wire sticking out

i have these silver hook brackets on my 4 molars (top, bottom, both right and left) and i’m currently in powechains, the powechains supposed to be on these 4 molar brackets but whenever i eat something, half of the tie comes off, is there any way to prevent this?

PLEASE! I have one quick question. I am on my 3rd months with braces. After 2 weeks my dentist will attach closed coil spring on my teeth so that the gaps due to the extraction of my 4 teeth gets cover. But i have seen many videos and in that some apply hooks on the skin of the mouth. I am very much scared if i get them. Is it necessary that any dentist will attach hook on the skin?
I have severe overjet, 2 teeth need to be extracted. I got braces on my upper teeth with spacers on my back teeth, its been a week. Now my orthodontist put two molar bands but hasn't connected the wire in both of the bands so its just staying there and poking. Is this the time to get the bands? Its just there wire is also not connected, so i just feel he put there for nothing and its just bothering me for nothing 😣.

Hello, I have a question and I have 4 spacers at the bottom right (on the other side and above, I don't have any because I have enough space there). In any case, my question is, will I now get 4 molar bands at the bottom right so that's it at the end 4 on each side would make a total of 16? Is it even possible to place 16 molar bands? lol

I had got infection due to molar bands . On second day after putting it i observed pain in throat i thought it might b some other factor, but now i see redness inside mouth neck pain swallowing problems and fever, all within 5days of molar bands on upper jaw . Is it common or concerning

My dentist foiled the molar from top after putting molar band, I will like my molar is shorter than before.
Is it bad? Coz I feel like he messed up and I shouldn't have done braces in first place, all teeth looks shorter as he foil them little if brackets touch with other tooth

He shaved all molars and premolars.
I feel like he kinda messed up with my teeth and ruined my life.

My orthodontist didn't wipe out the extra cement on my molars and it's froze now and I have an unbalanced bite now don't know what do I do to remove cement on my molars .

Why cant you just use a normal bracket instead of a molar band on the molars

QUESTION PLEASE HELP! so i just got on bite turbos on my front two teeth and i can’t eat anything cause my teeth don’t touch in the back, will it be like that the whole 5 months are will they eventually get closer and i can eat again?

Hi my friend and the best way to fasten your treatment is :
1) Do not miss any appointment
2) Do not break any brackets with your food
3) Use the rubber bands and other appliances on point
and that's for sure the right way to make your treatment faster!
