Learning the Etsy Ads strategy from Dave was the best decision I could have ever made for my new shop. My monthly revenue has 10X since 5 months ago when I coached with Dave.
I cranked my Etsy budget up to $1000 selling digital downloads, trimming down irrelevant SEO terms and all it does is spend the ad budget and you make a LOT of sells with no profit. Maybe digital downloads isn't ideal for ETSY ads as it's currently configured. Etsy should lower the cost per click for digital downloads or for items that sell less for than $5.
I monitor daily my ads to remove unrelated keywords (Broad keywords), I'm helping a friend taking her store from $474 from January to $4000 a month. It all boils down to query research (keyword research). Thank for sharing.
He’s referring to the micro impressions that you don’t see, not views and visits. Things like did a person slow down as they passed your listing, did they stay a long time when they visited your listing, did they add to cart but then not checkout, did they scroll through all your photos etc. Things the algorithms document to grade your listing that we will never see
I just started listing a pod product that is new to the market. It’s unique, only 1 pod is making it right now and has the potential to be huge. Could you make a video on how to take advantage of a being one if the first for selling a product like that?
We really don’t really know how a product how it’s going to perform truly until you post it live we can think it’s the best thing since sliced bread, but the algorithm does not lie. Once you validate that it’s getting the majority of clicks or sales or even making some organic sales. The best thing you can do for it is put fuel under the fire with Etsy ads and see if the ads make sense profit wise after you spend a good amount of budget I would suggest at least the sale price.
Great video! I would just like some advice. I am selling digital downloads and started two months ago, doing quite well organically. However, the problem is that my niche is seasonal, and my evergreen product lines are not gaining traction. I’d like to use ads, but I may need to turn some off when fall or Christmas ends, etc. Would that be okay? As far as I understand, it’s not the best approach and could affect momentum. I'm about to watch your free ad video, but I’d appreciate your thoughts!
Hi Hannah, I have an Etsy question.. I am planning to open an apparel store for Dog lovers wherein I will be putting designs for Top 19 Top dog breeds in U.S.A and the 20th section would be dedicated to other dog breeds.. Now my question is that Should I only put 1 product that is t-shirts on my store OR Should I rather have 2-3 products (t-shirts, mugs, blankets) under each dog breed section to give the customer more buying options and thereby also increase my Average Order Value? I would appreciate your response, thanks!
Offering a variety of products like t-shirts, mugs, and blankets under each dog breed section can be a great way to increase your Average Order Value (AOV) and appeal to different customer preferences. It gives shoppers more options and can make them more likely to buy multiple items in one go. Additionally, diversifying your product offerings allows you to cater to different segments of your audience, like those who may prefer home decor (blankets) or everyday items (mugs) over apparel. The end goal is to definitely sell in different product categories but in the beginning in my opinion it is better to master 1 single product line before moving to another.
I have a question I’ve never heard anyone discuss before. If you turn ads off on a listing that’s not performing, do you ever turn them back on? And if so, what triggers that?
Based on what Josh Silverman said in the last investor conference, Etsy ads have no impact on the algorithm and rest of the store performance organically. He also said that adding more listing does not help the algorithm show your listings. Just a FYI.
Hanna!!! to listen some etsy guru here on you tube I turned on and off my ads many times and now my shop is totally dead in views!!! I whish I have found this video before the damage! do you know more or less how long will take to adjust itself? do I have any hope to go back to normal? thank you so muchhhh
I totally get how frustrating that can be. It does take a while for your shop to adjust after changing ad settings, but don’t worry..it’s not necessarily a bad thing! Etsy’s algorithm will recalibrate, and you should start seeing views pick back up.
I have my ads set to $1000 per day. I spend around $20-50/day. I have around 6x roas amd 10x when I factor organic sales. I generate around $12k per month selling wedding rings. How do I spend more?!
I’m at a point where I just want to give up I know I’m new to This but I don’t want to feel like I’m forced to do this just to make money If that makes sense ?
Hi I adjust my budget to when I wake up so I can get Uk sales rather than sales in the night from USA, as Uk sales are more profitable for me, should I be stopping this then?
If adjusting your budget for UK sales is working well for you, that’s great! For us, US sales have worked really well, so it depends on what’s best for your business. Every shop is different, and it’s all about finding the strategy that aligns with your goals.
offff.... now I'm gonna try Etsy freaking ads again..... my organic sales will drop to zero.... i'm gonna spend WAYY more then I'm earning.... I'm gonna go "how the funk do I get 0 sales for 3 days now, when I had 3-4 sales a day before running ads?" and then after 14 days and almost no sales I will turn them off and swear to god that I'm not touching this broken platform again!!!! until the next youtube that will explain to me that it's not the Ads.... it's me......... grrrrrrr
Has any one else been put on a Etsy ads budget limit? I’ve not been able to top 100$ limit for months. I do around 15k a month all my customer service metrics are above the standard yet I’m stuck at 100$ after having 1000$ limit for years.
Hannah how long is the initial phase of negative impact I doubled my budget from 50 to 100 3 days ago but now my store is losing money and all organic sales
It depends on the sotre, niche, and other things. It's different for everybody. It can last anywhere from a week to a month. If the change sucked then it can be indefinite. No pressure!
It’s totally okay; don’t stress too much about it. Three days really isn’t enough time to gather sufficient data for any big conclusions. The algorithm takes a bit of time to update based on your ad settings and changes. However, if you're feeling worried, you can tweak your budget slightly based on what you're seeing. Just remember, it often gets better as the algorithm adjusts. You've got this!
Etsy ads don’t make sense for every single item. If you don’t mind me asking what was your ad cost percentage on your best selling listing compared to top line sales what was the percentage?
What about when you are AB testing your main listing photo? In that case, if you keep the same exact SEO, does the duplicate hurt the original listing that’s making some sales? Thanks!
@@OrangeVilla Never keep the same exact title and tags. Even if you did, there are so many outside factors. It will literally never be a true AB test. BUt to answer the question no, in most cases!

True, cpc is high on etsy ads. But if you turn off the ones that dont profit, you make money. Dont just set and forget!
Definitely , getting rid of the broad keywords is the way to go.
See my ads training on this one, there are many variables you are talking about here

Valuable video. Dave mentioned that you can't see your impressions, but you can. On the dashboard it's called views and visits are the listing clicks.

Tried that several times and I didn't see any changes. It seems that Etsy stores the data but I could be wrong.
Only holiday listings I would do that for old listings that got turned off we never circle back

Duplicates seem to slow down the original listing that was selling, like your competing with yourself
When you duplicate you should change the tags and seo so it hits a different set of search terms
