I have a question, I have a 1990 Mazda rx7 convertible 5 speed N/A, factory posi rear end, engine and trans mounts, exedy clutch, shaved flywheel, how much do yoy think i could get out of it, the top is in bad shape but is patched dosent leak, could get a premium one for $1000 or a single turbo built 13B and trans for $1000.
Ronald Perez I’m looking into this abandoned Nissan 300zx 1991 (I think) and it’s a auto and a N/A so I’m hesitant on buying it I’m just wondering if you’d think it’d be a good purchase cause it’ll also be my first car

Like the new camera view👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾 Maybe some vlogs of just cruising, a video on what to expect when turboing a car, any special car rituals, like let the fuel prime for 3 seconds before starting. General maintenance of turbo motors🤔
Is the slave cylinder/throw out bearing shimmed correctly? Sounds like you need a shim or two behind the bearing/slave cylinder and then re adjust the clutch. You may be over stroking the slave cylinder, it gets in a bind and sticks. Causing your pedal issues.
As for bleeding the master and the slave, it's a pain. It usually just take a very long time manually. A vacuum bleeder helps. You can pop the pedal a bunch to work air bubbles out as well. Also, if it's a 4th gen Camaro slave, you are better off getting a good one. Some of the cheap ones are complete junk.
Could your issues be a result of transmission miss alignment...? Probably so... Noise from input shaft/ thrust washer could have been caused by this. Additionally, without having the support of the input shaft (cut off), the miss alignment might have been further exaggerated and could be affecting the engagement of the throw out bearing on the clutch. The miss alignment might also be causing your starter issues. If the starter isn't able to push onto the flywheel, it will never begin to crank as we saw. I'm going to take a guess that your transmission isn't aligned properly.
Hey kalvin. Doesnt the haltec have the ability to set up a cold start protocol? I know my emtron has this feature. My 2j doesnt have the idle air control valve either. The haltec should have a cold start section that you can set up by time not by the sensors. So for 3 mins or something you can set the idle higher through the ECU? You should also be able to set a temp parameter as well. And when it reaches the temp it will drop the idle back down. Or by time its your choice usually Maybe give ya tuner a call hell probably be able to talk you through it. Save you hammering on ya starter. That click from ya starter too could be that you added in those new fans and ya alternator isnt upto the task anymore. I'm having that exact issue right now. My car keeps dropping voltage due to to much draw from fuel pumps, fans, ECU, stereo etc. After I added the fans it put it over the edge and now it looks like I need a bigger amperage alternator. Might be why its struggling to get the starter going? Loving the content dude you and I are basically at the same point in our builds. Ironing out all the bugs. It's nice knowing I'm not the only one with some of these issue Haha.
In my rx8 i had that clutch problem, with that car it has the little rod behind the pedal to adjust it and when i was bleeding it i had it set to far in not letting it build enough pressure. Backed it out completely and then adjusted until it barley made contact with the master and proceeded to bleed again. After that never had an issue again. Not the same vehicle but maybe it’ll help
You should get a pressurized bleeding system for your clutch. Pressurized bleeding system actually puts in the clutch fluid from the bottom up so that pushes the air bubbles all the way up to master cylinder and bleeds them out the reservoir. I actually had a very similar problem in my 300ZX twin turbo 5 speed. No matter what I did I could not bleed it correctly from both of the bleeder valves, Yes there are two on a 300ZX twin turbo from the factory. but I got a pressurized bleeding system and I bled it from the slave cylinder all the way up and I had zero problems for the next few years. you just have to start with the system completely empty and you may have to empty the reservoir a couple of times it's good to have a buddy help you out.
Kalvin can you make a video on how to adjust the cam angle sensor on a RB since she refuses to start I think my cam angle sensor isn’t calibrated well or uncalibrated itself cuz I was driving my S13 in Mexico having some fun and she made it home just fine now this morning I go to start her up she wouldn’t start at all my hunch is either my cam angle sensor somehow uncalibrated itself or my cam angle sensor has gone to shit
Omg dude you're near Webster. I grew up in Sodus near the lake if you've heard of it. I was like 30 mins from Webster. Living in SC now but I do miss upstate NY summer
It is possible that the mastercylinder is damaged internally. You Said it was a Tilton one but did you buy it as a brand new unit? If thats not it you can also check the slavcylinder. Not very uncommon for the seal to leak internally. Just tryin to help😉
Hey man it’s awesome seeing a z channel. Keep up with the content and it’s great seeing this channel grow. You said your from upstate NY. Where about are you? I have had my 1990 zTT for a few years now but needs some tuning and there is no one that knows how to work on these cars. Didn’t know if your close and maybe we could link up sometime.
Hopefully after driving it with the input shaft wedged on the crank your thrust bearings didn’t go bad & you don’t have end play / crank walk, obviously I had a few dsm’s lol not sure it’s your issue but I was definitely adjusting the clutch a lot
jt rich true, but bypassing the clutch for start up is going to help any car prevent excessive wear to the thrust bearings, but that’s not what my comment was referencing, his input shaft was physically wedged against the pilot bearing before he trimmed it shorter, causing the crankshaft to be wedged in the forward position all the time regardless of clutch engagement, hopefully his bottom end is still ok & it isn’t too bad
if you were still in Florida, I could use a good hired hand to help me with my 1jz vvti kouki tear down (bent valves). Doing engine upgrades, freshening up the bay & tucking the chassis harness starting Monday. lots of fun

Freddy_FPV supras and 2js built its a must to bypass the clutch and start the car without the clutch. Solves crankwalk issue.
