The reason what i notice, if or when a University play a Summer band song. It does not hit like the Summer bands because the University don't have beast mellos like a lot of the Summer bands .. It's the same when SU played NOASB's Moonlight. It was nice, but it was not executed like NOASB because SU didn't have the mellos. So, i highly doubt if JSU play Search and Rescue it will hit like Memphis. In fact, i'm sure of it.

May I ask honestly what is the appeal? Im a band nerd, Ive done drum corps, I am the epitome of a band nerd. However when I listen to these mass bands in the south and even some of the HBCU marching bands and they sound like garbage. There is little to no musical technique, there is no balance between the sections and I can’t even tell what the song is that they are playing. When i hear the phrase “black excellence” these groups are not giving that.
