Today we are reacting and reviewing to GAMB vs MMB at the Battle for Culture IV in Georgia this past weekend.
GAMB has been riding high for the last year after the dominance they showed last summer, however this is year folks have something to say. Will they keep riding this high wave throughout the whole summer again?
MMB was very impressive last summer but haven't seen GAMB since 2019. How will Memphis do against a band with everything they have going on right now?
This Battle is long overdue

Man I wish y’all would have reacted to the them few songs by MMB when GMAB was leaving and joined the crowd
I ❤ that Vonté is so much of a celebrity that people check if he's playing in the band. 🎉 Shout-out to my young Ninja

It’s 60 trombones sound like 20
Crazy man
😂😂😂 you not lyin bro that’s all thin
No wall at all
15 you giving them 5😈
At no point in my playing career would you tell me we got 60 and this is the result.
The reason what i notice, if or when a University play a Summer band song. It does not hit like the Summer bands because the University don't have beast mellos like a lot of the Summer bands .. It's the same when SU played NOASB's Moonlight. It was nice, but it was not executed like NOASB because SU didn't have the mellos. So, i highly doubt if JSU play Search and Rescue it will hit like Memphis. In fact, i'm sure of it.
Memphis got dam they sound so good
Ga played some mid unison wholesome whole and half notes the entire battle. They wasn’t ready
Georgia girlfriend changed her Facebook status to Single after this battle.
TC played some MMB arrangements 2013-2015.

Why y’all worried bout Jackson in June tho 🌚🌚🌚
Y’all were talking and didn’t hear the change. Who are you? Lol
I really think gamb song selections was for them tbh but I really think they was like let’s hurry up n get this over with 😂🤣 i really believe if GA wanted to get ignorant with them boys they really could’ve but again they song selections was they’re downfall
In person Atl Isn’t the that loud I was there in front the band 🤦🏾♂️ Disappointing
You damn lie I cuz I was there in person
Both was loud gamb was a different loud With dynamics but mmb had better arrangements
was looking forward to this review but it just seems like the bells and whistles covered up alot of comments that should have been pointed out towards Memphis. GAMB arrangements killed them in this battle but overall I like the sound. Deonte with the sneak attack LOLOLOL
When every song they played that day starts wit Ah whole note u can’t be serious 😂
May I ask honestly what is the appeal? Im a band nerd, Ive done drum corps, I am the epitome of a band nerd. However when I listen to these mass bands in the south and even some of the HBCU marching bands and they sound like garbage. There is little to no musical technique, there is no balance between the sections and I can’t even tell what the song is that they are playing.
When i hear the phrase “black excellence” these groups are not giving that.
