I absolutely LOVE Dany's play-acting, in several of their songs, where she makes this "Oh!!" face and then "lets the guitar take control". It makes me giggle every time. 😁 (I think she really sort-of believes that happens - it's happened to me, and I totally get it...)
The outro to this song is classic jam rock! Seeing them do this almost-broadway-show-tune rock song on the TEDx 2017 video was what grabbed me by the feels and drew me into this band. The Pepsi Center show is amazing and brings out the face water on many of their songs. *Survive* is a classic that SHOULD HAVE BEEN a radio hit. FTF version is fun AND dark! Kudos to Jesse for helping these kids with sound and performance. It was bar band loose in a good way. Great reaction.
Nice reaction, loved both Survive versions. Freeze the fall made some little tweaks to set their style, good job! And of course, The Warning performed it amazingly!!
Nobody does a The Warning song like The Warning; the sheer joy from DPA and the crowd is just magic. That said, FTF does a great job with their own version of this song, and it stands on it's own as just plain fun.
It is a common thing to tear up when you see them in all their glory, giving everything they have for their audience. I'm tearing up while writing this, and I'm also not sure why. Great reaction!
I've watched a load of their live videos. From small clubs to massive stadiums, this has to be the livliest crowd so far. The looks on Pau and Dany's faces said it all as the crowd was singing along.
Dont' feel silly about having feelings with The Warning's music. I had tears much of that night at Pepsi Center. The music these three women make has connected with me on a level I never expected. But I love and appreciate that. They certainly have that special something "it" factor.
FTF did their performance of "Survive" as a thank you to all The Warning Army members who have supported FTF since discovering the young band when they posted a cover of TW's "Evolve". I appreciate they didn't do a straight-up cover. For one thing, the tempo is a bit quicker which gives the song a more aggressive feel. I like it a lot.
The Warning, Freeze the Fall, a The Warning original, a The Warning cover, Jesse, and Jessie. I've never been more confused! I too had a big breakdown at the end.😕😂
I saw The Warning live for the first time last week in Brooklyn. There are no accolades I can share that haven't already been said by so many...they are simply amazing! On a personal note, I was trying to divide my attention equally between them when they were performing but I noticed my attention continually being drawn to Dany, like a magnet. She is so captivating that she draws your attention. She is earning a seat at the table with the great front men and women of rock. Survive certainly fits as a breakup song, but while they were working on XXI Century Blood, their first full album, they were being suited by multiple studios and turned them away because they didn't want to give into the studio demands over creative control of their music. So that also fits. That is also an outstanding cover of Survive by FTF. I love how they make it their own! As they grow their brand, I'll definitely be on the lookout for an opportunity to see them perform live as well.
I love the name of your channel "flowers after rainfall". It's quite poetic. Survive is such a banger, that's why the girls themselves considers it one of their favorite songs despite being one of the first they wrote. That performance at Pepsi Center was simply amazing. Flawless. Nice reaction and you seems to be really sweet. I am glad I discovered your channel. ⚡
I think the sass is because they put together a special show for,the home crowd for the 10 yr anniversary of that first sandman video. It’s all, special. Watch it again and watch for the synchronized motions
Great double reaction. Nicki Reviews has a poll up for double reaction videos, and Survive by The Warning, and covered by Freeze The Fall is one of the options. ... ... ... So if people want to go to her channel and vote that would be nice. :) Survive is probably my favorite song from The Warning. It has such great energy, and The Warning always has fun when they play it. Not sure if you notice in the video, but there are several times when Ale and Dany do synchronized guitar/bass swings, and Ale and Pau do synchronized hair flips. Freeze The Fall and Jessie also obviously had a blast. One of the things I find interesting about Survive is that the song part of it, and the outro have somewhat different feelings. The song is about working through the end of the relationship. Cutting the last connections and tying up loose ends. The outro is freedom and celebratory energy. Until the Error album came out, and Evolve became The Warning's encore song, Survive was their encore song. It is still clearly a fan favorite.
Great reaction again! I know exactly what you mean I want to cry when I see something that is just so amazing and beautiful like pretty much every performance by Mexico's 3 daughters The Warning! Viva Daniela, Paulina y Alejandra 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
first TW song i heard was Free Falling followed by Survive because i was checking music from rock band 4. Already knew Tom Petty's song Free Falling and i fell down the rabbit hole and hard to believe 7 yrs later still as excited about them as the first time FTF's version is a thank you to TWA that have been supporting the band. they made it their own as it should be. they are not a cover band and only had time for 2 practices before this.
Written in their pre-teen/teen years so no business issues but, as Pau has described it, lots of teen girl "angst". Very few of the emotive songs they write are actually "lived" but they have a fierce emotive understanding of what they read (and they read a lot) so their social understanding is exceptional and they can place themselves "in the moment" so to speak. They can "feel" the experiences of others and put them into words. You relate to that, right??????????? Stay chatty have fun!
I agree with your assessment whole heartedly! The Warnings original version is I’m moving on and I’m done with you. FTF and Jesse give a performance of the song that is I’m pissed and I’m going to kick your ass! It is so amazing seeing a young talented band take a great song written by a band that was young themselves when they wrote it and add that extra sauce of flavor and make it unique! Appreciate you, Flowers.
Believe it is the 12 song release Flowers in the 23 song setlist....so we will get much more. Think "Sick" maybe next then "More" BTW, watched the FTF cover live when they released it with one of my favorite reactors Jesse from Bel Development channel... he did a lot of work with them and is playing guitar in the video and they did a fabulous job on this cover (but you know that)... Loved the sincere reaction as always.
You were correct initially, they were girls not women when they did that TedX talk. As for the cover, I think you nailed it. Survive, the angry version. The faster tempo, harsher vocals, and a male vocalist gives it a completely different feel.
re: the composition feeling different - I’ve heard that a couple times! We sped it up a couple BPM’s from the original, and it does have a different energy! Shoutout to FTF - we rehearsed twice the day before the show and I think they ATE on this 😁
Thank you so much for including us on this double feature 🙏 survive is hands down one of my favourite TW songs, and this was our way of saying thanks to TWA for all their support over the last year. Really appreciate your kind words and energy 💛

This song started life with a piano intro, but due to touring logistics now uses a guitar intro. One of their many breakup songs. Unmendable is the one that is rumored to be about a broken business partnership. TW says that they read a lot and make up stories. Their breakup songs are not about real life.

AO! Glad you picked one for yourself and made all those interesting connections. I think Freeze the Fall does a good job covering this - but I don't think they deliver that emotion the way The Warning does.
i can totally understand where you're coming from. For the Warning, this song means a lot to them, for Freeze the Fall the performance was more of a tribute to The Warning and not as personal

You have noises in the sound of your voice. The legend I’ve heard is that a friend told Pau that she was wasting her time with the band and that it would go nowhere. I’m very technical so I like the way you describe the music. The Warning have lifted my veneer of technical music and brought me back to why I love music in the first place.
Nice to see you again. The outro is magical. It's nothing spectacular in terms of composition, but it doesn't fail to amaze and move ever single time. The Warning knows how to write music with substance and something that kids can play in their bedroom/garage/basement. I'm not talking about FTF here .. see Survive cover by Neyla (new twins on the block) from Spain to know what I mean (see also their single Stay - the best mope-rock since the flannel overdose days - featuring the Ale Villarreal signature shoulder move).
