Soooo! can't grow melon without pollination ! correct I though melon grow just by planting seeds ? interesting
Yup, all melons have to be pollinated they have a female and male flower 🌸
I self-pollinated yesterday and now this morning when I woke up a female flowers closed not even yellow like it fell off could you tell me what I did wrong for future female flower
Do the male flowers need to be opened in order to pollinate the female?
Yes it does
Pretty much anything that flies around has the potential to be pollinators. We don't have any honey bees around our house :( but all the other bees/wasps/hornets/moths/flys/any other annoying buzzing thing can all be pollinators. Do you happen to know why you don't have pollinators? I guess being in the city would be the reason. Do they spray killer? Just curious what the cause is so I can make sure I avoid that problem.
I believe I just don’t have enough flowers or anything that will attract pollinators so my goal for next year is to get many flowers around my garden also I a little pollinators around that’s how I got some surprised melons
