I appreciate you guiding people into trying the VPNs you genuinely think are better. However, I dislike how you describe your tier list as the "real" one, or stating that you were the first to make a VPN tier list. Can't people simply have other opinions and needs?
@@Alesiloo Sure, but just to be clear, all of these other vpn tier lists are done by people who don't test the vpns they place in the tier lists. I'm the only one who reviews VPNs. Would you like to view a video gamer tier list by someone who hasn't played any of the games in the tier list?
If tech RUclipsrs say VPN are worthless then why hackers are so successful in use them and spoofing email?? ChrisTitus fail to say that NordVpn is not part of 14 Eyes countries or 5 eyes countries. Thank you for bring balances.
I don't think CT is the kind of guy who uses bittorrent or needs to change his IP address. His tier list makes sense from a sysadmin perspective, not the common folk. That's why he put self-hosting on top.
I set up OpenVPN exactly so I could VPN in when I need to and essentially be "at home". I haven't tried Wireguard yet, but the use case will be the same. With 5G, I'll need something that can be used over IPv6. (My OpenVPN is IPv4 only.) I'm much more likely to set up SSH tunnel to bypass an IP block than fire up a VPN. I don't need a tier list to tell me this, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't use any of the other VPNs. It's simply a matter of how I use my particular devices (I NEVER use mobile for data-hungry things like streaming anything, or even web browsing unless I absolutely need to). My mobile devices are insecure by design, and I have no idea how insecure they really are.
Can you please explain what you were trying to accomplish with this comment? Your use case is literally what a lot of people don't even necessarily buy a vpn for? Genuinely confused what your comment has to do with this tier list?
For years I have been confident with suggesting for others to only check your channel because of your diligence, thoroughness, honesty & your amazing VPN tier list & spreadsheet.🕺
Chris is one of those youtubers that say wrong or partially true things very confidently. I don't think he is malicious in doing this, but I don't consider him to be too trustworthy as a source of information. Take everything with a grain of salt.
how could i connect from europe to argentina for some buys then? should i use mango ruter from aliexpress?also my internet provider and my iptv doesnt let me watch tv over my internet provider network how to fix that?
Nobody seems to be aware what a VPN is actually necessary for, and that is to circumvent censorship. And for this, in my experience, your own VPS server works best. Tor is just too slow and corporate VPNs get blocked all of the time.
The biggest problem with all of the listed vpns (aside from the protocol ones) is that you need to trust them. They can gather all the data they want from your connection. While encrypted content is kind of save for now, all the meta data is there be used/sold/whatever. This data would be accessible for your internet provider if you don't use a vpn. So you must decide who do you trust. For me it is my inet provider, because if he fucks up, he falls into the jurisdictation of my home land.
But some vpns like nordvpn have strict no-logging policies and have had at least 4 audits done from 3rd parties. I even heard/read through their blogs that they have servers that are completely built on ram so that the data can't even be permanently stored. I feel like a lot of easy due diligence is not being done by people.
Thanks Tom for the clear and reasonable explanation. I was confused after watching his video. Why put OpenVPN and WireGuard at the top of the list and all the major VPNs at the bottom? Thanks for clarifying!
Yes, running your own VPN is great for businesses and zero trust perspective. For torrenting and other activities other VPNs from companies is fine, but not for business.
@@TomSparkReviews actually it is most of the time. I can spin wg-eazy VPN in 2 minutes with Hetzner. Including unbound and pihole 🙂. Funny thing is that I have my home media (qbittorrent, jellyfin) at Akamai..but I am routing those containers through Nord .. just in case 😂
Thank god for this video I also left a comment at his video. So many of his takes were just blatantly wrong. I really feel like he has a deep hate towards companies trying to make money too. It seems as if any company was even slightly commercial it just wouldn't pass his b-tier lol.
Honestly, I'm quite dissatisfied with Chris' video. Feeling like making my own video about it to spread the message and inform the people. Should I do it?
All I can say is you should learn how to make a good POP clickbait & then add all the information you think is best! like @CTT & all the other creators are doing! I think Veritasium did a great video on it. Clickbait works! So in order to fix this problem you have to pander the lowest fruit of the tree in order to make views which would in turn make your information reachable to the user that need it the most. which in turn would also make you more money.
Is more like his personal view on this with not alot of research, is just an mediocre video, i was a little upset because he didn't explain what WireGuard and openvpn really is , but i never take tier lists seriously anyways, Chris has some great videos in general but sometimes he is doing some mediocre stuff like this.
His dangerous advice is more dangerous than his viewers realize, this is immoral advice, no regard for his supporters, not even a little bit of consideration.
The real VPN tier list can be found here: www.vpntierlist.com/

That makes sense but that isn’t really what he saying the video lol

I highly recommend switching over to WG from OVPN. It just works so much better, and has better network performance.

yt recommendations sometimes work for good
Agree, CT really dropped the ball badly on that video!
how could i connect from europe to argentina for some buys then? should i use mango ruter from aliexpress?also my internet provider and my iptv doesnt let me watch tv over my internet provider network how to fix that?
Okay, so CT's recommendations are rubbish. What VPN do you recommend for the average user?
Check out vpntierlist.com
@@TomSparkReviews thank you!
I think CT has a bit of an ego problem and is not as clued up as he thinks.
Yeah, really hard to watch his stuff because of this
cope harder
Most of CTT content is ok, but too much of it can be placed in the 'confidently incorrect' category.
Nobody seems to be aware what a VPN is actually necessary for, and that is to circumvent censorship. And for this, in my experience, your own VPS server works best. Tor is just too slow and corporate VPNs get blocked all of the time.
Tom Spark also mentioned a few other use cases for a VPN in his video which a VPS wouldn't be all that good for.
CT seems bored doing his tier lists including this one, they are superficial and are clearly looking for a response.

damn...and if I hadn't clicked on the recommendations to view this video, I would have believed CTT. Thanks for this.
Glad I could help!

is there a browser extension type vpen tierlist that u have?
Surfshark ist not BIV anymore. They are registered in Netherlands

Yes
Took your quiz on your site gave so many other answers but always got nord lol 😂
yeah when i watched his viedo, i totally disagreed with his and then saw your video on the side, so watched your and I agree with you.
I asked ct a simple question on one of his videos because I needed help over a year ago, no reply. If he cared, he’d care. He doesn’t.
Qualify his list as VPN for the homelab crowd.
I also don't agree with Chris Titus Tech VPN Tier List.
Is Mega VPN good?
If you want to be spied on, then sure.
How do I find the spread sheet list you shiw in your video can't find it on your site
its at the top, it says "look here".

CT did list because hs was asked repeatedly.
hes made a lot of misinformative videos on vpns in the past... you seem to imply its not his fault that he made a video he doesnt know much about?
Nice job on video 😊👍
Chris Titus is nothing more than your typical "tech" RUclipsr shilling products for tech companies. Ivsee here he made a fool of himself again.
