Nice video man. Just want to help out a little. The power range manifolds hold are due to runner length and not cfm/ flow. Long runners favor low end power a d short runners favor top end power. Doesn't matter the engine this applies to any engine. For instance tune port lt1 from the 90s had super long intake runners and a small cam to favor power at 3-4k rpm
Good looking out my dude you made a fuking good point excuse my French I was just looking at st manifold looking into it I was going to go with the jmf but you change my mind I want reliability and want to drive it daily not looking for horsepower looking for torque thank you for your video
I had mine custom fabricated. CX racing kit is actually worse than the stock intercooler as I found out on the dyno. Your better off paying for a treadstone or a cork sport unit and have a fabricator bend some pipes for you.
Awesome vid man, I’m thinking of running the st manifold. Nube question however, is this direct fit ? I want to go the meth injection route. All i would need is the manifold or do I need to buy the adapter as well?
You need to buy the the whole adapter kit as this changes the throttle body location. However, if you tell them that you are running meth they can modify the manifold adapter like mine in the video so you can have meth spraying directly into each individual cylinder which will increase performance and reliability over just spraying through the intake. Trust me, it’s worth it.
I love this video!! Been looking for a video like this. Actually this is how I wanna do it in my speed 6. I do have a couple of questions. So my goal is 500whp. Would you recommend a wider throttle body at all and if so corksport or focus st? Also did you custom make your intercooler piping?
You do not need to upgrade your throttle body to achieve that number. However, it does not hurt to upgrade. To achieve that number you just need to make sure you have a larger or one of the larger hot sides/exhaust turbines on your turbo of choice. A .62 a/r is not going to cut as it cannot evacuate the exhaust effectively enough. A .82 a/r or larger will definitely do it but it’s going to be tight against the firewall depending on what exhaust manifold you use. I recommend going top mount if it’s in your budget. It’s a high initial investment but trust me it will save you a lot in the long run.
Devin Obland yes I did a custom intercooler off my mustang. But you do not have to do a custom setup to achieve those numbers. However, you will find that v8 intercooler are cheaper and will do a better job then the more pricey cork sport units. So if you can find someone to fabricate one for you it may save you money and it will give you more headroom for power then the treadstone and corksport units.
Devin Obland CPE and Full Race exhaust manifolds are very nice units if your budget will allow. However, if you are in looking for something more affordable, I had great success with XS power exhaust manifolds both the internal gated and the external waste gate units. You can find them on eBay for half the cost and they come with a two year warranty. Spool and efficiency is greatly improved and you’ll pickup 15-20 more hp on a stock car and more if your modded over that factory garbage manifold Mazda puts on those cars.
Great information my brotha very detailed and helpful Is there any additional parts or modifications that need to be done to make this manifold work with the speed6 or is it a direct bolt on with the adapter
speedlife madzela thanks for your comment. So in order to make this work on your mazdaspeed, you will need the throttle body extension harness (due to its location), manifold, and a egr block/delete. These are all offered through damond motorsports and can be purchased as part of the kit.
Hey man and what do you think about the cp-e havoc, compared to the CS, Focust ST, JMF, I'm looking for a manifold with a good mid range, instead of peak power, but ny goal is to be around 550whp to 600whp with a GTX3076R GEN II V-Band or something similar
@@boostbaby2173Great information, appreciate that. I have one question right there BTW. Does the "focus ST manifold" refer to a Ford OEM Focus ST manifold rather than a custom intake manifold? And just add the Damond manifold adapter kit? Is this correct?
Hey I drive a mazdaspeed and i just ordered the damond motorsports adapter for the speed now the question I have is did u need more piping for your front mount intercooler (fmic) because I'm looking at a cc racing fmic to start off with but jus dont know if I have to spend a bit more for piping just want to know what would be a good route for it
You should not need any Additional intercooler piping. However, you will need the throttle wiring extension as thecthrottle body sits right in the center of the manifold as opposed to the side of the stock one. I would steer clear of any CX racing intercooler was they are not efficient and are worse then the stock intercooler. Go with any of the known brands, corksport and tread stone or do s custom one with a tread stone core. Also, if you want to save some coin on intercooler cores, use one like the b&g core I hand on mine for a mustang, it’s less then $300 dollars and will support up to 1000 whp.
I’m looking to buy an intake Manifold But I’m trying to keep the cost down but I want to run port injection to the head not meth so basically Tap into the existing fuel and run for injectors
speedlife madzela That you can do as well. It cost a little more but just specify to Damond motorsports that you want the port injection manifold and they will modify the kit for you so you can run just that. I was running methanol on a stock block setup so that’s why I had to get creative and basically build my port injection into the throttle body because Damond motorsports did not have the port injection kit at that time.
I'm asking because I don't want to run with meth yet and I wouldn`t like to spend 380$ on damond's kit. thank you very much. Congratulations it is a really cool video
ANDRES F.T.P that’s what the damond kit is....it’s a adapter bracket for the st manifold. So you would need to fabricate on me if you weren’t going to use there’s. It’s easier just to spend the money unless you can fabricate or know someone that does.

I had mine custom fabricated. CX racing kit is actually worse than the stock intercooler as I found out on the dyno. Your better off paying for a treadstone or a cork sport unit and have a fabricator bend some pipes for you.

You’ll need there adapter kit for the manifold to work if you don’t purchase the manifold from them.
No shit from Rochester as well do you still have your speed?
No it was totaled unfortunately
Does the split second controller connect directly to id injectors or do I need pigtails?
The split second controller should have the pigtails/harness coming from it to connect to the injectors to control them.
