      I think this is the most poignant part of what is happening in Africa. These are sovereign states and the people are being betrayed by their leaderships. Their resources should help benefit them, and improve their lives, education etc. What usually ends up happening is the resources are cheaply strip-mined by foreign interests, and now in this modern day, China. So the vast majority of the money made is essentially exported and they are left with the scraps.

    Al Jazeera should do some real stories on Qatar. Like all of the immigrants that are building Qatar and doing their menial work for crappy pay or benefits. You especially don’t want to do construction! Al Jazeera could break down their exact funding and relationship with the Qatari government, which is possibly why we never see any story critical of the Qatari government or they will focus on subjects the kingdom might like. What I personally would love to see is stories about the hosts of all the different segments and stories. I know the one guy was a former Jihadi who did time in an Egyptian prison for years after getting caught. He then says he’s a reformed jihadi and after doing many debates and shows appears as a regular host on Al Jazeera. Love it.

    how about valuable to technology minerals never paying less than 15 to 20% of the going international commodity rate to pay wages to the hard working labors ... the country can monitor the paid amounts for all mineral exports and where the amount paid is less than an established 15 to 20% amount, then the country collects the difference to make up the 15 to 20% amount and splits the recovered money 50 50 with the export sellers, and where the export seller splits total 50% by division 1/4 to the export seller and 3/4 back to the original miner cooperative, et al ~ the international buyer has loads of room to make more money as the minerals go up the consumption trail ... so, this suggestion makes great sense and high justice ...

  • @lincolnthinking
    @lincolnthinking 7 лет назад +5

    every mineral possesses telltale chemical compositions to prove its' original source ... so, it is easy to have international buyers pony up the investment cost to build assay centers and still retain a huge margin for obscene profits as sales go up the supply chain ~

I can tell these reporters intended to expose Rwanda as the smuggler but still the documentary ashame them when they say it is exported to the US and else where for telephone technology. That technology isn't in Rwanda and the minors in this video are Congolese themselves those some goose smuggle some of it through Rwanda.
      I don't see anything to blame Rwanda for if it pics some droplets from smugglers of Nabibwe, but its actually going to the US!

The better you have it, the more mature you are, the more vulnerable and weak become your responsibility. Elites can make money off their decisions and can decide to help far more than they elect to. the problem is the few with power lack soul power to give back to their own ppl....inhabitants of earth

      Actually its all about Africas Tribalistic nature and warfare. A nation divided can not stand. Tutsi's and Hutu's how many dead? White man didnt do that, Mugambe and his death squads last I checked he was Black. I could go on but Jocelyne Mombele said it all above "Its not outsiders its your own people." Until you come to that truth there is no going forward.

  • @lincolnthinking

    one suggestion is to create an international trade location where foreign traders can enter into open bid barter and contracts and get prices up for the purchase of the natural resources from the Congo that provide decent wages for the heavy labor involved in digging out the minerals from the ground ~ moreover, capitalism cannot be allowed to buy low and leave the miners as slave labor equivalents ...

    • @Conkuur
      @Conkuur 6 лет назад

      Africas biggest problem is Tribalism. You can have all the great ideas you want but if your nations are divided by tribal warfare its very easy to get taken advantage of by outsiders.
      Capitalism only works if its out of government hands. Like me and you could decide on what we want to buy and sell for to one another but throw in the government regulations and taxes and then it gets ridiculous to the point where Socialism can creep in then you get Venezuela.
      PS you would have no real need for diggers if you invest in excavating technology for mining. Look at any video of African mining its all done by hand which is ridiculous in this day and age.
