I was crying while recording this. This is result from me persuading him to use the orb before the battle when he didn't want to explode. Really liked the callback to Gale's projection for the resurrection protocol, and the pouch that is used for the protocol and the hastiness of everything. This hurt, a lot. I hadn't seen the resurrection protocol in this save, so I might try this again with my other save that is on act 2 later.
Is it different when he is offering to detonate on his own? I feel Gale generally uses the projection to deal with things that are emotionally too much for him, when he can't put on a cheery face of his own any longer. All the instances, the thing appears, are pretty tragic: Him having died while the orb is still a thread to kill a whole bunch of people should he stay dead; inviting you to a date while depressed and unsure if you even care for him a bit; when you bully him into joining the orgy at Sharess Caresss and now this. Thank you for breaking my heart with this, so my curiosity is satisfied and I never ever have to do this to him myself. I'll now think a bit about how joyfully happy he is in my save, gallivanting about with the vampire, fighting evil mages, stealing tome and looking for a cure for vampirism.
@@anska7475 I don't know since I have never had a save where he would be offering it himself, that's why I mentioned it. I'm not sure if he would have prepared his letter better, I doubt it but it would be interesting to know.
@@MUNMOMUU If you have him in your party, when the Emperor gives you the tadpole to transform before the finale, and you are in good standing with Gale (romanced or not) he should offer to blow himself up, so you won't have to loose your soul. You don't have to pass any checks but it is pretty clear that he does not want to die and is just acting out of his low self-esteem.
@@ВладиславБулаев-л3э LMAO well I would have punted my PC out the window before I would let Gale perma die in my paythrough. I spent so many hours telling him to quit asking me to let him sacrifice himself already because I was never going to let him.
Oh my god when Tara said: "What I wouldn't give to snuggle up on his lap one more time." I lost it, man this hurts so much. Gale was my best friend on my first playthrough and seeing how he was doing after not touching that save for a couple of months was so nice. This ending hurts so much, especially when you try to hug him :(
I literally broke down, when I saw the version of you try to kiss him, I forgot exactly what his protection says after something like "I knew there was a reason I loved you" and I started weeping
I was seriously considering making him blow up so I wouldn't have to fight the Brain in my Honor run, but seeing this... I suddenly wouldn't mind having to fight and potentially losing my whole run if it means I get to keep this man alive. GOD this hurts waaaaaay too much

His soul literally ceases to exist just like his projection said. Kinds hard to revive someone when their soul doesn't even exist.
