The best thing abou these "Developer Breakdowns" in killer Instinct is how you get to see the audience reactions whether if they are in the chat or as a live demo. It is quite enjoyable to hear every time they are like, "WHAT?!" or, "NO!!" or anything as such.
I don't know why I love the random stance change so much. It's kind of dumb but it looks really fun at the same time. It's really rare when developers are allowed to make really "Different" characters to play as. Most of the time you get Shotos, your basic stance changer or your classic Zoners. I feel like developers should be allowed to change things up once in a while.
Honestly considering how he is in Instinct mode, it does make sense to make him randomly change in between his modes. You know that once this gets in people's hands this week, people are going to do some really scary things with him.
Same here, the idea rings to me for some reason. It's a bit like playing Zelda / Sheik on Smash Melee or Brawl, but instead of switching out at will and sticking around to the same form (which, let's be honest, everyone does), the game switches you out on its own every once in a while, while still letting a bit of control on you. It also forces a bit of adaptabilty, so why not. Also, the "way" the switching works in lore stance and the "why" (only one head alive and the other is dead because Kan-Ra is a terrible mage), plus all the details going along with it (the brain. Just, the brain.) are disgusting. And I love it.
I see a lot of negative comments with only five dislikes. Strange. I really love this idea for Eyedol. So far I like just about everything from Eyedol. His design, his theme, his abilities, and the very clever way he is difficult to play, but absurdly hard as an AI boss. Imagine how hype it must be when you actually see a good Eyedol keep combos going right after a stance switch.
alot of people will dis like because they hate change, i was arguing with one person when gargos came out, he he hated hes new desine with a passion because he basically he looked to bad ass
I can see that being a reason for them to dislike. A horribly stupid one, specially when classic skins are a thing, but it's still a reason I can imagine nostalgic fans using. I'm all for negative opinions, but I do like hearing the reasons for them too. Even though I will never silence them like the softies on most social media that can't handle anything negative.
Sebastian Lopez I haven't finished the video yet But the biggest difference I've heard was that he switches randomly Which can either be pretty cool or annoying
I mean in my experience and alot of other people who play fighting games will tell you the stance being random even with you being able to manipulate the % for a change isn't a good thing same issue that Omen has the less RNG the better tbh it's gonna seriously cripple him because instead of having the limits one character type he will have the weakness of both characters in many situations and will very rarely be able to have access to the strength of being both character types IMO
I like the randomness. If you could choose, people would just stick with one stance, basically ignoring an entire moveset. People who don't like it would have probably done so.
The random switch between head stances reminds me of Tira's moods from Soul Calibur. Of course, punching yourself in the face to get a stance switch is much funnier than Tira bashing her head into her ring blade to change moods. Actually, both are pretty funny.
That may be inspiration for the concept of Eyedol's playstyle. The change was not this drastic, but for a boss character, it could work amazingly well.
turboguy7 Yeah, but the only real difference in the luck based moves he has, is that you will either take a bit damage yourself, or deal an extra hit on the enemy. Its kinda easy to miss since its so small.
Zappa from Guilty Gear can summon phantoms that gave him different tools but he had no control over which one got summoned. Also, he accumulated "stocks" with each someone to contribute to summoning his ultimate phantom which made him god tier. There's definitely a bit of Zappa in Eyedol too.
Man, that's a creative as hell character. Have to learn to play two different styles, but his attack power and range seem to be insane if you can get it down.
Personally, I love the idea of having a character that is both the best rush down in the game AND the best zoner in the game, but having these two characters get mad at each other, and switch at random. I'm not a fan of random chance in a competitive game unless it's handled well, and in my opinion this seems to be handled VERY well. It's an interesting dynamic of having to control this uncontrollable monster, and those that do have in their possession the best character in the game. But hey, opinions.
Men...gotta love the creativity that is put into the characters on KI, they create interesting mechanics and unique traits for every single character and make them all seem to interesting :3
"We'll give you one character with 2 awesome sets of abilities, but you can't choose which one you can use! It's totally random!" Wow, that's completely, utterly, fucking stupid.
While I agree on how stupid the randomness is, if we had free reigns on whether we wanted to be "all powerful rushdown" or "all powerful zoner" on the fly would also be pretty nasty
Adloquium Dubious That could have been corrected by simply weakening the character a bit. Flexibility in exchange for not so massive damage? Sounds good. Worked pretty well for Gen in SF4.
+DatShadyGuy it only switches enders not linkers your combo wont mess up plus after practice im sure you will be able to pick up stance switching combos
i like how everyone hates the fact that he randomly changes between forms XD guys, Eyedol is the best rushdown and zoner at the same time! if they didn't do this, he would be super OP. balancing is good for what i consider a good fighting game and i think this makes him more interesting and brings the story into the character mechanics... it's cool
0:54 - Oh great now he's two characters for the price of one? Like my post traumatic stress from the original KI wasn't severe enough now I gotta deal with this shit? Oh God, I can still hear that grunt he makes when he's stomping.......the sound of my nightmares..... 17:15 - After seeing all he can do I'm now hearing that stomp grunt even louder in my head, I think I'm starting to relapse hard here.....I need my pills......
15:17 - _"That actually combo'd?! That's horseshit!"_ That kinda sounded like Max, not gonna lie. I feel like he's gonna be saying that a *lot* when it comes to fighting Eyedol.
In English, "sounds like Max" can either mean the speaker thinks someone sounds similar to Max or the speaker isn't sure who is speaking and thinks it is Max. Based on the fact that the next sentence says "I feel like he's going to be saying that a lot...", the OP is probably saying that he thinks it was Max.
This...isn't arguing. Are people on the internet so sensitive that any time anyone has anything to say that isn't "I agree", or some variant, the immediate response is "Oh, these people are arguing." Mutsu asked a question, and it looks like they asked because either English isn't their first language or they were having trouble with the sentence structure. I responded. The first person to reply wasn't arguing either, just replying to you.
On top of being a really fun gameplay gimmick, it was also a smart design choice. In the original KI the Eyedol boss fight had both heads active just like his Instinct in this game. Limiting the player to one head at a time until they pop instinct balances him, but then the developers are free to use infinte instinct Eyedol as a single player boss and have him feel like an unfair npc while also staying true to his arcade roots
i tihnk its good he forces a stance change. makes people learn the entire character not just the rushdown half (which lets be honest would definately happen)
jayeruptus the one thing i am worried about it is switching mid combo. online good luck dealing with that as aganos thats some dormammu umvc 3 crap right there. meteors?
+RebelOfTheNorm242 No. Yhe switches happen randomly and they say the longer you stay in one stance the more likely you'll randomly change. They're basically giving you an incentive to switch manually more often, so if you don't want a random switch in the middle of a situation where you don't need the switch then you better jump back and forth between stances manually. It's pretty obvious if you watch the video.
Hopefully Gargos and Eyedol don't suddenly take over the Tournament scene. Mind you though that Gargos can still be taken down if used right, while Eyedol's flip flopping could still leave him venerable in a few match ups depending on which head is in control.
Same. So far the only games that are making one to buy a specific console are this one for xbox one, and Gravity rush 2 for Ps4 (you know, when ifs out).
I loved seeing this live at the Suite! Was a blast! Besides that, I love how interesting every character is in this game. Crazy characters that work with the combo system.
I wonder, if you stay as one head for too long and you try to do a combo but then his head switches to the other one automatically will it disrupt the combo or will you be able to adapt and try to continue the combo using the other head's moves?
I feel like this thing is like some pokemon in the effects of Slaking and Regigigas he's so OP you get an ability that nerfs you (spontaneous stance switching) I wonder if people can actually input fast enough during stance change animation to continue combos from before you switched it's also hilarious that as it is designed as a boss character, he can probably stance change at will when faced as one. I love that currently all characters(Aria,Gargos and Eyedol) that are designed as a boss has boss like properties that you can actually see as a player and also imagine the RNG based abilities potentially skewed towards their favor if they're CPU bosses. like say if Gargos's minions actually attacking as the CPU wills it
I gotta say that I wasn't too into Eyedol on first glance but after seeing what he can do I'm starting to warm up to him a bit. He looks pretty fucking fun.
+Leonardo Somoza RnG stance changes. A meter for each stance. Each stance plays the opposite of the other (rushdown vs zoning). Head split vs two heads. I could go on. Like him or not, this character is like nothing else. Don't be salty.
Why is his figure mirrored when he switches sides of the arena? When he's on the right he's supposed to have the red head on the right and the purple head on the left...
A lot of games do that (fighting games in particular). Game developers don't really have the time to properly animate which direction a character is facing and which items are on which side.
ok, i joked about it in the last video, but this guy is literally Cho'gall for heroes of the storm...."two" headed hulking dude in a loin cloth with one warrior head and one mage head and a hammer.
I don't know much about development, but wouldn't it have been better to have a button that's dedicated to switching the stances over randomly switching? Unless there is a reason for it within the lore.
well, for one it makes the character more interesting and unique. Plus, if you could actually switch manually with this character he would be extreme god-tier from the look of it.
Ok, love Eyedol but HIS BODY MORPHS BASED ON WHICH SIDE HE'S ON!!! His club is in his right hand on the left side, and when he jumps, not only does his club change hands, his ARMOR DOES TOO
Man you know what character will be perfect for Killer Instinct! Marius Titus from Ryse Son of Rome, He is a badass and do some great combos! with the black armor!
so he only switches after enders or linkers? i hope thats the case cause a switch in the middle of doing one move that the other head doesnt have would suck.
I like him. He's very well thought out. There's a lot of synergy in his design. Super glad they didn't add his whole ground-stomp thing where he grunted over and over and recovered health from KI1. That was the most annoying thing ever. Season 3 is pretty great, I just have two concerns. First, I wish there was a little more thought put into characters' normals. A lot of S3 characters are pretty mundane in that regard. Second, I hope that every S3 character gets their own stage at some point. I was a bit disappointed by Kim Wu's stage, but I think that there could be some amazing stages for the other characters. A Battletoads stage would be fucking amazing.
You know this is making me wish that Capcom Tecmo and Namco all just showed how new characters work like this rather then here's another trailer because I can safely say this is interesting and kind of cool.
+OfficialChunLi Ikr! This seems to be better then oh here is a trailer for this character that you will spend x dollar on and another trailer many weeks later more money 😡
That's a thing for all fighting games though. 2D fighters anyway. Not only is it easier, it's also prefered not to throw off the player when they perform moves
geene smith Currently, I think KI and Guilty Gear are the only 3D fighting games doing this. It's not terrible, but it's very noticeable for characters like Eyedol and Aganos.
He looks like an Orc from shadow of mordor and a demon from Doom stuffed tigether awesome I like ranged keep away and brutal in close brawlers two great ideas that work great together. Don't like not having control over stance switching but it looks easy enough to manage
I think when it comes to competitive fighters there shouldn't be things that rely on chance or randomness. I guess you could argue that it depends on the skill of the player to immediately adapt to the random switch, but I still find it to be a bit absurd.
The stance switching is pretty balanced and really doesn't interrupt playing. You just can't approach Eyedol as a pure rushdown character, high level players should be fine in managing and reacting to said switches. I've gotten MANY manual head switches from 1-2 punches which is really easy to get in ( esp with the ground bounces Eyedol has, or dropping his lightning/Meteor in Mage stance). I personally think it makes for more fun, it's why Killer Instinct is one of the more enjoyable fighters out there VS other fighting games, the hype can come at ANY point in the match.
90% of the time I'm with you, but I feel like they handled it really well with Eyedol. The rng hete doesn't determine who wins, it just determines how you're forced to play the character
First reaction after he said the stance switched randomly was that it sounds like utter bullshit, but having watched the rest it's won me over. Really cool character, fair play.
"That actually combo'd?!"
"That's horse shit!"
Oh, Max. I'd recognize that voice anywhere!
that wasn´t max
It was Turboware
Sounds like him though
lmao. horseshit XD
The best thing abou these "Developer Breakdowns" in killer Instinct is how you get to see the audience reactions whether if they are in the chat or as a live demo. It is quite enjoyable to hear every time they are like, "WHAT?!" or, "NO!!" or anything as such.

When I first heard about the random stance change I though, this is the dumbest thing ever I love it.
Well you do got someone like Mira who's health is always depleting,
Its kind of interesting to have an RNG Stance character..
Honestly considering how he is in Instinct mode, it does make sense to make him randomly change in between his modes. You know that once this gets in people's hands this week, people are going to do some really scary things with him.
i see what you did there
Same here, the idea rings to me for some reason.

This is the coolest idea for a fighting game character I've seen in a while. I also like the random element to him
alot of people will dis like because they hate change, i was arguing with one person when gargos came out, he he hated hes new desine with a passion because he basically he looked to bad ass
+StrawHatGraze
To be honest as long as all the boss characters continue to look like metal Warcraft characters I'm fine
They might dislike the character, but they don't dislike the video itself. It happens.
I wish more devs would do this. This was pretty cool seeing first hand reactions and stuff
"That actual combo'd?"
"Yes"
"Thats horse shit"
my favorite part
that's an amazing new mechanic you won't see that on Street Fighter
Isn't there a stance switching character in street fighter?
+tbonevideos23 ...not one like Eyedol.
Sebastian Lopez I haven't finished the video yet
But the biggest difference I've heard was that he switches randomly
Which can either be pretty cool or annoying
I mean in my experience and alot of other people who play fighting games will tell you the stance being random even with you being able to manipulate the % for a change isn't a good thing

IMO
Why is street fighter even a topic. SF has already established its universe and lore; no one can fit such a creative archetype.
I like the randomness. If you could choose, people would just stick with one stance, basically ignoring an entire moveset. People who don't like it would have probably done so.
Man, Billy looks powerful.
Hahah! Yeah, his mommy would be proud...
Billy is billy : o
Somehow......we think so.
I like his new Billy club
Lmao.

or dampirre when he flops some times
turboguy7 Yeah, but the only real difference in the luck based moves he has, is that you will either take a bit damage yourself, or deal an extra hit on the enemy.
Interesting.
Man, that's a creative as hell character. Have to learn to play two different styles, but his attack power and range seem to be insane if you can get it down.
Holy mother of gimmicks batman
I can't wait to try out this character.
It's high noon...
Juuzou DRAW
+Roberto Ruiz Justice ain't gonna dispense itself
+Roberto Ruiz RAWER
+Bushido Fork Well it's high noon somewhere in the world
Personally, I love the idea of having a character that is both the best rush down in the game AND the best zoner in the game, but having these two characters get mad at each other, and switch at random.

But hey, opinions.
Fighting Eyedol on Kyle is going to be worse than Dark Souls...
I get salty just by thinking about that
So mind numbing repetition then...
You will BECOME SALTY
EMBRACE THE SALT
Try NG+7 Farron keep.
The Boss Rage will be soooo real
Men...gotta love the creativity that is put into the characters on KI, they create interesting mechanics and unique traits for every single character and make them all seem to interesting :3
he's much more interesting than his original incarnation now. i'm glad they changed their minds about never ever making him.
Is it just me or does the video freezes at the 15:42 mark?
That was most likely the stream, it happens sometimes :P
Yes it does
It was, I was there lol
Yep, it does.
Eyedol basically the killer instinct version of Cho-gall from hots.
The "double headed ogre" thing wasn't created in HotS (or warcraft), you know that, right?
Think he was just making a comparison...
Brian Chinchilla Ya, I was :)
my bad then =)
But... That's not where he w- Oh forget it, I'll just go back to the retirement home
Looks awesome and I'm really liking the idea of two stances. the character animation also looks amazing good job Iron Galaxy.
"We'll give you one character with 2 awesome sets of abilities, but you can't choose which one you can use! It's totally random!"
Wow, that's completely, utterly, fucking stupid.
While I agree on how stupid the randomness is, if we had free reigns on whether we wanted to be "all powerful rushdown" or "all powerful zoner" on the fly would also be pretty nasty
Sebastian Lopez
Ooooooh, your words are so scary! The mighty keyboard warrior can't even use bad words because his mommy checks his RUclips channel!
*****
Variety is fine, but this mechanic will mess up combos. It happened for the devs during the video.
Adloquium Dubious
That could have been corrected by simply weakening the character a bit. Flexibility in exchange for not so massive damage? Sounds good. Worked pretty well for Gen in SF4.
+DatShadyGuy it only switches enders not linkers your combo wont mess up plus after practice im sure you will be able to pick up stance switching combos
1:00 you guys were like make a stance character no that stupid its two full characters
me: but but aria
Nah, that's different better Aria is THREE characters.
+ZionGamer lol yeah but what I was saying is they already had a stance character
kira_bane2 yeah I get what you mean, at least this one has an extremely different gimmick with the random switches.
+ZionGamer yeah its really cool I've never seen a stance character like him
kira_bane2 not surprising KI always has to bring something different
i like how everyone hates the fact that he randomly changes between forms XD guys, Eyedol is the best rushdown and zoner at the same time! if they didn't do this, he would be super OP. balancing is good for what i consider a good fighting game and i think this makes him more interesting and brings the story into the character mechanics... it's cool
0:54 - Oh great now he's two characters for the price of one? Like my post traumatic stress from the original KI wasn't severe enough now I gotta deal with this shit? Oh God, I can still hear that grunt he makes when he's stomping.......the sound of my nightmares.....
17:15 - After seeing all he can do I'm now hearing that stomp grunt even louder in my head, I think I'm starting to relapse hard here.....I need my pills......
this takes the term "why you hittin yourself" to the extreme lol, pretty epic character(s)
MAX, IF YOU HAD TO PICK BETWEEN. . . GARGOS OR EYEDOL??WHO WOULD YOU CHOOSE
Gargos the metal, badass, demon overlord. Obviously.
15:17 - _"That actually combo'd?! That's horseshit!"_
That kinda sounded like Max, not gonna lie. I feel like he's gonna be saying that a *lot* when it comes to fighting Eyedol.
That wasn't Maximilian.
Where do you read that he said it was max? Because i read that it kinda sounded like max...which means he knows it's not but it sounds like it.....
Or I could just tell you what I meant... but it's more fun to watch you all discuss and argue over something so inconsequential.
This...isn't arguing. Are people on the internet so sensitive that any time anyone has anything to say that isn't "I agree", or some variant, the immediate response is "Oh, these people are arguing."
Mutsu asked a question, and it looks like they asked because either English isn't their first language or they were having trouble with the sentence structure. I responded. The first person to reply wasn't arguing either, just replying to you.
The one dude in the back is cracking me up.
"That's horseshit!"
"WHY!?"
My sides hurt xD
This character does look badass and I can't wait to play him!
i jizzed my pants so hard seeing that Instinct
On top of being a really fun gameplay gimmick, it was also a smart design choice. In the original KI the Eyedol boss fight had both heads active just like his Instinct in this game. Limiting the player to one head at a time until they pop instinct balances him, but then the developers are free to use infinte instinct Eyedol as a single player boss and have him feel like an unfair npc while also staying true to his arcade roots
Remember:
#NotACyclops
i tihnk its good he forces a stance change. makes people learn the entire character not just the rushdown half (which lets be honest would definately happen)
Yup and then online all people would learn is zone lol
jayeruptus the one thing i am worried about it is switching mid combo.
online good luck dealing with that as aganos thats some dormammu umvc 3 crap right there. meteors?
+ubadman1 pretty sure they said switches only happen aftwr enders.
+RebelOfTheNorm242
No.
+RebelOfTheNorm242
but yeah no mid combo switches. that would really mess up the timing on everything.
So... Its basically a kind of Cho'Gal on Heroes of the Storm. On a fighting game.
THATS FUCKING AWESOME.
This character is probably the most insane in the whole game... What a way to wrap up Season 3.
I've seen this ten times but hey now I can watch it in a quality that isn't garbage, thanks Max.
I freaking love this character, i want to see him brought to competitive KI tournaments.
I remember when this game first came out and it's only gotten crazier from there.
Hopefully Gargos and Eyedol don't suddenly take over the Tournament scene. Mind you though that Gargos can still be taken down if used right, while Eyedol's flip flopping could still leave him venerable in a few match ups depending on which head is in control.
This game is the only reason I want an Xbox One.
This and rare replay are the only games I've gone out of my way to buy. The rest were either games with gold or bought for me
It's on Windows 10 as well if you have a good enough PC :)
+RekiWylls yes "if" you have a fairly decent PC.. xbox one is a much cheaper option which lets him play this game.
But what if he already has a good PC but wasn't aware that it was on that platform? Wouldn't it be cheaper than buying a console in that case?
Have not been this excited for a character in a long ass time. BEAUTIFULLY animated, model looks great, best VFX in KI (probably). Hot damn.
These devs are super cool. Showing off the moves and even answering the fans when a dude randomly feels like shouting a question.
i like how the heads switched places depending on the direction they are facing
Classic Eyedol looks so fucking cool :0
that's gonna be a crazy character to control and use fluidly. can't wait to see someone who works well with eyedol play.
ah memories of classic KI boss rage.
I wonder, if you stay as one head for too long and you try to do a combo but then his head switches to the other one automatically will it disrupt the combo or will you be able to adapt and try to continue the combo using the other head's moves?
I'm really digging the random stance gimmick of him. I really like that he's unique.
I feel like this thing is like some pokemon in the effects of Slaking and Regigigas
he's so OP you get an ability that nerfs you (spontaneous stance switching)
I wonder if people can actually input fast enough during stance change animation to continue combos from before you switched
it's also hilarious that as it is designed as a boss character, he can probably stance change at will when faced as one.
I love that currently all characters(Aria,Gargos and Eyedol) that are designed as a boss has boss like properties that you can actually see as a player and also imagine the RNG based abilities potentially skewed towards their favor if they're CPU bosses.
like say if Gargos's minions actually attacking as the CPU wills it
I have never noticed the KI just flips the models of the characters when the switch sides
And people thought Eyedol would be lame. I'm looking at you, Max.
If Eyedol stayed as the cheaptard SNK boss that he is in KI 94 he would be lame.
Just Rev well, yeah. There's no way a playable character would be like that though, at least in a multiplayer setting.
I gotta say that I wasn't too into Eyedol on first glance but after seeing what he can do I'm starting to warm up to him a bit. He looks pretty fucking fun.
that random stance change is dumb
i view it as one head gets mad when the other one is having too much fun and forces a change
lol
Balance reasons most likely.
+TheCaptainhowdy11 it will make him very difficult to use, but very ridiculous as an AI since the AI can predict stance change.
+Orophlacious “Hate is healthy” Exactly and I'm OK with that.
"The command grab does no damage" *On screen: 3%* ...Huh...
ill give an A for originality
and were will that originality be located???
+Leonardo Somoza RnG stance changes. A meter for each stance. Each stance plays the opposite of the other (rushdown vs zoning). Head split vs two heads. I could go on.
Like him or not, this character is like nothing else. Don't be salty.
I give your breasts a D.
Can't wait to pick this game up once they've completed everything. The devs did a damn good job with character variety unlike some companies.....
His retro costume is fan-fucking-tastic. WOW. So proud at the way this game turned out.
The randomness of this character is amazing. Give's the character more character
Interesting. Kind of a tira from a soul caliber situation. Can dig it.
WHAT THE HELL EVEN IS THIS CHARACTER
*Season 3 Main by default*
I don't know much about development, but wouldn't it have been better to have a button that's dedicated to switching the stances over randomly switching? Unless there is a reason for it within the lore.
well, for one it makes the character more interesting and unique. Plus, if you could actually switch manually with this character he would be extreme god-tier from the look of it.
Fabian Sandfuchs I guess that's a way to look at it. It's just so different that I was kind of thrown off by the decision. Thanks for the input!
It's for balance, since Eyedol is so good.
no, manually switching stances with out any risks would be absolutely broken
"THATS HORSE SHIT!"
It's also so players won't stick to just one stance and never change. That happens in some other fighters
the random element will make things interesting. not only reacting the other but to yourself, pro stuff
Ok, love Eyedol but HIS BODY MORPHS BASED ON WHICH SIDE HE'S ON!!! His club is in his right hand on the left side, and when he jumps, not only does his club change hands, his ARMOR DOES TOO
does the video freeze for anyone else at 15:42 just the video not the audio btw
Man you know what character will be perfect for Killer Instinct! Marius Titus from Ryse Son of Rome, He is a badass and do some great combos! with the black armor!
THIS'LL BE GOOOOOOOOOD!
so he only switches after enders or linkers? i hope thats the case cause a switch in the middle of doing one move that the other head doesnt have would suck.
I like his random stance change. makes him a bit more balanced, cause he doesn't look op enough as it is.
I like the idea that players have to readjust to his random form switching, puts more skill to the character
hey Max are you going to do week of eyedol when he comes out
you damn right he is
He should do 2 weeks, one per head.
You bet he will!!!
of course he will! this is too good to pass up X3
90% of that was the crowd shouting "WHYYYYYYYYY!?!?!?!"
and max saying " THAT ACTUALLY COMBO'D?! THATS HORSE SHIT! THATS HORSE SHIT!!" XD
+StrawHatGraze except I don't think it was by what most are saying
I don't think that was Max.
DarKnightSpider ahh it almost sounded like him and other people saying its him, thats something max would say though
A Battletoads stage would be fucking amazing.
thanks,speechless,love eyedol.
As a Tusk Player.
WHAT THE FUCK AM I GOING TO DO!?!?!
You know this is making me wish that Capcom Tecmo and Namco all just showed how new characters work like this rather then here's another trailer because I can safely say this is interesting and kind of cool.
Literally, every fighting game developer needs to do this. Then again, some rather do it for themselves.
+OfficialChunLi Ikr! This seems to be better then oh here is a trailer for this character that you will spend x dollar on and another trailer many weeks later more money 😡
Eyedol: for when you just don't want to know what you're doing.
Eyedol's heads literally switch sides whenever he's facing left or right. They should really get to fixing that for all characters...
That's a thing for all fighting games though. 2D fighters anyway. Not only is it easier, it's also prefered not to throw off the player when they perform moves
geene smith
Currently, I think KI and Guilty Gear are the only 3D fighting games doing this. It's not terrible, but it's very noticeable for characters like Eyedol and Aganos.
I actually like this new look EYEDOL!
He looks like an Orc from shadow of mordor and a demon from Doom stuffed tigether awesome I like ranged keep away and brutal in close brawlers two great ideas that work great together. Don't like not having control over stance switching but it looks easy enough to manage
15:15 This is the best video now.
So the split personality is kinda like Tira from Soul Calibur with somewhat random switching with ways to do it on demand.
anyone else noticed they never actually showed how much damage you take when you punch yourself
You take a minuscule amount of damage whenever you hit yourself.
I know its a small amount, but the health bar doesn't move at all(probably from practice mode being set to infinite health)
i prefer the retro version
***** that is good news ty for the reply
Eyedol's Instinct. Or, as it will come to be known, "The Win Button."
"THATS HORSE SHIT!" i died XD.
Is it unsafe when he switches heads after a combo? Or does it work like instinct?
It works like instinct by the looks of it. It would be stupid to be unsafe after damaging yourself to manually change heads.
Just show how powerful Gargos really is for defeating such a monster like Eyedol.
8:39 Trying to catch what flashed passed the screen :/
Wow! What a great spin on the character.
Already I see a problem. During combos the character will switch modes
I think when it comes to competitive fighters there shouldn't be things that rely on chance or randomness. I guess you could argue that it depends on the skill of the player to immediately adapt to the random switch, but I still find it to be a bit absurd.
Zappa from Guilty Gear had a similar mechanic with his ghost summons but he seems to manage pretty well.
The character is so absurdly powerful in either stance that the random is supposed to be the point.
I like it. Forces you to switch up strategies on the fly.
And now I get to punch Eyedol in the face until he dies!
No one is as hyped as when Rash was announced...
any new stagez coming? from the eyedol trailer it seems like its at least one!!
Hello Tira, how's Soul Calibur?
Don't. We aren't getting a new soul cal game for another billion years. Don't pull on my heart strings.
Namco did say something about Remaking Soul Cal
www.movienewsguide.com/soul-calibur-6-release-date-bandai-namco-tease-new-entry/248149 (I made a mistake about the remake thing, sorry)
Man, age was NOT kind to her...
TIL eyedol had a smart head. All I remember is him bashing me to death with his big stick while I dropkicked him over and over until he died.
are you planning on playing Gone Home? Great game.
Couldn't they just make it easier to switch modes or is it just to balance him up?
First reaction after he said the stance switched randomly was that it sounds like utter bullshit, but having watched the rest it's won me over. Really cool character, fair play.
I'm just waiting for the "Week of Eyedol" to see this monster in action
