I have used this before. Usually, I just drop one side of the foot off the edge and sew, which gives a similar result without changing the plate. It's a trick I learned by sewing on my straight stitch machines. Thank you for the excellent videos. You're such a talented teacher.

Does this apply to my Janome 9450 as well? Another question, I have the Janome rulers for quilting. Could you or have you done a video how do to ruler quilting beyond straight lines? Also love the cat making an entrance. Thank you for all your tutorials. So delightful and helpful. 🥰🧵🪡

I understood your explanation which is very interesting. However, I wonder when to lower the feed dogs (page 36 n°3), or press the double feed button (page 36 n°4). I don't understand the difference and when it should be used. And another question: I can't import a .jpg image that is in my key to import it into the machine. Can you help me ?

The feed dogs are what feed the fabric under the needle - they are located under the needle plate. You lower the feed dogs when doing free motion or ruler quilting so they don't move the fabric along. The "double feed" button is the one you press when using one of the AcuFeed Flex feet - the AD or HP2 feet only. Questions about importing images into the machine - for the screen saver? - should be addressed to your local Janome retailer (I'm not a Janome retailer).

I know you are using the M7, have it tried it on your 9450?
