Not defending Neve but something tells me that would be another video…at least I hope. I say this because this video itself is 30 minutes and noticing how platform algorithms don’t always push to their specific audience per video, uploading multiple videos helps the platform algorithm push the channel as a whole. It’s a crappy way to operate but it is what it is…and again that’s just me being hopeful. Cheers.
Thank you for giving my time back. This is indeed the only video I’ll ever need to watch. I have stopped watching videos after this one. Is there a stereo L/R version of this or do you need two units?
who exactly is this for?! if you really want to modernize old technologies, why don't you add a variable high pass filter to the 1073LB, or something. the analog side of this unit can be relevant for decades to come, whereas the digital side will be obsolete in 5-7 years for sure! what company "genius" thought: "hey, what a great idea would be to combine a timeless analog design with an ever-changing digital one into one product!"??? how can such a prominent firm be so out of touch with reality🤦 in 10 years the digital side will only be adding negative value to the unit (even much earlier, but i'm being nice). pay $3000 now, and good luck trying to sell it for even 1/3 of that amount in 10 years(even less). there's a reason Rolex doesn't add LCD screens to its watches
At 18:10 we see how to process a mono track (Bass) via SPX-D, what about processing a Stereo track? Can anyone please help me with an explanation? Thanks in advance!
On the back, one is mic in, the other line in. They're not stereo inputs. The rear jacks are duplicated in the front which is switchable between front and back jacks.
@@lespaul2550 gotcha. thought maybe line input on the front might be 1 and line input on the back might be 2. but this makes sense as its a 1 channel unit.
I would be kicking down doors with a wad of cash in my hand if you made a stereo version, even if the eq was linked to both channels. This being MONO is a crazy let down.
Yeah that would be rather nice, the 88M is worth a look too. I have an 8801 with the digital expansion card and it is absolutely beautiful, just sounds expensive!
My plan is to use Studer A827 and plug it into a 88m or the Steinb Axr4 (32 bit fl) (not sure which sounds better, I think 88m) with Ableton (preliminary).
ITried this unit recently. Its a great sounding 1073 with nice converters which results in a nice recording via Adat into a UA Apollo X6. The problem is the user interface for the digital path is quite poor and complicated to operate. The manual isnt clear about integrative use into other devices like an Apollo. And of course its not stereo. Might be better off with an analog SPX which is stereo
Without a wordclock INPUT, I could never use this in my rig. There's no way I'm going to slave my high end clock source off this. It needs to be the other way around.
Both preamps from my Neve 88M interface have died like 6 months ago and it was out of warranty and they said "send it to us" but well, I'm in another continent, it would cost like crazy to send it over there... This never happened to me even with much cheaper interfaces. I always plug my stuff into power conditioners and my studio has an AC turned on 24/7, so it was a faulty unit for sure. Be careful with these Neve interfaces.
Fantastic but... about time Neve. Audio encoding interfaces first appeared in 1989! The digital usb option should standard in all your gear by now... i.e not additional/optional cards.
this is awesome. and this in stereo with two line outs to bring back in on the line inputs for mixdown, ohhhh baby. i'd get that in a heartbeat.
Great stuff. Just sort out your quality problems and design/build weaknesses and I'm in.
Truly a classic design good features, I’m tech savvy audio nerd!
I wish for a stereo version without the EQ
Amazing unit 🔥
No audio to hear? Adding actual audio examples in product overviews are crucial.
Why, so you can judge on your phone?
It’s a 1073 channel strip….

What audio are u looking for to judge through phone speakers?
@@G.C.D4Real* plugs his focal mg headphones into his cellphone xD

Enjoy this deep dive on our latest unit

I noticed on the I/O it showed analog inputs 1 and 2. There are two analog inputs but only one channel? Is there a stereo input on this thing?

Just buy 2 then
Why not just use an Universal Audio Apollo with the Neve 1073 plugin and then add a La2A, and Studer plugins . And your done
please the same with the 8801 !
Yeah that would be rather nice, the 88M is worth a look too.

I cascade gain my 8801 into my 88m. It’s quite a remarkable sound with minimal effort ✌️
Is it possible to use it with the 8816?
Now do the 8801!! ❤

Pricing this at $2,995.00 is completely unrealistic. An audio interface with very limited I/O, only one headphone output and no MIDI... ouch 😬
Does it work with Windows 10?

Sorry but $3000 for a mono unit is frankly absurd. Who is this for?
What I would give to see this new DI circuit on some updated version of the OPX...one can dream. :)
audio interface???

Why does the future make no sense? Mono Audio interface is just another level of confusion

Yeah but it's AMS..... Doesn't have the right Transformer Way overpriced... Even the video is all talk and no show.. What the heck?!?
$3000 - yep, no.
another overpriced interface
