    My best interface ever. I sold my Apollo, because sofware is boring and sounds flat. The Neve 88M is just perfect for tracking, especially on the road. Plug and play, sounds big.

      @@wildmilne I agree. The sweet spot for me was my Audient ID44, 2 preamps with inserts, plus 2 line level ins, and 2 sets of outputs. I would love to see something like that from Neve.

      @@TheArtisticFlavor I mean it has ADAT in and out, so you can expand it to 10 inputs and 10 outputs, and choose which pres you wanna have...
      If you're gonna buy Neve products, you're probably already well-equipped. There are tons of clones of a Neve 73 pre, and Heritage Audio makes the interface you're looking for. Neve knows that. This is more geared towards people who have top of the line ADAT pres like Focusrite's ISAs for example, who wanna have an interface at the same level of analogue tech for their B room/home studio or on the road.

      @Brian Matos have you had any issues when using the DI input?
      There’s a video from Spectre Sound Studios where even when lowering the DI input gain all the way down the converters still clip with humbucker equipped guitars regularly and always clip with guitars that have active pickups.

    • @youcantdothisjack
      @youcantdothisjack Год назад

      @@confessionsofahandyman Yea, if it is not sent out to a compressor that can soak it up, it'll clip with most hard playing on most guitars at full volume. The same guy said they are working to implement a pad. I hope they can without me needing another unit, and it is just when DI is selected, I can turn it on and off with the 48v button. Here's hoping. With something to send it out to soak up the gain though, you can get some lovely crush out of the preamps. It is pretty great. I feel most people, getting this, at this price, have outboard, and they wanted more quality than the Audient. At least that was my case. Love a guitar DI'd to a 1176 type comp, and gained down not to clip. It is lovely, really. So, for me, personally, it doesn't throw me off the whole unit.

    @Neve there’s a video on RUclips from @Spectresoundstudios reviewing the 88m and he comes across a serious headroom issue when plugging in humbucker equipped guitars. He has the input on the 88m all the way down and the input still clips the converters pretty regularly and constantly clips the converters when using a guitar with active pickups.
    Has this issue been addressed? The is the only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger and ordering one.

    Looks nice. Can you put through the whole mix (analog) "from the outside workstation" and do you have to lift the preamps level to get this "Neve sound" or "the sound" is already there regardles ? Is this just for recording individual instruments? The dynamic range is 113 db (through preamps) which I think is enough to put the whole mix through, or not?

    Can we expect that in future you will make an audio interface for singer/songwriters with one mic input, one instrument input and fitted with the same preamp and converters as in the Neve AMS 88M; a cut down version that is more affordable and which is more economic than having the necessity for buying a decent two channel preamp and a good DAC to connect to our budget conscious interface. I'm sure that those who want their music to sound good won't thank you enough. We like our music to sound good just like we like to dress nicely without breaking the bank.

      You don't seem to understand the difference between input and output. By the time the signal reaches your computer, it has passed the interface's preamps.
