My first time making candle i saw the sinkhole i thought i didn't do it well, thanks for your video.
Thank you for the video. You answered several of my questions in the short yet very informative one video. Some of the other videos are too long and still don't answer my questions. Thanks again!
This video was really helpful for me since I just started making candles and my first candle got a sinkhole thanks for helping me out 👍☺️
Thank you for watching my video and your support!
I have the same issues with sinkholes. After I top off to cover a sinkhole, the wax creates a line around the candle in a place when it was poured over.
You answered my question perfectly, to day is my first day to produce a candle. I did everything nice felt confident, until candle wax leaked from the bottom of my metal candle mold, honestly i used painters tape its what i had lol. Thank You, Great Content, New Subscriber, keep videos coming! 💯
Thank you for the advice. What I’ve found is that the grade/quality of the wax is a major factor. I’ve only been candle making for about a year. When I ordered my first batch of soy wax, I didn’t do any research into brands etc and stupidity assumed *all* soy waxes were created equally. That wax was terrible and nearly put me off making candles all together. The tops were *very* uneven and the sinkholes were huge and regardless of what I did, there’d be sinkholes. I did more research on waxes and ended up buying what’s regarded as a very good quality wax (which actually turned out to be a tad cheaper than the rubbish stuff) What a difference! Beautiful smooth tops each time, haven’t had one sinkhole. I still have about 2kg left over from the 5kg bag of bad soy wax and just use that for melts now. I now use coco/soy and para/soy blends and have learned which waxes work well and are quality and which are not.
Which wax brand do you use?
How did it slide out😮
It could be that you are pouring to fast or to slow.
You could have added air bubbles in your wax by either using a spoon to mix and not a spatula...or it could be that you heated thebwax to much and if its soy wax then youbwent over 200°F.
It could also be the fragrance you are using.
It could also be the wax your using. Look at your wax. Feel it. Is it dry? Can you break it apart in your hand? If so its dry and should never go beyond 185°F. If the wax is moist and barely sticks together then the wax is perfect but if you can pick it up with ypur hand amd squeeze it and it sticks together like crazy then its really wet and needs to go to at least 190°F to 195°F But NEVER EVER go over 200°F.
If we only fill the sink hole and doesn't fill the rest then it will not look even
Yes please i cone across slways this problem but i keepon poring still thete??
thank you!!! loved how you explained things! i love your candles
I use a heat gun; much faster than a hair dryer, BUT, I still get uneven tops. No matter how many times I melt and cool, poke and get the air out, there still seems to be air bubbles coming up. I recently switched from 100% soy to a coconut soy mix. Both have issues. It’s very rare I get a candle that cools perfectly. So frustrating. Also, I am often making quite large candles, in jars and containers, up to 40 ounces, but even my shot glass candles had sinkholes. I’m about to give up 😞
That's my problem with the sinkhole😊 but i don't want to gave up yet😅
Thank you for your advice!! 😀
Yes m beginer i want to learn more technique
I have one more problem in my candles if you can help me with. I use the bubble silicon mold and i get lines over each other on the final product. I hope you understand me because my english is not that good. Thank you
You dont need to keep the wax. All you need is a heating gun. That one tool can be your best friend.
