See my uncle was a nam vet.! For some strange freaking reason that crazy bastard loved his nephew . ( Yes, I was his favorite everyone knew it. I think it's cause they knew we probably shared the same I q. I guess) but I remember that damn song cause I thought we did good and so did he too until Darla ( the new wife)came home.! Apperantly the neighbors wife seen what the hell we was doing or already knew what we was doing and called her at work so she comes home right after we tripped the wife and the front half of her shed was gone, I thought ir was cool as hell until her and 4 cops come through fhat back fense. 😅😢 Sorry he's been gone for several years now and , fuck I miss my best friend . Joe Egan reminds me a little of Joe Cocker in this video. Steelers Wheel was definitely in their prime in this video. They aren't given as much credit as they deserve. They were an incredible band.
i think its so cool how they signed Jesus on to play drums on this tune ;) I mean I know he's in demand - so to give his time for this must have been a big deal back in the day

I truly think that he was a master musician, composer, and writer back in his "heyday" so to speak in the late 70's and early 80's. I can still listen to his music all day long and never tire of it. I have introduced younger people to his music and they too have become fans of Gerry. May you enjoy Gerry's music for many more years to come. Take care.

@paranoid19851 This is a great video. I just wish Egan and Rafferty would get back together and do a reunion tour as Stealers Wheel. Egan did play on many of Gerry Rafferty's albums after Gerry split off from Stealers Wheel. They remain friends to this day. In fact I just got Rafferty's newest album (2009) and Joe Egan is referenced many times on the album as a contributor.

Cool. Thanks for clearing that up man. I ripped my 'Very Best Of..." onto my hard drive last night. They rank pretty high with my other favourites of 1972: Zeppelin; E, L & P; Focus; Elton John. They should've had more success. I think the album covers didn't help them, and my (then-new) vinyl of their eponymous debut album had a few jumps on it (cheap pressing?) Great band, up there with the Best of their time/those years ('72--'75). Thanks again samsonboy48
