@@Cupid_Stunt If you have a look at the article in "Which Car", they claim; "In Mexico, the BYD Shark is priced from 899,980 pesos (AU$80,500), but local pricing should start closer to $70,000 before on-road costs - similar to the diesel Ford Ranger Wildtrak, Toyota HiLux GR Sport and Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain utes."

@@Cupid_Stunt Yeah, bit of a bummer, but you do get V2L so for camping that will save buying and installing a battery system, solar panels etc. I guess the 1.5L is direct injected to give that kind of performance, so that brings it closer to diesel efficiency and the dual electric motor could potentially deliver diesels torque at extremely low RPM. As for longetivty, they are pretty good these days. Maybe not the 180,000km design life my diesel 4x4 has, but close enought I expect. However its all on paper ATM, so got to take it with a grain of salt until some real Australian testing is done with a 2.5t trailer and off-road conditions. Then some longer term testing. That will be very interesting.

Why does NOBODY talk about the elephant in the room - differential locks?! If this is the same DMO platform as the one used in Fang Cheng Bao Leopard 5, Shark may too have both front and rear ones, which would be a huge deal, cos outside of a handful vehicles in the world, half of which are Chinese, nobody offers that. And if there aren't any (since there're apparently no controls for them) than it's a huge disadvantage over the competition that offer at least the rear locker. Why every reporter just ignores this topic?!
