What I love about true artists is that you can’t fit them into one clear box. I love when people discover that the same group that brought you Into the Eyes of a Stranger also can switch it up entirely and level you with Silent Lucidity. That’s the power and palette of an incredible artist such as Queensryche and the vocal performance of Geoff Tate in particular! Enjoy!
Take Hold of the Flame live in Tokyo next. Geoff Tate (and the band) was on fire at the peak of their powers. With that said, their album Operation: Mindcrime is their masterpiece and a must listen from beginning to end to understand the arc of the story and the meaning of each song in context.
Love the reaction! "SPREADING THE DISEASE" is one of my favorite Queensryche songs. "BREAKING THE SILENCE" and "I DON'T BELIEVE IN LOVE" are 2 more great ones. $pecial Thanks for the pigtails!!!
Glad you picked this live version. Queensryche was one of those bands who's live songs sometimes would be better then the studio version. I'd recommend that you check out the live version of Roads to Madness "
The intro to the song was a separate track - 'My empty room'... which kicked off into 'Eyes of a stranger' - which was Queensryche's first MTV hit in 1988 from their concept album 'Operation: Mindcrime'... their first platinum selling record. This performance was filmed in 2001 for the 'Live Evolution' live CD and concert video... Geoff Tate (vocals) was at his peak and there were no major overdubs for the live tracks... The entire live record was comprised of tracks from their 1983 EP to their 1999 album 'Q2K'. It was, unfortunately, the 1999 - 2002 tour without original guitarist Chris DeGarmo (who had left Queensryche in 1997) and his replacement was Kelly Gray (the guitarist wearing the cap) w/ the original band - Michael Wilton (guitar), Eddie Jackson (bass) and Scott Rockenfield (drums)... Kelly Gray was fired in '02 for alleged drug abuse. Mike Stone (guitar) joined Queensryche until 2007 and has recently rejoined the band; he was featured on their next concert videos - 'The art of live'... and 'Mindcrime at the Moore'. Geoff Tate was fired in 2012 after an altercation w/ the other members... Todd LaTorre (vocals) is the current Queensryche singer and he's an incredible talent... but only guitarist Michael Wilton and bassist Eddie Jackson are the original Queensryche members. Drummer Scott Rockenfield left in 2017 and has not returned - Casey Grillo (drums) has been w/ the band since then. Geoff Tate performs and tours w/ his solo band nowadays and performs a lot of Queensryche songs live.

My favorite metal band!! This album is brilliant!!
Try putting on the headphones when this album Minecraft came out. Smoke a joint, a purple haze. Crank it up and my mind just went by. I buy I was completely blown away
2003 I got a dream come true.I got to see queensryche Dream theater together together pine knob Also called d t e energy music theater but the fans and the bands still call a pine knob they did half hour set together each singer did lead vocals on the opposite bands song incredible
So ya like Geoff Tate's voice!?! Saw them back in the mid 80s and OMG! Imagine how powerful his vocal abilities were.. Saw them again in 2000 when they toured with Iron Maiden and then I saw them AGAIN in Las Vegas when they toured with Judas Priest in 2005. Then I saw them do Operation Mindcrime in its entirety during this 2007 tour. Awesome. Every time. If you have some time to kill, try listening to Miindcrime because it's one of the last concept albums ever recorded. Rock on!
OPERATION LIVECRIME: I saw Queensryche on this tour! I play drums and Scott Rockingfield is one of my favorite drummers of all time! I even got my double bass TAMAS and Zildjian cymbals in the same configuration and I have chains ⛓ stands to hang my cymbals!
I am so glad you did this live version. Although probably not the best performance but no less outstanding. This was the end of the original Queensryche lineup. There's so much more to go back and experience.
Here are some more Queensryche for you Rebeka)) 1: The Lady Wore Black [Queensrÿche - Live in Tokyo 1984/08/05], 2: Queensryche - Silent Lucidity (1991 Music awards). 3: Queensrÿche - Queen of the Reich (Live 1984, Korean Subtitle), 4:Queensrÿche - Walk in the Shadows (Live '91)
Beautiful song from "Operation Mindcrime"..I love this album. I recommend you also listen to "Silent Lucidity", a beautiful rock ballad that I would gladly dance with you, gorgeous Rebeka. Ciao Ciao
Hi, extremely beautiful Rebecca. I've been a fan of this group since they're beginning EP they call them. Most incredible band ever. It's Always. A pleasure seeing your beautiful face
the entire album was a masterpiece... I have a hard time deciding which of the two leading albums(IMHO) by Queensryche is better, Operation Mind Crime or Empire, made even harder by the remastered version of OMC done in Abbey Roads Studio. The drums and bass play from this band is so unique sounding, almost as unique as the talented vocalist. Great reaction, looking forward to more from you.
Why she sound like Gal Gadot? ❤ I saw Queensryche and Motorhead in a little venue in Santa Monica, the Civic, back when... I was near deaf from being onstage with Lemmy by the speakers for 10 days. Geoff Tate is amazing, their videos are classic, thematic. I'm a counter tenor soprano, I learned how to sing from Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdinck, let my diaphragm do the work, not to ruin my vocal chords. I'm a weird vocalist, I can cover Martha Davis, Rindy Ross, Smokey Robinson, Rick Emmett, Steve Perry, Elvis, Mariah Carey. I somehow got my mother's high vocal pitches. My favorite songs are Queen of the Reich, Take Hold of the Flame, I Dream in Infrared, Roads to Madness, The Lady Wore Black... Problem is, Chris Degarmo has structured the music just so that you have to decide to either listen to the music, the drumming, the guitar work, or just appreciate how well Geoff compliments the bands sound.
Yes his rang was amazing.i surprised I have not heard of this band. Good reaction Rebecca.❤😊 It happens I delete stuff all the time pornographic send a message to somebody you don't press send.😊
I saw someone comment that this is where Geoff lost his vocal ability. Well all I can say if that’s what losing your voice sounds like then please God take mine away now 😂
I was at this show. The DVD recording they made doesn’t sound nearly as good as this show did. I can spot myself in the crowd in a lot of shots on this. It was quite an experience being a part of it. The whole thing seemed like a whirlwind, as it all happened so fast, the show was announced in early July, bought the tickets the following week, the show was at the end of July, the double CD version was released at the end of September, and the DVD and listening party with the band was at the end of October. Such a cool time in my life.
Well its unfortunate but you certainly picked a version of an older band here. I suggest to watch Queensryche from the tears of 85 and 03 and then id stop. Geoff's voice was done not long after his solo album. His voice in his prime which was around 90 or so was top 5 all time in rock history. I was blown away every time I seen them guys live, easily the best live band id ever seen and ive aeen some legends.
basically you only react to rock and roll, because you never reacted to (nightwish), siphonic metal band, which has the best vocalist ever, (floor jansen)
I feel like the Operation:LIVEcrime version is the best version of this song. The vocals might be a little better on the studio version, but musically, that version absolutely slays!
Only Mr. Geoff Tate can make a metal song truly speak and tell a story, his delivery is so unbelievable 🙂
I think he was already losing his voice here.
@@Ilikeryche yes but he is still able to do queen of the reich in this show
Another great pick Rebeka ! Incredible vocal on an incredible song ! Talent on the 🎤
I love this band...I went right out and bought their first 4-song EP, back then (I think in '83), after hearing Queen of the Reich.
Same here
Absolutly amazing song! 🎸🤘

Wow, I never seen this performance. 2007, Still sounded Damn Good.

Your black hair and eyelashes are stunning!
Such a beautiful Woman indeed.
Great job, Rebeka!
You look fabulous.
Along with Dream Theater, the fathers of Progressive Metal.
Great song, band and reaction, Becks.

You've got to have Fates Warning in that group, too.
Great song and reaction. Thanks

One of my favorite bands
OPERATION LIVECRIME:
I saw Queensryche on this tour! I play drums and Scott Rockingfield is one of my favorite drummers of all time! I even got my double bass TAMAS and Zildjian cymbals in the same configuration and I have chains ⛓ stands to hang my cymbals!
Even though this song is 36 years old, it still sends that rush as soon as it starts. 🙂🤘

A pleasure seeing your beautiful face
Merci ! 😊
🌼Thank you so much. I appreciate it very much🌼
Take hold of the Flame! Live! But love this too!
Operation: MINDCrime is an amazing concept album, and shows off the strengths of the band.
the entire album was a masterpiece... This is the end of the Operation Mindcrime album. Listen to the whole thing if you want to understand the story
I saw someone comment that this is where Geoff lost his vocal ability. Well all I can say if that’s what losing your voice sounds like then please God take mine away now 😂
Definitely prefer the original line up over this one. But nothing lasts forever.

The original video is better. His voice is more powerful plus you get all original band members.
check out empire it has subject that is now more real today than when it was recorded🤔
basically you only react to rock and roll, because you never reacted to (nightwish), siphonic metal band, which has the best vocalist ever, (floor jansen)
I have seen them twice tates Voice is better alive I think
Join Tatism - the new religion and the only one that makes any sense.
The studio version of Eyes of a stranger is far better than this one.
I feel like the Operation:LIVEcrime version is the best version of this song. The vocals might be a little better on the studio version, but musically, that version absolutely slays!
