They put me to work with a lad , Adam , who was a Christian. He was about 30 yrs old , married and we made great friends. As I kept coming to work hungover , sometimes with cuts and bruises from drunken fights etc , Adam and another Christian started praying for me to know the Lord Jesus. Chris , the other Christian , was a former alcoholic . One Sunday he took me to church , then to his home for lunch with his wife. She told me of his old ways , the stories were funny , but I guess they spoke to me too. So one night on a late night street outreach I prayed a heartfelt prayer to the Lord , the first time I'd ever prayed like that. Praise God , I've never regretted that night . Now I'm happily married and still loving the Lord Jesus .

i am an atheist that would love to go to atheist church. a lot of them are even humor based. I'm thinking about getting one going in my area as i live in the south and there's a lot of us that are outspoken so a community of atheists would be amazing. i rarely ever get to have an openly godless conversation with someone face to face.

Religion is what we submit ourselves to and invest the greatest amount of ourselves too. Anything we place before the true Almighty is an idol, including ourselves and becomes "our religion." It is impossible to not serve a "God" because by definition the word means Mighty, powerful, strong, and there is always someone over who exercises power over us. +Devin Daniell he's naturally biased as a Christian, therefore can/will not dig into the Christian belief system with as much ease as he can and does the atheistic system of thought. He makes fun of Christians in a cute way, but when he digs into atheism, even though he does it in a pretty cute way, he touches on some pretty weighty points (no one loves all the children of the world). Anyone ever wonder why Christianity is one of the most controversial subjects in the world? Or why the Christian God is the only God who's name is used as a swear word? Foober Dooge I thought this video was amusing, humorous. I was brought up in Christianity and went to church each week. I have discovered the ministers will only tell you 20% of the history of religion or the history of Bible scholarship & miss out many key points. I have found it really interesting reading through the many Wikipedia links and other websites and RUclips videos which look at the kaleidoscope of possibilities. I think it is about knowing the whole story. I think a perfect loving god would either take people to a happy ever after or let them cease to exist. If there is no supernatural realm then we will cease to exist. This point of view means there is nothing to worry about. Religion has invented problems which don't really exist. Much of religion is about using intimidation and appeal to authority (a deity) to assert rules and ideas. Without an imagined god there is still the desire to protect your stuff by making laws & rules and delegating the enforcement to police & army. If you want to get on well in civilized society you need to play by the rules, if you damage other peoples belongings you know they are going to get back at you: loss of job or freedom. Probably there is something in the focus of,"I am loved, I am valued by...someone...nearest & dearest....or that failing.. a god" but what about self respect ?

Is anybody old enough to remember Mike Warnke? I was still a Christian back during Warnke's heyday, and I always thought he was a talented comedian. After the scandal broke, I remember wondering why he felt the need to make all that stuff up-- he was talented enough to succeed WITHOUT a fake backstory.
I was an atheist as a child. I went to church every Sunday forced to by my grandmother, but i started to see truth in the biblical message. Israel is an actual place, Jesus was an actual historical figure. God actually exists in created things, love life and relationships. Even evil people who kill 100s of people have a conscience. This is spiritual design and showing we are made in God image and likeness. Jesus Christ saves.
I hate it whenever people say agnostics are just fence sitters or they can't make up their minds. Agnostics know what they believe, and it's that it's not possible (well, at least while you're alive, not sure after you die) to determine whether there is a god or not. A deity doesn't have to be "god" as per most people's definition. It could be something completely undetectable that's beyond our comprehension and is utterly different compared to our current religions. And unless there's some sort of afterlife, it's impossible to know for sure.

I love Tim Hawkins. I wouldn’t look to his comedy to determine what other people believe (I’m an atheist who is so much happier after leaving religion behind), but he’s a comedic genius.
I'm an atheist, and I appreciated his humor. He doesnt' appear, at least in this sketch, to be directly slamming atheists, but rather the concept of "Atheist Churches", and what would go on there. Atheist churches aren't a thing, except as a mockery, sort of like the FSM and the Church of the FSM which makes a mockery of Theism, from the celebrations to the religious headgear. I'm an atheist because I haven't seen anything yet that would prove to me that a god/gods or God exists, but I'm not into mocking Churches or religions. I see the wrongdoing in many churches, but accept that religions and churches are believed in and worshiped by human beings and, no matter whether or not an infallible being exists, none who worship him/her/it are infallible, and so, wherever it interests or angers me, I'll speak, work, and act out against humans using religion to perpetuate and perpetrate their crimes against gullible believers, using that very gullibility in which to choose their victims.

Anecdotal stories, contradictory writings of ancient people thousands of years after the events written about and your gut feeling might work for you, but I prefer scientific evidence, something observable, testable, repeatable and which can make predictions.

In what way does this show a misunderstanding of atheism? You can't misunderstand atheism, there's literally nothing to misunderstand. Atheism is the belief that God does not exist. Therefore, you must come up with some other way to explain existence, and these songs pretty accurately represent the atheist scientific explanation of how humanity and and reality came to be. Even if they weren't it's just meant to be funny. Christians are tired of always being the butt of the world's jokes and just want something to laugh at.

Atheist here and yeah, this was funny. I'm not threatened by people having a laugh at my expense, why? because I have no faith to defend. I don't "believe" in science, I accept the fact of science. When you understand this, you come to understand a great many things. That said, humour is subjective; some may take offense but, for myself, I chuckled. I guess you could say I'm more secure in my acceptance of facts versus the insecurity of those who protest at the mere thought of my laughing at their god.

It is, in fact, incumbent upon Christians and people of faith to prove God exists since they and they alone insist he exists. That's how reason and logic work. Now, given that you belong to a cult (all religions are cults as defined), I suspect you will try to rationalize some excuse to perpetuate the false narrative that atheists have to offer proof; which as I stated, is not obligatory in the least. The use of the word ' church' has been used biblically to describe the followers of Christ, and also in present time to mean the building where people who profess Christian belief come together. For atheists to call their meeting place a church is kinda awkward and funny, so he's making jokes as if atheists would have church service just like Christians do, except without the existence of God, as they so believe.

He makes fun of Christians in a cute way, but when he digs into atheism, even though he does it in a pretty cute way, he touches on some pretty weighty points (no one loves all the children of the world). Foober Dooge I thought this video was amusing, humorous. I was brought up in Christianity and went to church each week. I have discovered the ministers will only tell you 20% of the history of religion or the history of Bible scholarship & miss out many key points. I have found it really interesting reading through the many Wikipedia links and other websites and RUclips videos which look at the kaleidoscope of possibilities. I think it is about knowing the whole story. I think a perfect loving god would either take people to a happy ever after or let them cease to exist. If there is no supernatural realm then we will cease to exist. This point of view means there is nothing to worry about. Religion has invented problems which don't really exist. Much of religion is about using intimidation and appeal to authority (a deity) to assert rules and ideas. Without an imagined god there is still the desire to protect your stuff by making laws & rules and delegating the enforcement to police & army. If you want to get on well in civilized society you need to play by the rules, if you damage other peoples belongings you know they are going to get back at you: loss of job or freedom.

I was an atheist as a child. I went to church every Sunday forced to by my grandmother, but i started to see truth in the biblical message. Israel is an actual place, Jesus was an actual historical figure. God actually exists in created things, love life and relationships. Even evil people who kill 100s of people have a conscience. This is spiritual design and showing we are made in God image and likeness. Jesus Christ saves.

I hate it whenever people say agnostics are just fence sitters or they can't make up their minds. Agnostics know what they believe, and it's that it's not possible (well, at least while you're alive, not sure after you die) to determine whether there is a god or not. A deity doesn't have to be "god" as per most people's definition. It could be something completely undetectable that's beyond our comprehension and is utterly different compared to our current religions. And unless there's some sort of afterlife, it's impossible to know for sure.

I just found this today and even as an atheist it gave me a good chuckle. I like how this guy included songs into his act it's pretty creative.
he does a ton, Tim Hawkins was one of my favorite comedians (and still is) growing up. As an Atheist now, I am happy that his stuff is still soo funny.

I'm an atheist, and I appreciated his humor. He doesnt' appear, at least in this sketch, to be directly slamming atheists, but rather the concept of "Atheist Churches", and what would go on there. Atheist churches aren't a thing, except as a mockery, sort of like the FSM and the Church of the FSM which makes a mockery of Theism, from the celebrations to the religious headgear. I'm an atheist because I haven't seen anything yet that would prove to me that a god/gods or God exists, but I'm not into mocking Churches or religions. I see the wrongdoing in many churches, but accept that religions and churches are believed in and worshiped by human beings and, no matter whether or not an infallible being exists, none who worship him/her/it are infallible, and so, wherever it interests or angers me, I'll speak, work, and act out against humans using religion to perpetuate and perpetrate their crimes against gullible believers, using that very gullibility in which to choose their victims.

Anecdotal stories, contradictory writings of ancient people thousands of years after the events written about and your gut feeling might work for you, but I prefer scientific evidence, something observable, testable, repeatable and which can make predictions.

In what way does this show a misunderstanding of atheism? You can't misunderstand atheism, there's literally nothing to misunderstand. Atheism is the belief that God does not exist. Therefore, you must come up with some other way to explain existence, and these songs pretty accurately represent the atheist scientific explanation of how humanity and and reality came to be. Even if they weren't it's just meant to be funny. Christians are tired of always being the butt of the world's jokes and just want something to laugh at.
@@inkmaster5480 it definitely is a misunderstanding, it implies that they are brainwashed that they "just believe what darwin says" it also says "no one loves the little children" as if they aren't loving people, it also says "there's no reason why atheists exist" which assumes that all atheists are purposeless, which is of course not true at all. If you have ever met someone who was an atheist i feel like these steroetypes should be obviously untrue. This is not a good display of christiniaty and it is even worse that everyone claps as he sterotypes and misrepresents an entire system of thought. I'm not even an atheist but it's just not cool to misrepresent a group of people that way and have eveyone cheer for you. Those songs implied that atheists are unloving, brainwashed, and purposeless. And I do think it is wrong when atheists make fun of Christians - to just disrespect anyone’s beliefs or to be a all dismissive of someone else’s beliefs is to me very dangerous no matter who you are - and as much of a shame t is jay Christians are mocked it is no better to mock and misrepresent atheists I don’t think - the reason this bothers me is because I have a lot of Christian friends who seem to take this view of atheists seriously - that theya re all angry and purposeless and it is upsetting to me to see a prominent christian figure be so dismissive of atheists - it upsets me in an equal way that seeing a prominent atheist like Richard Dawkins upsets me - both are troublesome I think

Atheist here and yeah, this was funny. I'm not threatened by people having a laugh at my expense, why? because I have no faith to defend. I don't "believe" in science, I accept the fact of science. When you understand this, you come to understand a great many things. That said, humour is subjective; some may take offense but, for myself, I chuckled. I guess you could say I'm more secure in my acceptance of facts versus the insecurity of those who protest at the mere thought of my laughing at their god.

Science doesn't disprove God's existence. It takes more faith to be an atheist.
@@Convexhull210 Science has no obligation to prove anything in regards to God. Why? Because Science makes no claim regarding god other than to say there is no hard evidence of its existence. It is, in fact, incumbent upon Christians and people of faith to prove God exists since they and they alone insist he exists. That's how reason and logic work. He who proffers the positive MUST make the argument, not the other way around.
Now, given that you belong to a cult (all religions are cults as defined), I suspect you will try to rationalize some excuse to perpetuate the false narrative that atheists have to offer proof; which as I stated, is not obligatory in the least.
Finally, you clearly don't understand the concept of atheism so, while I know you're not intelligent enough the understand it, I will try to explain. You see, atheists make no assertion that there is no god, we merely point out that there is yet no proof of its existence and therefore see no point in living our lives as if it were true and most certainly not based on the Bible given its many contradictions and inhumane precepts. Show me definitive, incontrovertible proof of a supernatural deity and I'll change my mind on the spot. Therein lies the difference between atheists and people of faith; atheists will accept new information in the form of hard evidence and alter their views accordingly, whereas people of faith, even when given new facts/evidence, will refuse to even entertain the notion that they could be wrong. Atheists have no faith, but they do have facts.

@Sarah Hudson This is accepting. It's called comedy. The use of the word ' church' has been used biblically to describe the followers of Christ, and also in present time to mean the building where people who profess Christian belief come together. For atheists to call their meeting place a church is kinda awkward and funny, so he's making jokes as if atheists would have church service just like Christians do, except without the existence of God, as they so believe.
