- G’day guys and welcome back to another episode!
I’ve taken a dive down the budget bfs/aliexpress ultralight baitcaster rabbit hole and found myself a few goodies! If you have any questions at all please drop them in the comments and I’ll get back to you.
Reels:
Soloking Acura 50 pro
Kingdom micro monster
Rods:
Lurekiller 1.4m ul trout rod
WinsCraft Fuji ultralight ul glass rod
I highly recommend getting on ebay and picking a shimano or daiwa bfs reel that's used and comes from Japan for another $40+ just to avoid any of the issues the china reels have. You could get a daiwa tatula for $100 + shipping and that's a W imo. I picked up an og daiwa aird100hl for $80. That was a $280 reel when it came out. Ebay is a good place. But be like me, if you see someone is about to win a dope reel for cheap with one bid on it, don't snipe it cause there's tons on there and then we all win.
Cheers mate! This was just a bit of a much around to see when the super cheap Chinese reels were like haha. I’ve got a bfs and SE conquest that I use normally!

yea there is definitely a difference reel to reel, their are certain reels some guys hate and have problems with while other love them. A recent example is the Histar Aurora Air
That seems to be the only real downside to them which for the price you can’t complain about too much!

Great video mate. So do you recommend the micro monster? Been researching for 2 reel. Dark wolf and micro monster but can't decide which one to pick
Thanks mate! Bang for your buck you can’t go wrong with the Micro monster. I’ve seen a lot of reviews from guys that have both and a lot say the micro is better than the dark wolf despite being a copy

Thanks for watching man! Both rods were purchased off the aliexpress app. The timber handle one is the ‘lurekiller’ and the glass rod is called a ‘WinsCraft ultralight glass’

Have you tried throwing super light lures on them? 1gram and below? Would be really interested to know if they can cast super light plastics etc
I haven’t personally mate but if you jump on to that bfs page in Facebook I’m sure someone on there will have given it a go!
Always enjoy your videos, we've got a few Ali bfs outfits too but have come across a good river bass rod, still find Daiwa and Bones rods better. Your right they are light but I can't help liking my Calcutta and Gekka more. Look forward to on water session 👍
Thanks mate! Totally agree, I can’t see too many scenarios where I’ll be looking to pick on of there up over my conquests haha. I do really like some of the rods though. Figured the reels were worthwhile sharing for those interested in giving BFS a go 👌🏼
Definitely Thumbs up for budget bfs reels my boys run haibo elite, feather lite and cormorant. Id would like a sub 6ft rod that's tippy for finesse when chasing river bass but have enough backbone to handle 40cm+ fish. Plus, Short enough to aid backhand cast. So if you come across 1 share your thoughts 👌

No doubt man 😂 I do think I’ll find it hard to pick these up over my conquests a lot of the time but definitely see myself buying and using the rods a lot more

The Micro monster is definitely my pick mate. They seem to be easier to tune and feels better quality

Question: spool is heavier on the MM isn’t it?
I believe so mate. They run a short spool shaft in the Acura to help reduce weight I think. Having now owned both for a while though the MM is definitely the pick of the 2

Its a good budget reel. Problem only at stardrag, not really precise

I think you got a bad Soloking. My drag cranks down well. In fact, I caught a 4.5lb largemouth bass on it today using 6lb line. The fish wrapped me around stumps twice and jumped completely out of the water but the reel performed flawlessly. I was very happy. I also have the micro monster but haven’t gotten to test it on a big fish yet. The fit and finish is also superb for the price. About to buy another for $26 (!) after coupon.
