I feel like whole team manuscript vs team letter ordeal would be over pretty quickly if lowen just asked verity's editor if whether what she told verity about writing through a villain's perspective was true.
It's also weird that the editor didn't come forward and tell lowen about the manuscript in case it was found while lowen was going through veritys things
SPOILER WARNING Verity’s letter was too convenient and I think she was lying about Harper’s death being an accident and about Jeremy knowing about the manuscript. She wrote the letter hours after Lowen and Jeremy did it in Jeremy and Verity’s old bedroom/while they were sleeping in there and she locked them in. Of all times to write a letter to prove her innocence, she chooses to do so AFTER her husband sleeps with another woman - the same woman who she knew had her manuscript. Verity probably knew it was only a matter of time after Jeremy and Lowen slept together that Lowen would show him the manuscript. Her letter was her last attempt to prove her innocence before she either ended up dead or in jail and she knew it. How long was she pretending to be in a vegetative state before she decided to write that letter? Her timing was too convenient, she knew what was coming.
Good point. What convinced me Verity was lying about everything was the fact that Verity's parents basically told Jeremy that "bad things happen to evil people". Verity's own dad told that to Jeremy when they found out about her accident. A time when most parents would be devastated. That says a lot about what kind of person she really is. She must have done something horrible in the past that the parents were clearly aware of. On top of that, if Jeremy really did run their car into a tree, Verity claimed she was in the passenger seat and wasn't wearing a seatbelt. That means on impact she would have went flying into the windshield leaving plenty of evidence. The problem to her story is that Jeremy moved her body after impact to the drivers side. Then Jeremy walked home. Supposedly unscathed. Are you kidding?? The police would catch on immediately that her body had been moved. There would be obvious signs that someone else was driving and had moved her body. There's no way he could get away with it. But he did so she lied.
i remember starting this book without knowing how crazy it was gonna be and then just could not put it down. i never knew I liked thriller until I read this 😫
dude when i read this book i had no idea it was a thriller and thought it was gonna be like any other colleen hoover book so imagine my surprise when i was reading this at 3am
@@veronicaaguilo8327 yess and did you also noticed that she started calling verity's office MY OFFICE?? also I feel like lowen was trying to be verity like idk if on purpose but while reading the manuscript she started to fall in love with the IDEA of Jeremy I think and when they were going at it she recollected what verity wrote about him in bed....
@@fernandaacosta9425 I hadn’t noticed she was calling it HER office- but yes, it definitely did feel like she was trying to replace verity in his life and definitely fell in love with the version of Jeremy that Verity had written
Wait I just realised Lowen was always dying Corey couldn’t separate her from her books. WAHT IF THAT HAPPENED WITH LOWEN like she started falling for manuscript Jeremy.
There is nooo way the letters where real, what kind of psychotic woman honestly writes a fictional version of her daughters death in which she murder her instead to ‘cope with what she’s feeling’. Also, i just dont trust Jeremy either, idk why i cant put my finger on it but wayy too suspicious. ALSO did anyone else notice how Lauren was starting to act like verity, especially the way she bit in the exact same spot as verity on the headboard and wanted to make the marks deeper wtf
Let‘s be real - all of them had a screw loose 🤯 I mean, he killed his wife, who pretended to be vegetative and "rewrote" their children‘s death, and gets with the woman who basically took over his late wife‘s life 🙄
let’s not forget [SPOILER ALERT DONT READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE BOOK] that in the letters she said she loves her son and was planning to run away with him to protect him but how did he end up with his chin full of blood you tell me?? plus why did she hid the knife afterwards if she wasn’t guilty of anything and kept it in the floor?
It's hard to put it in words how I feel when I get notified that steph posted. You are Literally my favourite and comfort person. Nothing could ever go wrong w Harry Styles, Taylor Swift Steph and books.
This is the type of book you have to read multiple times to truly figure out what truth you believe in cause all the small details are insane, how everything is connected and twisted. Colleen’s mind idk how she does it!
Spoilers: I loved this book it was such a page turner, personally I’m team manuscript. There’s a page where Lowen describes how no matter how good of a writer verity is, there is no way she could right such horrific shit like that. Another evidence is the scar on Harpers cheek (I think it was Harper I’m not sure which twin it was) like where did that scar come from? If it was antagonistic journaling it means everything was real but written in a way where she appears evil, but when she tried aborting her babies, what was the “real” situation? Like what was she doing if she wasn’t being “evil” I don’t know if that makes sense but same goes for Crew and telling me to hold his breath. ALSO WHEM VERITY SAID “I had to” AT THE END, WHAT DOES SHE MEANNN?!!! IF SHE WASNT EVIL THEN WHAT WOULD THAT MEAN LMAO Lowen and Jeremy- I didn’t really like their relationship because I hated him cheating at first, I mean at the end I figured verity deserved it but still their relationship is just eh to me. My fav character was crew overall lmao
I agree, and when Crew was eating with Lowen and he bit the knife bc he was afraid he said too much… doesn’t sit right with me:/ I just finished the book and I’m overwhelmed 💀
yeah and also on the manuscript Verity wrote an argument she had with Jeremy about her lack of interest for Harper, and later on it kinda gets confirmed cause he talked to Lowen about how Verity 'never really understood her' or tried to understand her. also, i agree, Crew is the best lol
I just finished this book today after starting it yesterday and OMG I am also so confused😂 I LOVED it but I am team manuscript bc: 1) if Jeremy had read the manuscript before, why would he trust his wife enough to let Crew be in a room alone with her, especially after the knife incident? 2) I don’t think you could write something so detailed and horrible about your own children unless it were near truth 3) Jeremy saw Verity’s stronger love for Chastin and was skeptical and distant after Harper’s death. 4) Why would he have tried to kill her before (as the letter said) then cared so sweetly for her in her vegetative state? If he had already read the manuscript, why would he act so surprised by it when Lowen gave it to him and all of a sudden decide he wanted to kill her again? 5) Verity may claim that as a writing exercise in her letter but faking a coma/ vegetative state is a huge example of her being extremely manipulative and crazy! 6) she decided to write the letter right after Lowen and Jeremy got together- I guess to interfere with their relationship in the future. 7) Verity had a digital and print copy of the manuscript but NO disclaimer that it was a fake writing exercise- she claimed at the end that she was going to drive into a tree and that’s exactly what she did? I think Jeremy is suspicious so I am still up for debate on some of this but I am definitely leaning towards Verity being the biggest psychopath here. There’s some other messed up problems in this book I’m still confused about: 1) as steph pointed out, why would Lowen EAT and flush the letter rather than just going to Jeremy and talking to him about it? They have already been through so much and now she can never get it back and will be the only one to carry that information, wondering if it is true. 2) how the heck did it take her so long to show Jeremy the manuscript after all the creepy things she saw and learning about Harper’s death?! 3) the fact that they killed Verity together and then act like they will get a happily ever after as if they’re not both crazy for murdering someone lol There’s probably more but my brain is still processing this book sooo…😂
I have a REALLY good theory I'm neither team manuscript nor team letter. Hear me out. - I think the manuscript tells the truth. Verity was really a psychopath. But I believe the part where she writes about Jeremy knowing it all along and trying to kill her. - There is no point in her writing the letter in the first place if she didn't want anyone to read it. She wanted Jeremy to read it, to manupulate him. And there is no point in writing about the day he tried to kill her if it's a lie. It was meant for him to read it. Hence I think that part of the letter is true(also when lowen saw her through the monitor, she was in her hands and knees probably trying to take out the letter for him to see) I MEAN THERE'S LITERALLY NO POINT IN HER WRITING THE LETTER IF A PART OF IT WASN'T TRUE. -the reason I think the manuscript is not just her antagonist diary is because no normal human being will be able to write about their own child in such a cruel way, especially after one's death. And there are a lot of clues leading up to it, like crew being scared of her enough to bite down the knife so he doesn't have to speak and the scar on their daughters cheek. - verity is not only the manipulator in this story. Jeremy is equally calculative and manupulative. He wanted to start a new life with lowen. He brought her into his life, his house while he took care of verity to show lowen how much of a good man he is. He wanted lowen to read the manuscript to feel sorry for him nd his life. Lowen herself says at one point that she is falling deeply in love with him not because what he shows him, but because of how verity has written him in her manuscript. -but I think he didn't knew that verity was faking her coma because that's the only thing that justifies him leaving crew alone with him. Also when he realized she's faking it, he immediately silenced her coz he didn't want lowen to know that he already knew.
i think your jeremy theory is really good but why lowen tho? ik he said he liked her books but he didn’t ‘feel a connection’ w her until the day at the coffee shop so the meeting w her for the co writing thing must be pure coincidence if he fell in love w her at the coffee shop,, unless he did what corey did which fell in love with the idea of lowen bc of the main protagonist in her book but idk if it’s too far fetched
he didnt immediately silence her. I feel like she shouldve acted differently when she opened her eyes. She didn't act confuse in any way when he held up the manuscripts "again" and asked if he killed Harper. All she said was "Let me explain." Like what? Then after she seen him punch the door she tried to run...
I think she wanted Lowen to read it so she wouldn’t stay with Jeremy. Verity’s main obsession in life was Jeremy so it makes sense that she would want to scare her away
If we're team manuscript, it means that everything in the letter was an attempt at a cover up, meaning Jeremy hadn't seen the manuscript before Lowen showed it to him. However, all three of them were definitely insane in their own ways
-spoiler warning- - - - I think the manuscript was the truth. There’s to much evidence showing it’s real. From the way Crew would get really quiet and even bit down on the knife so he would haven to answer Lowen, and when he was like “mommy says I shouldn’t talk to you” Verity wouldn’t say that if there wasn’t something to hide.
she got something to hide. she was trying to escape, remember? and she was also trying to fake her illness. why would she want her secrets to be discovered?
verity probably said that because she wanted lowen out of the house. she would creepily stare at lowen which was basically a warning for her to get the fuck out of the house
the way this book messed with me. when i finished i truly didn’t know what to think. it took me a while but i’m team manuscript and i try not to think about it too much cuz then i get confused again
I was team manuscript until someone brought up some really good points. If she's as evil and narcissistic as she's portraying herself there's no reason -why she would kill her kids and then make herself look comotose for the rest of her life -while watching her husband hook up with another woman -while said home wrecker goes through her stuff What kind of life is that to want on purpose? Is that the life a supposed narcissist dreams of? Watching her family move on with someone else making her irrelevant? No she had something she needed to do before she left. Lowen stayed for Crew, rifling through shit all night because she needed to get her stuff and get the heck out. Crew clearly loves and trusts his mother above anyone else so that should say something. She also kept staring at Lowen, creeping her the fuck out, basically warning her to leave this house. Literally ANYONE would leave in that situation but Lowen is living her dumb main character moment i guess. HERE'S WHY YOU CAN'T TRUST JEREMY: -Though you can Verify events through Jeremy we forget he's literally not a reliable source of information, he knew everything the entire time and he faked not knowing just so Lowen would stay. -He lied from the beginning telling Lowen that his wife read her books when Verity didn't know who the fuck she was. Smells like he purposely wanted to create an affair with his wife in the next room -Jeremy already read that manuscript and all he needed to do was confirm everything in there because he wants Lowen to believe that Verity is actually that sick and twisted. -Plus, he actually thought KILLING someone or orchestrating an accident was the right thing to do. Imagine that for a second. A husband resorting to murder, no matter what the wife does, why is that his first solution? HE'S FUCKING CRAZY. I would never leave with a man who does something like that. -Once he knew she wasn't faking he immediately went to kill her so that she is never able to speak her truth. He did all these things just to fit his agenda. -This man scared his wife so bad that she faked a disability to save her damn life. You should never be scared of your husband murdering you. Enough said he’s a fucking red flag. I think the true horror may be that Lowen just left to go live with this man that she quite literally knows nothing about who may be even scarier than his wife because he acts innocent when he is way better at hiding shit. Lowen will probably defend this man to the death. She herself doesn't have a good moral compass and will enable his behavior because she’s a people pleaser who never has any confidence in herself judging by how she's lived her life thus far. Out of Jeremy, Lowen and Verity I’d say Verity is the least evil out of the three. Both Jeremy and Lowen have actually done terrible shit and we’ve witnessed it. Every thing Verity has supposedly done is speculative, with no proof. How are we gunna say Verity is for sure the worst when she had the least chance to explain herself. SHE WAS SILENCED.
And Lowen is literally insane too! She purposefully got pregnant by putting the pillow under her with a man she barely knew!!! She wanted to steal Verity’s life so bad, it’s creepy. Why did she eat the parts of the letter with his name on it? She didn’t care to find out the truth! She just wanted him to start a new life with her and that’s all that mattered
this is so good and so true! i def think Jeremy is the true villain of the story and i honestly think he might've faked both the letter and the manuscript
SPOILERRR I believe it was antagonistic journalling, mainly because of the fact that Jeremy already knew about the manuscript the whole time Lowen was there and pretended to get upset all over again when Lowen showed it to him so he had an excuse to finally kill her AND because of how wrong it felt that Lowen came into this woman's house and hooked up with her husband, kind of using the manuscript as justification for why she thinks it's okay. Also, if Verity kept ideas and drafts for books everywhere in her office Jeremy surely knew that manuscript was there and that Lowen would eventually find it. Considering Jeremy read it he could have just fed certain points from it to Lowen to deepen her suspicions of Verity along the way. Idk I just don’t trust men LMAO
but we only heard that jeremy read it through verity’s letter, so if she isn’t telling the truth in the letter, then who’s to say she’s telling the truth about jeremy reading the manuscript??
@@kelseybholder But to be fair Verity's letter was addressed to Jeremy so everything she said in the letter concerning him has to be true or else he would never believe what she wrote. However, you could also argue that the letter was never meant for Jeremy but rather Lowen which doesn't make since to me personally but to each their own
@@sadieprothro952 i personally believe that she set it up for lowen to find the letter, but addressed it to jeremy to further manipulate the situation and make lowen second guess jeremy and everything that happened
But see, firstly if it was an antagonist journal, still NO mother can write about killing her child with such perfection. Secondly, in the letter, Verity stated that Jeremy was the one who tried to kill her with the car accident. But you're telling me He left without leaving ANY evidence proving it? Verity told us that she wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was in the passenger seat, meaning that if the car had such a big impact then she would've hit the window or the dash board leaving her with an injury to the head, and no blood fell on the passenger side??? Jeremy, even if he was wearing a seatbelt, suffered NO injury that would make the police suspect him? Like no fingerprints, no small cuts on his fingers from the glass???
(Spoiler) after reading the book I didn’t know that it was open ended I thought ohh the letter is right but then I started hearing other opinions one of them is that verity written the letter to make Lowen feel guilty cause she knew she won’t show Jeremy the letter just like how she didn’t show him the manuscript for awhile. I’m team manuscript cause verity is manipulative and crazy
I loved loved loved this book. It was bat shit crazy but so fun. I was screaming and gasping the whole last third of the book. It has me on a major thriller kick now.
@@soumyaa4230 the house across the lake by Riley Sager is also about a woman checking what's up with some famous couple, its insanely good and scary way better than verity tbh
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER How can you actually believe Verity was the bad guy? It makes zero sense. The technique used in the book is called "unreliable narration" which means that all you read all the way till the reveal at the end is untrue. Now, as a reader, you discover the information as Lowen discovers them. Bear in mind, Verity, in her autobiography, says that she started writing to "forget how much she missed Jeremy". Remember? Her books was famous because she wrote from the prospective of a villain. Jeremy is the villain. Now, let me explain why the "abortion tentative" was unrealistic: if you were to stab yourself from the bottom up, you would bleed out. Let's say that she did in an attempt to miscarry: why does anyone think that would leave a mark on the baby that, at 3 months old, is the size of a peanut? Plus, by law, you can abort before the 3 months mark. She wasn't at that stage so she could get herself in a clinic and simply get a pill and get it over with. Jeremy would not have known because for starter they are not married and for seconds there is doctor/patient privilege so the doctor couldn't say anything to Jeremy. And to those that are saying "even her parents are saying she is evil": of course they are, she got pregnant before she even got married, she had sex outside of wedlock. Her family is extremely catholic, which means that for them that is a capital sin and she deserves to rot in hell because of that as far as they are concerned, which also explains why they never even visited their grandchildren. Jeremy knew of the book, he asked "where did you find it" and there was no track of it on her laptop, which as Verity explained was deleted. Also, she left the letter in a place where none had access to it, as she kept it with her precious knife which she kept as some sort of self defense, i believe she pulled it out a night just in case Jeremy came to kill her. Otherwise why would she have a knife hidden under her floor? The woman is terrified of her husband. if she wasn't, why would she fake it? If she was that desperate to have sex with her husband, why would she not say she was fine and try and recover the marriage? She could fake another pregnancy if that was what ticked her husband. How old can she be? She was 22 when they met, I think 24 when they conceived the twins. the kids were about 3 when Crew was born and Crew was 5 by the time the twins did. Which means she was about 32. Plenty of time to have kids. Jeremy would have not met Lowen and all would have been great. Why did she have to pretend of being in such a shape? If she really thought that all that tied her to her husband was attraction, the same attraction she worked so hard to maintain by not breastfeeding, by training 2x a day at times, by eating right and what not... Why would she want her husband to think that she was brain dead? For a while she wasn't even with her husband cause she was in a sort of a nursing home. It would have been so much easier to say "Hey, I am doing great, I want to go home". Lastly, when Crew said he told her to hold his breath, I don't believe it was as the boat was turning but after, I think CH didn't explain it very well but it was more as if she was swimming with him that he told him to hold his breath, cause that is what would have kept him alive whilst she was swimming him to safety. And it makes more sense for her to swim with the youngest kid cause at 8 (the age Harper was roughly when she died) you know how to keep yourself afloat, it is a bit of an instinct as well. BUT she got caught in the net, which meant the net tangled on her leg and dragged her down. Hence the death. Very last point: how can you say it is convenient that Verity wrote the letter? She hid it in the floor, where she knew it would not be found. If she wanted it found, she would have left it anywhere for it to be found. There was no guarantee anyone was going to find it. Lowen herself found it just because she heard Crew speaking about his drawings. If Verity was really scared of Lowen speaking up, she would have gone and left Crew with his father: from what she wrote in the manuscript she was not maternal at all if not with Chastin. So yeah, she could have just taken everything, cash out the money from the shared back account and leave that same night. The problem is: either you believe everything on the autobiography, or you believe nothing. You can't pick and choose what to believe.
I actually agree! And also how did Jeremy read those manuscript in mins if he started from the beginning and also in the new chapter of Verity how can Lowen watch Jeremy kill Patricia. And also Patricia was innocent so why da hell did Jeremy kill her to hide the truth? To protect his family? I think Patricia knew something about Jeremy that's why she looking at Lowen some what weirdly. And also i think Crew behaviour is getting worse cuz of Jeremy for some reason
SPOILER WARNING PLS SKIP i think verity did it.... like also if jeremy smashed the car with verity in it, wouldnt he have injuries as well?? she was definitely lying in her last note. and jeremy noticed that she favored chasten so that leads me to believe her manuscript was true. theres no way you can write about such horrid things about your own children without actually feeling them
Dude exactly but I don't understand why did Verity not hurt the author. I mean for someone who has gone to the extent of killing her own child it doesn't make sense that she didn't do anything when she literally saw her husband being intimate w the author
Yea but verity was pretty confident in her letter that jeremy knew about the manuscript that means jeremy was sus too bc he acted all shocked infront of lowen
This was my second Colleen Hoover book, and I can’t tell you how many times I swore. Like the letter at the end… she COULD be telling the truth…BUT she COULD just be lying. Who knows….
The way you always said “I’m scared, I’m so scared” makes me want to read Verity, because I can’t stand scary things. I’m very glad I watched this video tho, now I know that it’s probably not really fit for me:)
definitely recommend you reading it. i was up all day reading and was absolutely shocked with everything that was going on and couldn’t put it down. the scary parts had me shook. the ending is a twist and i definitely think you’ll enjoy it.
i think you should read it. i usually avoid scary books as well but it wasn’t so bad. BUT i definitely wouldn’t read it home alone, late at night like Steph did lol
I first had the thought that Verity was lying about her injuries before it was even mentioned by Lowen, and what made me think of that was the fact that, when Verity is “injured” she gets Jeremys attention, it’s not just Crew then. And she had repeated over and over how obsessed she is with him and that she wants his attention... well she got it in this sick way. But, alsoooo, she mentioned in the letter something along the lines of how she wrote so much about their s*x, like she is a woman and so not as obsessed with it so it was all fiction (something along those line), BUT,when Lowen and Jeremy talk about their past relationships, Jeremy mentions the fact that he was very attracted to Verity and that their s*x life was great - which means then that what was in the manuscript is most likely true. She was obsessed with it 🙄 Also just thought about it how in the beginning of her letter she was explaining how she had a meeting with Amanda and Jeremy wasn’t paying attention to her at all, mentioned him disrespecting her, but wasn’t he the one that really want to read her first book? And didn’t it get bad between them after she got pregnant because his attention was on the babies not her? ALSO edit; Verity mentioned that Jeremy was choking her but then must have realised Crew wouldn’t have a father so that’s why he put duct tape on her and faked an accident..... but why did he try and choke her after Lowen showed him the manuscript? And Lowen had to tell him to stop choking her because the Police will know and she mentioned Crew not having a father. Surely he wouldn’t try to use the same method of killing her
This book blowed my mind . After reading this book I was just shocked. I don’t know who’s right who’s wrong!! If I am the CRAZY one for reading this book.I really hope you love this book. Though this book made my mind blow up but I still want Colleen hoover to write this type of story more .. If any of you just know any books like this genre please tell me the names. I really like this thriller romance trope
I love the Good Girl’s Guide To Murder trilogy! It’s young adult murder mystery but I personally liked it more than Verity. The romance is definitely less in it but still super cute!
Team Letter, she could knowing about her popularity due to her unusual writing skills, the letter could be telling the truth, she might "unintentionally" killed Harper and i guess that guilt took over her
Possible spoiler warning!! Why did nothing ever come of veritys caretaker in the plot? Like did she know she was faking it and was hired to go along with it or was verity that good at faking it at all times? I feel like CoHo could’ve used that character more into the plot..anyone else?
@@Lara-ku2kf its because at the end of the book jeremy puts verity in the facility before.. yeah. So that means they dont need to have a care taker throughout the weeks
WHEN I SAY I WAS TRAUMATIZED- this book was- a lot and it was my first colleen hoover book and i was scarred, definitely going to check out more of her work
It's so funny how my reactions were identical to yours. This book just confused and scared the shit out of me!! I was like this is too much for me with every chapter but I just couldn't stop reading it. Verity is just so creepy!! Watching your reaction, the whole time I was like same girl same. This book left me terrified and freaking traumatized. The way this book was written will not let you put it back and even after you finish reading it it will stay with you.
I just finished verity and wanted to watch this after I finished it and when I tell you I’m speechless shocked and lost for words That book is like HOLY SHIT WOW!!!
I completed reading verity 2 days ago. It just blew my mind. The verity staring at Lowen parts were really scary. I would have ran away that moment. But I am team manuscript. The letter was just her last chance to prove her innocence. But this book just messed with my head. I was creeped out at some parts. And the letter part was confusing. I lost my ability to think after reading that book.
Seeing this video actually made me excited. This book took me a while to read because I kept having to put it down during the manuscript. Such a good read though!!!
SPOILER ALERT!!!!! I think Verity did do everything that was in her manuscript because Jeremy admitted that he never felt connected to Verity like he feels with lowen. If she really was a good mother and a good lover then why wouldn't he feel connected to her unless she's hiding something Alsooo, how did crew got a cut on his chin when he said he wasn't playing with the knife? Alsoooo, Jeremy said Verity never understood Harper and favoured chasten
The whole time I was reading the book I thought the husband wrote the whole manuscript and wanted Lowen to read it and think what a great guy he was and Verity was a monster ! Thank god it wasn’t that though 😅
After I read this book like in a span of two days, I immediately recommend it to my older sister and she read it in one sitting like after she finished it, she was so disturbed that everytime we meet we would discuss all the 'what could have beens' and we like until now, it's fcking flipping us out how disturbed this book is and we loved it. 😁
Spoiler warning. I sooo think that that doesn't even matter if it was antagonistic Journaling or not, the GOST WRITER IS A HOME WRECKER and that female rivalry is just so damn infuriating for me that I dont even care if they were in the right or wrong. In my eyes, they were in the wrong and IMHO the GUY is the biggest nasty of all as he knew all that but he brought in this other woman in the story... Wow, just wow
team manuscript for me! there’s absolutely no way you could write something that horrid about murdering your own child and it not be true. and even if some of it was exaggerated, how did chastin get the scar? what would explain that other than the attempted abortion
This book was so WILD lol and my first Colleen Hoover read. After I finished it, I just sat there and had no idea what I just read it was so insane! Some parts were hard to read about (the children) but I loved it a lot too! 👍🏾👍🏾
Spoilers ahead . . . . . This book gave me major Rebecca vibes idk why. But yeah I loved it, it shocked me to the core when the letter came along, but everything was so so freaking twisted that it's really hard to believe anything. The fact that Jeremy literally murdered her at the end and didn't really react as much as someone who spent around a decade or so loving someone should've, he moved on wayyy too quickly to not look shady.
i literally paused this video 15 mins in, found a free pdf online and stayed up until 4am reading it and OMG WTF (don’t recommend reading it from 1-4am but it still wasn’t that scary but highly recommended everyone reads it)
SPOILER WARNING ⚠️ So, someone asked Colleen on her live this week if she was team manuscript or letter and she mentioned that since she wrote the book in Lowen’s POV everything we know (including her) is everything Lowen knows. So she said basically we will never know the truth 😅
This book was such a rollercoaster, it’s stuck with me forever🤣! SPOILER WARNING: I’m team letter & I want to believe that Verity isn’t capable of doing all of the bad things. But it’s tricky because we haven’t seen her being good to her kids or having a loving relationship with Jeremy etc. I do think Jeremy is a bit suspicious! I do not trust that guy at all.
Spoiler alert- I think the manuscript is the actual truth because in it Verity says in her manuscript that her mother hated her for her dark and bad characters and then Jeremy says the same thing to Lowen that Verity's parents hated her because of the evil characters that she created and wrote about. And also if Jeremy had crashed the car to kill Verity as said by her in the letter then won't he be injured as well?
I read this book a few years ago, it's so good! I'm still back and forth on the ending. I'm team manuscript, but the last part still makes me question it. I still think Verity is a psychopath, so I feel like she was covering her tracks! I also did mostly ship Lowen & Jeremy, even though it felt wrong, so I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I love when characters with pain come together and fall for each other, although he did feel suspicious at times. P.s. would love to see you do a vlog for the Shatter Me series! I adore it! It was originally a trilogy and now has 6 books, I'd recommend them all, even if you split them up. There's some novellas too, in between. The 1st novella (Warner's) is my fave of them.
I went to my friends house months ago and she literally told me the entire plot and ending of the book cause I was like "I'm not gonna read this" and I wish I could read it for the first time without knowing anything 😭😭 Also team manuscript means you think verity is guilty?
Spoiler: Jeremy thought Lowen was going crazy because he was the one who ran Verity into the tree and he genuinely thought it caused her damage etc yet she was actually faking it so Jeremy wouldn’t kill her. If he know she was actually fine he would have killed her (like at the end) that’s why she fakes it. This is why Jeremy doesn’t believe Lowen because he thinks his wife is actually “gone”. I hope this helps a bit.
That makes no sense because Verity says he tied her up with tape and that she was in the passenger side when Jeremy crashed the car. How is Jeremy left without any trace of being in a car accident? How did the police not noticed that she crashed while being in the passenger seat? You would be able to see signs of tempering because he would of had to mover her and that would leave evidence, she would also have tape marks or residue. Jeremy doesn’t believe her because this lady has been pretending to be brain dead for months, how could he have not noticed? That being said I think Jeremy and Lowen are very troubled people, but I think that’s just the trauma Lowen went through as a child and the shit they Verity has done. Would you be mentally sane after ur kids are dead and your wife who is now brain dead killed them? Also the letter is kind of too convenient.
she literally predicted so many things i didn’t even guess. i was super shocked by the time i finished the book its so unexpected and she literally predicted it. i think i feel bad for her cuz she didn’t experience the shock that i went through it was a good experience ngl i was like “WHATTTTT”
SPOILER WARNING ok hear me out i’m team manuscript bc that letter had TOO much detail to be written for jeremy, bc if he was there when he read the manuscript the first time and then choked her and then drove them into a tree, why would she have to describe it all over again if he was there and he knew what was happening yk? and some things aren’t adding up like chastins scar, and the fact that she wrote the letter after she knew lowen had the manuscript, and like if jeremy drove them into a tree, there would HAVE to be at least a scratch on him if it put verity into a coma, but he didn’t have any scars/injuries. and also why was crew so scared of his mom? like he literally but down on the knife so he wouldn’t start talking about his mom to lowen. also verity literally told crew to not talk about her if lowen asked any questions about her?? you only tell someone that if your GUILTY AND if the manuscripts are true, why would she say in the letter that she was gonna take crew with her when she was planning on leaving?? if the manuscripts are true, she clearly hates the kids and the only reason verity put up with them was bc jeremy loved them and it was either jeremy and the kids or no jeremy at all for her. this is why i feel like the letter was a cover up to help prove her innocence bc if she claimed she was gonna take crew with her, it would’ve helped show that she loves the kids and everything she wrote in the manuscript was a lie… but also, i feel like the letter and the manuscript are both true HEAR ME OUT ok so if her manager told her to write from an antagonistic POV that stuff HAS to fck with you right??? altering your memories into evil ones about trying to kill your daughter in THAT way has to mess up your brain. bc it’s like manifesting and writing it into existence in a way. so my guess is that verity was writing in that POV for a while (even before she wrote the manuscript with her main character being a villain) and it fcked her up so her mindset started to become the mindset of how she was writing in the manuscript and did end up killing harper. idk if this theory makes sense, i’m still trying to work it out bc i finished this less that 12 hours ago, but i really just don’t want to believe they killed verity for nothing…
After reading this book i was shocked😳i was like really that's the ending😱i was so angry and confused...you have no idea how many books i had read just to get Verity out of my mind
Can we talk about the cover page I noticed Colleen hover cover pages for her novels kinda describes smth that happens in the novel For example 1. It ends with us, the cover page is a broken lily 2. Ugly love, the cover page ugly love is written submerged in water 3.Verity I see a fishnet with smn's legs which I assume its harper Colleen hover really understands the meaning of art
I loved this book so much.. all the twists and turns are so amazing and make you want to keep reading chapter after chapter. That is what makes an amazing author. Colleen knows what her fandom loves and what they expect from her, and she delivers EVERY TIME.
you losing your shit 10 minutes into this video is amazing heheheh. Verity was the first Colleen Hoover book I read, and I got turned onto Colleen Hoover through your book recommendation videos, Steph! Full circle 💘
SPOILER: I actually believe Verity with her letter at the end those whole villan povs are made so well but i mean shouldn't a good autor make u feel smt?? but on the other hand wasn't that a bit too muchhhh????? i cant really explain it But steph I loved this reading vlog and the book vertity was my first book of coho and now after a few more i know for sure shes one of my fav autors I totally understand ur thoughts and it confused me too but ur reactions are soooo funnyyy i literally see myself hahaha love youuu❤️
ok it’s been like two months since this video was posted but it’s literally 4am and I just finished reading this book and I just HAD to find somewhere to see and read other peoples perspectives on it so here I am. I know that probably no one will read this by now but, SPOILERS: I am really conflicted and I don’t know if I’m team manuscript or letter yet but, I think I’m leaning more towards letter and this is the main reason why. When Lowen finally gives the manuscript to Jeremy, he runs up stairs to read it and Lowen immediately starts mentioning how it hasn’t been long at all since he began reading so his reactions we’re pretty quick but that it was understandable cause maybe he skimmed through. My thought is that he probably did not skim through it, he actually took such a short time reading cause he had already read it and he was just letting a little time go by so that Lowen would think he read it and then faked his reaction to it, which is what Lowen heard from downstairs. Also, I just never let myself trust Jeremy completely honestly. I never trusted anyone tbh, they are all insane. Lowen is an idiot homewrecker who should’ve gotten out of there waaayyy sooner, Jeremy is a cheater, a creep, and a literal murderer. And Verity is literally insane for writing that manuscript if the letter is true, like why why why would you put that on paper, why. Oh, and a lot of people have said it but Lowen totally started acting like Verity. She once called Verity’s office “my office” and when she said that I was like yup, you’re insane.
(SPOILER) I’m team manuscript. Throughout the whole book it’s emphasized that Verity is amazingly talented at writing from an antagonist point of view- and she said that it wasn’t till after she completed her first book that her editor gave her the antagonist journaling tip- but she was already obviously good at writing as an antagonist. I also just find it so fucked up that she’d even be able to write about her children and their deaths and even think about killing them. I also think that if she knew she didn’t do anything, and she’s been writing as an antagonist for years before Jeremy found the manuscript, she would be able to explain to him that it was just her doing what she does best which is writing evil things. I also think it’s so sus that her parents even called her evil, when in her letter she makes it seem like she was an amazing mother. Also, Jeremy was there for it all. He saw her not bonding with the kids, he heard her only talk about Chastin, he witnessed her hiring countless Nannie’s so she’d never have to do the “hard part of mothering” to the kids that she apparently loved so much. I also think that if what she was saying were true and she really went through all that trouble to keep her name cleared, the last thing she would do is risk telling a five year old. Also, she never explained how Crew was cut with a knife while in her room. At the end of the day Jeremy was there and witnessed her as a wife and a mother and he noticed her absence with the children and how she never really tried too hard to connect with them and be with them so reading the manuscript was too accurate to be untrue.
I agree, and I'm also team manuscript, but a great point I've seen been brought up is that Lowen said no mother would be able to write about doing such dark things to their children... BUT Colleen Hoover wrote the book, and she has kids. Colleen Hoover is a mother that wrote about another mother killing her kids.
spoiler warning !!!!! Yea, but i also believe some parts of the letter, i personally think that Jeremy actually did in fact smashed the car with verity in it after he read for the first time the manuscript. I believe a version that Jeremy and Verity are both guilty in some way…. there is truly no chance that Jeremy did nothing . Also why did Verity didn’t try to harm Lowen, after all she apparently did i feel like she wouldn’t feel any type of remorse and would want to harm the woman that has been sleeping with her husband. Perhaps that explains that the fact that maybe Verity felt very offended that Jeremy believed the manuscript when he first read it after all of these years.. and just fell out of love and it didn’t matter to her that he was sleeping with Lowen at some point. Or maybe i just got really gaslighted 😀
Am i the only one who thinks colleen should give us a series of this book? Like i can’t stop making other ends from my imagination, and theories and shit like colleen should definitely make this a series or something
Stephhh i have a book recommendation for you. You have to read Wait for it- by Jenn Mckinlay. Be careful, its not the one by mariana zapata. I orginally asked for the one by mariana zapata for my birthday but I got the other one instead and I loooved it. Lets just say happy accidents do happen. Ps: let me know if you do read it😁
y'all.. when Lowen woke up in Verity's bed because of the sleepwalking thing.. i was so fucking terrified i was SCREAMING like what the hell what the fuck are you doing there.. get the hell out of there it's so scary 💀🔪
This video makes me want to read Verity even more. Steph, you should definitely read Leyla by Collen Hoover. It's also a thriller, but there is more romance and it isn't as creepy I think you'd love it
this was my first colleen hoover book and i LOVED it, i read it in one day. watching you read it was so fun and makes me wanna reread again ahh *spoiler* i was team letter when i first read it, i feel like im the only one lol but now i think im team neither, bc i think jeremy is a true psychopath and faked both of them.
SPOILER WARNING i find it extremely hard to believe that Jeremy knew everything. if he really caused the car crash, why would he take care of her and give her a caregiver after the accident and then kill her in the end? Verity only wrote the letter because she knew someone else found out about the REAL story. no author could possibly write something so sick and twisted about their OWN children. Verity could’ve written a disclaimer on the first page to prevent others from believing it but she didn’t. she only wrote the letter because she got caught.
can i get more book recommendations similar to verity? not just thriller but mystery with a really nice plot with a pinch of romance IF YOU KNOW EHAT I MEAN!!! i’m just so drawn to this book and i can’t stop thinking bout it.
i love this book so much. it's just so crazy because you don't know who to believe. And you can't be mad bc it wasnt a cliffhanger, it's just up for you to decide which version of the truth to believe.
I know you’ve read a lot of Colleen’s books, but I’ve only read a few and I’ve realized all of them, despite being heartbreaking and full of angst, always end happily. Is it unrealistic, or me being pessimistic? 😞 do any of her books end on an unhappy note?
I was waiting for this video for so long.. its finally here.. p.s I've read the book and the ending literally gave me chills. It was soo good . CoHo never disappoints.
I feel like whole team manuscript vs team letter ordeal would be over pretty quickly if lowen just asked verity's editor if whether what she told verity about writing through a villain's perspective was true.
omg u on to something
That's literally what I was thinking about like if you didn't actually do any of that shit then you could easily prove it
I think that she wouldn’t even want to know if it was true or not bc she doesn’t want to feel guilty about what happened
It's also weird that the editor didn't come forward and tell lowen about the manuscript in case it was found while lowen was going through veritys things
I was thinking the same thing!!!!!
SPOILER WARNING
Verity’s letter was too convenient and I think she was lying about Harper’s death being an accident and about Jeremy knowing about the manuscript.
Her timing was too convenient, she knew what was coming.
could not agree more!!
absolutely agree
Cool theory! 👍👌
But then again was Jeremy so trustworthy
But he did so she lied.
i remember starting this book without knowing how crazy it was gonna be and then just could not put it down. i never knew I liked thriller until I read this 😫
read the silent patient !!!

FR like I genuinely didn’t expect it. one of the best books I’ve read in a while tho amazing
I wish there were thrillers as good as this one
@@aratrikroy984 I just read the safe place and really enjoyed it!! It’s a thriller as well, super super eerie I couldn’t put it down

Lmaoo i bet you were confused from the first sentence
Ohmygod. Same.
Sameeeeeee

literally me rn
Jeremy, Verity and Lowen were all extremely unhinged, that’s the only conclusion I have 😅
no, but fr like let's not act like verity was the only messed up one...
YES! I knew for sure that Lowen was unhinged when she bit the headboard
ALSO did anyone else notice how Lauren was starting to act like verity, especially the way she bit in the exact same spot as verity on the headboard and wanted to make the marks deeper wtf
yes like she was going crazy jealous with Jeremy like verity did
Let‘s be real - all of them had a screw loose 🤯 I mean, he killed his wife, who pretended to be vegetative and "rewrote" their children‘s death, and gets with the woman who basically took over his late wife‘s life 🙄
let’s not forget [SPOILER ALERT DONT READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE BOOK] that in the letters she said she loves her son and was planning to run away with him to protect him but how did he end up with his chin full of blood you tell me?? plus why did she hid the knife afterwards if she wasn’t guilty of anything and kept it in the floor?
@@ocesmg why did she had a knife to begin with?? I can't comprehend that
@@fernandaacosta9425 I feel like the nurse April is in with it

Aw, u sweet girl I so agree
literally same, I LITERALLY DOWNLOAD HER VIDS TO WATCH WHEN IM AT THE GYM.

This is the type of book you have to read multiple times to truly figure out what truth you believe in cause all the small details are insane, how everything is connected and twisted. Colleen’s mind idk how she does it!
Yes exactly it is just crazy! On of our favs (which we reviewed on our channel)
Yes! Did you notice how in the letter she said Jeremy duck taped her mouth and hands and feel… why would he do that if he thought she was dead??
Also did y'all notice in the Book she wrote that a person writes what they know so how did Colleen write Verity 💀
Are you team manuscript or team Letter?
@@seri4837 manuscript I don't believe the letter
IF SHE WASNT EVIL THEN WHAT WOULD THAT MEAN LMAO
Lowen and Jeremy- I didn’t really like their relationship because I hated him cheating at first, I mean at the end I figured verity deserved it but still their relationship is just eh to me.
My fav character was crew overall lmao
I agree, and when Crew was eating with Lowen and he bit the knife bc he was afraid he said too much… doesn’t sit right with me:/ I just finished the book and I’m overwhelmed 💀
@@anastasiacambur5727 EXACTLYY!! Omg I wish there was another book by CoHo that’s thriller cause she wrote this one so good
the scar was on chastin
yeah and also on the manuscript Verity wrote an argument she had with Jeremy about her lack of interest for Harper, and later on it kinda gets confirmed cause he talked to Lowen about how Verity 'never really understood her' or tried to understand her.
also, i agree, Crew is the best lol
Same Bro Same 💀✋🏻
I just finished this book today after starting it yesterday and OMG I am also so confused😂 I LOVED it but I am team manuscript bc:
1) if Jeremy had read the manuscript before, why would he trust his wife enough to let Crew be in a room alone with her, especially after the knife incident?
2) I don’t think you could write something so detailed and horrible about your own children unless it were near truth
3) Jeremy saw Verity’s stronger love for Chastin and was skeptical and distant after Harper’s death.
There’s some other messed up problems in this book I’m still confused about:
1) as steph pointed out, why would Lowen EAT and flush the letter rather than just going to Jeremy and talking to him about it? They have already been through so much and now she can never get it back and will be the only one to carry that information, wondering if it is true.
2) how the heck did it take her so long to show Jeremy the manuscript after all the creepy things she saw and learning about Harper’s death?!
3) the fact that they killed Verity together and then act like they will get a happily ever after as if they’re not both crazy for murdering someone lol
There’s probably more but my brain is still processing this book sooo…😂
I have a REALLY good theory
I'm neither team manuscript nor team letter.
Also when he realized she's faking it, he immediately silenced her coz he didn't want lowen to know that he already knew.
omg i love your theory. it makes sm sense
i think your jeremy theory is really good but why lowen tho? ik he said he liked her books but he didn’t ‘feel a connection’ w her until the day at the coffee shop so the meeting w her for the co writing thing must be pure coincidence if he fell in love w her at the coffee shop,, unless he did what corey did which fell in love with the idea of lowen bc of the main protagonist in her book but idk if it’s too far fetched
he didnt immediately silence her.
@@angelicadeltoro4419 I agree and also for Lowen to always think about. Kinda like a way to never forget
If we're team manuscript, it means that everything in the letter was an attempt at a cover up, meaning Jeremy hadn't seen the manuscript before Lowen showed it to him. However, all three of them were definitely insane in their own ways
I agree with u they all were so twisted
i could not form a coherent thought for DAYS after this book. 18:48 is me the whole book
That’s hilarious

I think the manuscript was the truth. There’s to much evidence showing it’s real. From the way Crew would get really quiet and even bit down on the knife so he would haven to answer Lowen, and when he was like “mommy says I shouldn’t talk to you” Verity wouldn’t say that if there wasn’t something to hide.
she got something to hide. she was trying to escape, remember? and she was also trying to fake her illness. why would she want her secrets to be discovered?
verity probably said that because she wanted lowen out of the house. she would creepily stare at lowen which was basically a warning for her to get the fuck out of the house
the way this book messed with me. when i finished i truly didn’t know what to think. it took me a while but i’m team manuscript and i try not to think about it too much cuz then i get confused again
we are team manuscript too (:
I was team manuscript until someone brought up some really good points. If she's as evil and narcissistic as she's portraying herself there's no reason
-why she would kill her kids and then make herself look comotose for the rest of her life
-while watching her husband hook up with another woman
-while said home wrecker goes through her stuff
What kind of life is that to want on purpose? Is that the life a supposed narcissist dreams of? Watching her family move on with someone else making her irrelevant? No she had something she needed to do before she left. Lowen stayed for Crew, rifling through shit all night because she needed to get her stuff and get the heck out. Crew clearly loves and trusts his mother above anyone else so that should say something. She also kept staring at Lowen, creeping her the fuck out, basically warning her to leave this house. Literally ANYONE would leave in that situation but Lowen is living her dumb main character moment i guess.
HERE'S WHY YOU CAN'T TRUST JEREMY:
-Though you can Verify events through Jeremy we forget he's literally not a reliable source of information, he knew everything the entire time and he faked not knowing just so Lowen would stay.
-He lied from the beginning telling Lowen that his wife read her books when Verity didn't know who the fuck she was. Smells like he purposely wanted to create an affair with his wife in the next room
-Jeremy already read that manuscript and all he needed to do was confirm everything in there because he wants Lowen to believe that Verity is actually that sick and twisted.
SHE WAS SILENCED.
this is so right like jeremy definitely had his own ulterior motive. i need colleen to explain this book ASAP
Tf I don't know what to believe anymore 😭
And Lowen is literally insane too! She purposefully got pregnant by putting the pillow under her with a man she barely knew!!! She wanted to steal Verity’s life so bad, it’s creepy. Why did she eat the parts of the letter with his name on it? She didn’t care to find out the truth! She just wanted him to start a new life with her and that’s all that mattered
Wow this made me rethink the whole book now I dont know what to believe 😭
this is so good and so true! i def think Jeremy is the true villain of the story and i honestly think he might've faked both the letter and the manuscript
SPOILERRR
I believe it was antagonistic journalling, mainly because of the fact that Jeremy already knew about the manuscript the whole time Lowen was there and pretended to get upset all over again when Lowen showed it to him so he had an excuse to finally kill her AND because of how wrong it felt that Lowen came into this woman's house and hooked up with her husband, kind of using the manuscript as justification for why she thinks it's okay.
@@kelseybholder oh that’s a good point! Damn now I’m definitely torn again.

SPOILER
How can you actually believe Verity was the bad guy?
SPOILER WARNING PLS SKIP
i think verity did it.... like also if jeremy smashed the car with verity in it, wouldnt he have injuries as well?? she was definitely lying in her last note. and jeremy noticed that she favored chasten so that leads me to believe her manuscript was true. theres no way you can write about such horrid things about your own children without actually feeling them
AGREED
Omgg yah
Dude exactly but I don't understand why did Verity not hurt the author. I mean for someone who has gone to the extent of killing her own child it doesn't make sense that she didn't do anything when she literally saw her husband being intimate w the author
Jeremy was in on it somehow, what father sees knife marks on his son and doesn’t question where the knife is 🤦🏽♀️
Yea but verity was pretty confident in her letter that jeremy knew about the manuscript that means jeremy was sus too bc he acted all shocked infront of lowen
This was my second Colleen Hoover book, and I can’t tell you how many times I swore. Like the letter at the end… she COULD be telling the truth…BUT she COULD just be lying. Who knows….
Although I think the manuscript is true….
She was obsessed with it 🙄
Also just thought about it how in the beginning of her letter she was explaining how she had a meeting with Amanda and Jeremy wasn’t paying attention to her at all, mentioned him disrespecting her, but wasn’t he the one that really want to read her first book? And didn’t it get bad between them after she got pregnant because his attention was on the babies not her?
ALSO edit; Verity mentioned that Jeremy was choking her but then must have realised Crew wouldn’t have a father so that’s why he put duct tape on her and faked an accident..... but why did he try and choke her after Lowen showed him the manuscript? And Lowen had to tell him to stop choking her because the Police will know and she mentioned Crew not having a father. Surely he wouldn’t try to use the same method of killing her
this one is crazy. it was realllly hard for me to get through the abuse but i’m team manuscript
@@orsibernath going to put this in my list
the silent patient is somewhat similar to this one! although the romance isn't as prevalent either
team manuscript all the way! there is no way a mother would write such things about her children just for a book lmao.
Team Letter, she could knowing about her popularity due to her unusual writing skills, the letter could be telling the truth, she might "unintentionally" killed Harper and i guess that guilt took over her
I literally just finished reading Verity! I ran to watch this video to see if you felt the same as me while reading it 😂

Possible spoiler warning!!
Why did nothing ever come of veritys caretaker in the plot? Like did she know she was faking it and was hired to go along with it or was verity that good at faking it at all times? I feel like CoHo could’ve used that character more into the plot..anyone else?
I totally agree, I hate how like at some point in the book she just disappears and we don’t hear from her again

The nostalgia I felt while watching Steph’s reactions was unreal. My reactions exactly😂
Seeing this video actually made me excited. This book took me a while to read because I kept having to put it down during the manuscript. Such a good read though!!!
I LITERALLY BROUGHT VERITY AND HERE SHE IS MAKING A VIDEO ON IT ! What a coincidence!
fr same i just read it!
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!
I think Verity did do everything that was in her manuscript because Jeremy admitted that he never felt connected to Verity like he feels with lowen. If she really was a good mother and a good lover then why wouldn't he feel connected to her unless she's hiding something
Alsooo, how did crew got a cut on his chin when he said he wasn't playing with the knife?
Alsoooo, Jeremy said Verity never understood Harper and favoured chasten
This book got me looking at my stairs for weeks cause I was scared someone was watching me
The whole time I was reading the book I thought the husband wrote the whole manuscript and wanted Lowen to read it and think what a great guy he was and Verity was a monster ! Thank god it wasn’t that though 😅
I was thinking that too😳
I have never read a Colleen Hoover book without feeling at least one overwhelming emotion.
Been in such a big reading slump, needed this thank you Steph !!!
dude some of the parts of the book seriously gave me the chills and i couldn’t sleep
OMG THAT BOOK WAS SO GOOD YET SOOOO TERRIFYING!!!! WORTH IT THOUGH. Also ur hilarious bTw. I was laughing the entire time lol
Wow, just wow
i had the exact same reactions, that book is messed up in the best way, colleen hoover serves everytime.
She should really write more horror
team manuscript for me! there’s absolutely no way you could write something that horrid about murdering your own child and it not be true. and even if some of it was exaggerated, how did chastin get the scar? what would explain that other than the attempted abortion
This book was so WILD lol and my first Colleen Hoover read. After I finished it, I just sat there and had no idea what I just read it was so insane! Some parts were hard to read about (the children) but I loved it a lot too! 👍🏾👍🏾

Love this! Read Verity two weeks ago and I agree with everything you said. Team manuscript!
It has been at least a month since i read this and I'm still mulling it over in my head!!
i literally paused this video 15 mins in, found a free pdf online and stayed up until 4am reading it and OMG WTF (don’t recommend reading it from 1-4am but it still wasn’t that scary but highly recommended everyone reads it)
This book creeped me out so much I had to stop reading it in bed and night. I was on edge and soooo socked by it. I love it.
I need to express that whenever I read from verity’s pov in the manuscript I IMAGINED Amy from Gone Girl, Verity EMBODIES Amy
SPOILER WARNING ⚠️
So, someone asked Colleen on her live this week if she was team manuscript or letter and she mentioned that since she wrote the book in Lowen’s POV everything we know (including her) is everything Lowen knows. So she said basically we will never know the truth 😅
This book was such a rollercoaster, it’s stuck with me forever🤣!
SPOILER WARNING:
I’m team letter & I want to believe that Verity isn’t capable of doing all of the bad things. But it’s tricky because we haven’t seen her being good to her kids or having a loving relationship with Jeremy etc.
I do think Jeremy is a bit suspicious! I do not trust that guy at all.
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH and live for these vids!! i find it very amusing how they are 'spolier free' but you spill the tea throughout the vid LOVE IT
Spoiler alert-
I think the manuscript is the actual truth because in it Verity says in her manuscript that her mother hated her for her dark and bad characters and then Jeremy says the same thing to Lowen that Verity's parents hated her because of the evil characters that she created and wrote about.
I went to my friends house months ago and she literally told me the entire plot and ending of the book cause I was like "I'm not gonna read this" and I wish I could read it for the first time without knowing anything 😭😭
Also team manuscript means you think verity is guilty?
Yess
I lowkey wanna watch the spoiler section before reading. Idk if I’ll even like this book. But I don’t wanna ruin it.
@@macymiller8743 lol nooo, its short and fast paced, you wont lose anything by reading it first!!!
I finished this book 6 months ago and still think about it everyday
SPOILER WARNING
ok hear me out i’m team manuscript bc that letter had TOO much detail to be written for jeremy, bc if he was there when he read the manuscript the first time and then choked her and then drove them into a tree, why would she have to describe it all over again if he was there and he knew what was happening yk? and some things aren’t adding up like chastins scar, and the fact that she wrote the letter after she knew lowen had the manuscript, and like if jeremy drove them into a tree, there would HAVE to be at least a scratch on him if it put verity into a coma, but he didn’t have any scars/injuries. and also why was crew so scared of his mom? like he literally but down on the knife so he wouldn’t start talking about his mom to lowen. also verity literally told crew to not talk about her if lowen asked any questions about her?? you only tell someone that if your GUILTY
AND if the manuscripts are true, why would she say in the letter that she was gonna take crew with her when she was planning on leaving?? if the manuscripts are true, she clearly hates the kids and the only reason verity put up with them was bc jeremy loved them and it was either jeremy and the kids or no jeremy at all for her. this is why i feel like the letter was a cover up to help prove her innocence bc if she claimed she was gonna take crew with her, it would’ve helped show that she loves the kids and everything she wrote in the manuscript was a lie…
but also, i feel like the letter and the manuscript are both true HEAR ME OUT ok so if her manager told her to write from an antagonistic POV that stuff HAS to fck with you right??? altering your memories into evil ones about trying to kill your daughter in THAT way has to mess up your brain. bc it’s like manifesting and writing it into existence in a way. so my guess is that verity was writing in that POV for a while (even before she wrote the manuscript with her main character being a villain) and it fcked her up so her mindset started to become the mindset of how she was writing in the manuscript and did end up killing harper. idk if this theory makes sense, i’m still trying to work it out bc i finished this less that 12 hours ago, but i really just don’t want to believe they killed verity for nothing…
how was this uploaded not even a minute ago and theres already 23 comments?? We all seem to love Stephs content haha
After reading this book i was shocked😳i was like really that's the ending😱i was so angry and confused...you have no idea how many books i had read just to get Verity out of my mind

I noticed Colleen hover cover pages for her novels kinda describes smth that happens in the novel
For example
1. It ends with us, the cover page is a broken lily
2. Ugly love, the cover page ugly love is written submerged in water
3.Verity

ok it’s been like two months since this video was posted but it’s literally 4am and I just finished reading this book and I just HAD to find somewhere to see and read other peoples perspectives on it so here I am. I know that probably no one will read this by now but, SPOILERS:
I am really conflicted and I don’t know if I’m team manuscript or letter yet but, I think I’m leaning more towards letter and this is the main reason why.
Its scary how fast i just clicked the video😭💕

Finished reading it at 2:45 last night with lights off because my roommates were sleeping 💤
Felt like verity was standing right next to me ☺️☺️☺️
SPOILER WARNING
i find it extremely hard to believe that Jeremy knew everything. if he really caused the car crash, why would he take care of her and give her a caregiver after the accident and then kill her in the end? Verity only wrote the letter because she knew someone else found out about the REAL story. no author could possibly write something so sick and twisted about their OWN children. Verity could’ve written a disclaimer on the first page to prevent others from believing it but she didn’t. she only wrote the letter because she got caught.
can i get more book recommendations similar to verity? not just thriller but mystery with a really nice plot with a pinch of romance IF YOU KNOW EHAT I MEAN!!! i’m just so drawn to this book and i can’t stop thinking bout it.
