For the last story. I have an enormous family. Not one cousin sibling even second cousin third fourth etc. has my name. With my daughter we gave her my mother-in-law’s middle name and maybe doing that for the sister-in-law’s daughter would be best and come up with an original first name.
The addition to Story 2 is that the brother was literally sabotaging THE ENTIRE TIME. He threw away the invite, deleted the text messages, and didn't even have a football game, he just wanted to go TO DISNEY
Story 6, My dad walked my cousin down the isle and her respected for my father rather then her own went so far , she named her son after my father, and I think it’s a BEAUTIFUL THING 💕 because he is a wonderful amazing man!
It would not have mattered how OP went about stating what they stated, it would have had the same exact outcome because people like THAT FEEL they are way over entitled!!
That MIL that feels excluded is a deal breaker. OP should not marry into that family. Every Christmas, Birthday, Trip, Anniversary will be ruined by her MIL. There will be no celebrations. OP's life will be a Greek tragedy. That the future groom has neither the emotional intelligence or the spine makes this marriage a just NO. Flee OP, flee, save yourself, it's too late for the groom.
Weddings are a gathering of families for celebration. Many brides who don't have a father will be walked down the isle by a grandfather, cousin, uncle, or even mother. It's about who the bride chooses to give that honor too. Period.
The last story, I feel like it would be to the detriment of SIL's child if they stick to that name. Everyone would know that she was named 2nd, and she would live forever in their cousin's shadow. It's borderline abusive

Why not do it this way: she has the name doe jane…. Sister in law can use jane doe. Not the same
