I found a bug in Ventura that should be reported to Apple as a bug fix. When you have an icon pasted onto a folder, copying or moving the folder to an external disk (USB, for example), the folder itself is copied over, but the icon/thumbnail is 'deleted' (missing) on the destination disk. This issue did not happen on Catalina and earlier. The only workaround I could find is make a ZIP archive of the customized folder then copy or move to the destination disk. Even on the destination disk, pasting the custom icon, picture, whatever does nothing ('rejects'). You do this by selecting the folder, Get Info, and click the folder icon with the left mouse button, and paste the clipboard data of the picture you want, which creates and icon file (it is hidden but will appear if you view the disk on another computer, running Windows). The way I do it is open a picture in Preview, Photoshop, etc. Select the entire image area, copy (to the clipboard), and then paste to show the image on the folder instead of the generic folder when you create a new folder. Another bug is when you plug in an a CD, DVD, or Blu-ray drive, the compact disc icon displays an empty area where only the disk name can be selected.
Wow! This was a fantastic overview of ‘Max OS Ventura’ mate! I’m actually pretty stoked about the design changes in the GUI bringing it in-line with iPad OS and iOS. It’s not just the homogenous design language, but I feel the fluidity and tight integration of all my apple devices is getting more polished and efficient by the year. A decade ago, the iPhone felt wholly siloed away from the iPad, and even more so Max OSX back in the day unless I was physically syncing it up via iTunes and a lightening cable (30-pin prior to that). Now however, everything from my photos, replying to messages via Siri in my ear, or typing on my Mac/Watch (or unlocking the mac with my Apple Watch when I ‘wake it’), or even instant syncing up of my voice memos and notes all works so.damn.well. Very very pleased and optimistic about the future Apple is pushing here (other than that poor decision that made the Apple TV app objectively worse this update 😞).

Not too many nonbiased feature reviews. I love when someone shows off the new features in a way that gets the user excited about the product. Usually there are too many critical negative spotlights in review videos... I love positive reviews that get me into anticipation of the upgrade
Dear Aaron, thank you so much for your video, it is extremely informative straight to the point and I really like how you include extra little things that have been added that would not necessarily be obvious to someone like myself who is a standard end user who also has a disability. I didn't understand the addition of continuity camera and the way that you have described it in a simple and basic set of terms that I understand has made it very simple for me to know what I need to buy extra to add to my iPhone 13 Pro Max to take full advantage of this part of the new macOS Ventura operating system. Thank you again so much I have now subscribed as this is the first time that I have been directed towards your site and to be honest I have found it over and above what I was expecting. I was hoping for more OS updates and not just app updates. The stage feature is nice, but unnecessary if you are using a window manager. It's a move in the right direction, however Continuity Camera left me feeling meh... So much anticipation and it came with no control settings. Using CC for anything more than a simple Zoom type call was a no go. I had hoped to take this feature into streaming. Sadly, this isn't what it is going to be capable of (yet). In comparison, Camo Studio Pro controls all camera settings for iPhone as a webcam. For streaming content this is key, paid app or not, if it's not capable we won't use it. PLUS - another problem is CC only lets you use one camera at a time. No multiple continuity cam setups allowed. Hopefully, Apple brings development in these areas for future releases.

I’m really excited for stage manager, it should make organising all my windows open so much better - seems to be Apple’s answer to the similar Windows 11 feature
Same. Was very excited about this and so far i'm really liking it. I have an ultrawide monitor connected to my M1 Mini so there's plenty of space available for those stage manager 'icons' on the left. For work I have 2 virtual desktops open next to each other and my sound settings and music were always kind of half hidden at the side. Now I can easily group my apps and show them properly when I want to.
I'm missing something. What exactly is different about "stage manager" as compared to good old minimising of the app? Or creating actual other desktops and using mission control to switch between them?
