Remember when dyed hair meant you were into metal rock bands and skateboarding, and not a mental illness?
Before this I was going to die my hair blue. Now I rather me bold then dye my hair.
Same thing with tattoos and piercings. Woke ruins everything, I actually have tattoos and live on the west coast, so people often assume I’m a liberal☹️

Those that don’t own homes are mad because boomers bought their homes for 30k and now they’re priced at 1/2 to 3/4 million.
Again, the people I talk to, don’t want to be renters, don’t want public transportation, and they want to buy the new phones and go to concerts. They want to be homeowners and you must be “rich” to buy a home. They want to go on vacations or travel overseas when they have time off. They want to buy the car they want. Eat out, go out with friends, have dinner parties and gatherings at their home etc etc.
They don’t just want to work and get by. If they work they want to make all the money they can doing it or it’s a waste to work to just scrape by.

Gen Z ranges from 27 down through middle school. I think there is a great deal of difference between the oldest & the youngest, and not just 'cuz a 27 year old is vastly different than a 14 year old. They were at different developmental stages when covid happened or when the Trans-gender thing popped out of nowhere. So, they have different world-views about such things.
A 24 year old woman may not think about a male on a high school girl's sports team as much as a 15 year old girl. The high school girls are forced to think about it. To the 24 year old, it's just a philosophical discussion. Same with allowing boys in their bathrooms.
I think there are vast differences in economic opinions between the oldest & the youngest. There are way more teens working now than when the oldest Gen Z were in school. They worked about the same low-rate as Millennials.

True. As a female I can be an 8 or just a regular looking 6. Being attractive takes work, planning, care. It’s about more than just maintaining a healthy weight. One must also take care of themselves daily; their skin, hair, teeth, dress in a way that flatters their body, learn to do their makeup well and work on their character, their manners and to speak in a way that is proper and polite.
The problem is people think there’s only 2 political ideas and infinite gender and not the other way. There’s 2 genders and a infinite amount of political standpoints

I had to learn to pander to professors that admired and tried preaching Communism in my papers (and that made the classes like 200 economics silly), they'll get past these clowns who think they're changing things because they refuse to see anything objectively.

My son went through the same bs. Be there for your son as much as possible encourage him and his friends getting together and doing things together to support each other aa often as they can. Pay close attention to his classes and his teachers. Go to bat for him when necessary. If you can and your son does not have one and likes pets get him one dog, cat, rat etc. pets are good company and really help to deal with the insanity.
Being non binary is not about becoming who you think you are its about being anything other than the person you know you are and dont like.
One of my nieces had a gender and name for each classroom period of the school day. She couldn't even remember her own bullshit.

Most of the people I encounter have at least passively accepted the assumptions of wokeness and don't question it at all. They may not be performative, but the indoctrination has certainly shaped their worldview.

I saw it around the mid-2010s as I was nearing graduation with the oldest Gen Z and youngest Millennials. I do think the kinda tweener Millennial/Gen Z era of kids born from the 90s to the early 2000s that we’re both in was among the worst at its peak but also seem to have dramatically swung back in recent years.

And the younger Gen Z who are in high school/junior high and even older Gen Alpha who have reached the age of having defined opinions already seem to be rejecting it without ever protesting for these things and casting bad votes, so there is some hope! I think the Gen Z and Millennials from the tweener group are mostly graduated and in the workforce now, and reality comes at you fast. I was a libertarian leaning conservative in college, so fortunately I was never part of the ideological capture. Sounds like you’re somewhere in the same camp.

I've always been pretty immune to ideological capture and collectivist thinking in general myself I'd say! the crazy leftist shit gave me the exact same "icks" that the Christian conservatives wanting to ban Harry Potter back in the day gave me. so yeah I guess I do have a pretty strong libertarian "don't force your shit on me" mindset. although I'd say I'm close to Joe Rogan politically... whatever that means these days lol.
Back in the 80s and 90s, anybody and and everybody would have considered me to be liberal or to the Left, yet today people call me a right winger even though I really haven't changed much at all. And since I'm gay I'm expected to be far-left and Woke, but since I'm not they think I'm an especially evil far right-winger. Being an older gen-z that is a woman, I use to have the left ideologies because that is what was pushed upon my generation. After becoming an adult I became more and more right leaning because I have started to see things in my own perspective that is different from my counterparts. The biggest one that made me start resenting the left is the unnecessary hatred of men and how narcissistic that side has become with that topic.

I'm a goth and a 80s millennial, when I go to the club...NGL they are all ugly. Maybe one or two have good looks but ...wow...alot have a face only a mother could love. I haven't made any close friends in almost a decade cause everyone is woke and God forbid me, a black woman, speaks against wokeness.

Heyyyy fellow Mass-hole here. I'm on the older side of the millenial spectrum and in the 2000's I remember people my age being all in on stuff like Chappelle Show, Adult Swim etc. I think alot of the older millenials aren't into this nonsense and aren't all that thin skinned (some definitely are) but imo it's the millenials born roughly starting 1990ish that have the most dyed in the wool specimens.

I would say this is true. My youngest cousin has downtalked "woke" and even feminism as for stupid ugly people. This was starting at the age of 14. He is 20 now and that stance has not changed.

When I was single, an older friend asked if my dad was able to fix things. Yes. She said her dad was, but she married someone who could not. After all these years of marriage, she struggled with respecting having to hire everything to be fixed.
This got me thinking about what I need to respect a husband. There are many things I could respect in my neighbor's husband, but I could not in my own. It all boiled down to how masculinity was modeled in my dad.
Because my dad was a project guy, I needed a guy who preferred to spend his off time doing projects. Fixing things. It was a matter of respect. Again, I can respect my friend's husband who provides for his family differently than my dad.

Well, I think "out of line" is not the case here as this is saying exactly what needs to be said, when it needs to be said.
The only real issue I have with this is that like everything "Generation X" has been telling you basically this for years, but do the the whole "trust no on over 25" and ignorance of anything pre-social media, they are just now realizing what people have been telling them for decades. That said, it does put them ahead of the Millennials who are now hitting middle aged and they still haven't figured this out and along with the boomers are a big part of the central problem being a thing.

I used to hang out with my gay friends at parties, so I was around LGBT crowd, never had a problem with them at all, actually the opposite, adored them lol... anyways, I remember the first time we heard someone want to be called "they" and dying their hair colors, and of course they were a super overweight, leftist, polyamorous white woman who was a total bitch and not fun at parties at all lol... this was like 2012. ironically my LGBT buddies were laughing our drunk asses off at them thinking they were trolling hahaha. never did we know at the time that shit would really launch off...
also, I was super into atheist content in my teens, and there was a phenomenon that happened with that group also around 2010 or a bit earlier, this movement called "Atheism +" was born, where this was essentially the birth of that mainstream intersectionist sort of thinking, and obsession over identity politics, particularly rampant feminism.

I guess it's tempting because the ideology gives you psychological benefits: you can claim some sort of identity, have a group that will welcome you (if you stay in line) and give your life meaning with your activism, even if it's just tweeting 'progressive' talking points and arguing with normies.

My son is 14 and he says the kids are constantly arguing with teachers (millennials) about gender as they are trying to teach there are all these genders to middle schoolers in classes that have nothing to do with sex.

Biggest change I have seen is respect for ones political beliefs has completely disappeared and it's mostly on the Democrats side.
Someone shared their political beliefs and we (both parties) used to be like, "Well that's your opinion man" now it's a personal affront to them(Dems).
Cannot share opinions online because of the hate or sometimes in friend groups or even families now.

I'm Gen Z and I'm honestly surprised by when I hear friends bring up disdain for woke stuff. Granted we're early Gen Z (mid 20s) but I was surprised one of them brought up Biden giving money to illegals while he can't afford things.
Well, young people always tend to reject the fads and fashions of their immediate older generation…the more extreme the trend, the more extreme the reaction against it. Gen z despise millennials, and Gen alpha ( going by my kids)… they’re pretty feral right now.

There’s a woke couple in my town. The “husband” got banned from almost every store in town for causing a scenes after getting offended by staff or other customers.
It's for vindictive and spiteful people looking to create ways to coerce and manipulate others. It's just the reality that a lot of vindictive people in society happen to be ones that are lacking in most social categories. I've seen plenty of very attractive woke that were compensating for another grievance.
In Grade 6, they asked the kids in my daughter's class what their pronouns were and gist of the collective answer from the kids to the teacher was GTFO.

I think the 90s Millennials are actually moving more in the direction with Gen Z now. The older Millennials and younger Gen X seem to be more entrenched in the ideological capture at this point.
I do think the young Millennials and older Gen Z got really bad, but I think they’ve swung back harder afterward. It was that borderline group where the oldest Gen Z’s/youngest Millennials were starting college and I was a senior or so where things got really ridiculous, but the same group seems to have rejected a lot of that stuff in a big way since then.
It’s not coolness factor, it’s rebellion factor. How do kids rebel when the adults are promoting clown world woke values? By moving to the right and conservatism.
There have always been a lot of poor people, poor Gen X, poor Boomers, poor Silent gen, poor Greatest gen, etc. etc. Before everyone had the internet in their pocket, and a way to post videos to it, they simply weren't heard much. Now, they can make themselves heard in masse.
Likewise, there are a lot of people earning 100k, 200k, 300k, and still complaining that they are paycheck-to-paycheck, from inside their luxury car or McMansion.
Point being, whether they are struggling because they legit don't earn enough, or struggling because they legit can't stop entitling enough, more people can share their struggles for each other to see.

I think younger Millennials are becoming more like Gen Z in this regard. Never thought I’d be trying to associate more with Gen Z, but I feel I relate more to the older part of that generation. Old Millennials and young Gen X are the worst in regard to wokeness. Like the 35-45 age range.

40-45 is like Warp Tour, Primus spring break, cool sht era. I could see the women being more horrible in the "suburban college educated" demographic but the "millennials" overall had bigger sticks up theirs about everything and were way less cool.

For awhile Millennials became pretty lame, but I think the 35-45 demographic, which includes older Millennials, remains a bigger problem. You can point to the things people were into, but younger people raised on offensive TV became offended by everything for awhile, so that doesn’t really mean much.

As a gen Z, I agree with all of this. But don't forget the hate for Boomers as well. There is a serious hatred for the oldest generation as well (as we see it, they own everything and share little to nothing downstream to the other generations)
They also ruined it for the younger generations so yeah I do hate most of them.
Note the phrase "this is the first generation to not out earn their parents" was first used during the Clinton Presidency. I was in my 20s (1990s), & we were told to get used to not being as well off as our parents. Then, they used it again during the Obama Presidency. Now again, during Biden. One must lack hope to look for toward the government as a savior. It's the only way socialism/Marxism can come to America.
Many Boomers, like my own parents, were working class and never had much, but they made it stretch and did much with the little they had. I don't remember them eating fast food or buying coffee in a shop, for example. We all cooked and ate at home.
@@kellysouter4381 Back in the day middle class could be enough to save for a home, you can't anymore without a lifetime of debt. Also, saving money on not spending on the small things can help, yes, but it does not usually mean you can buy a home a year early.
