Fitness girl did a great job. Here is an example of how even a fitness boxer can have an edge due to their obvious cardio. Cardio is cardio is cardio. If you have the stamina to fight at a high level for the full time of the fight, then it can easily be an edge.

I did fitness kickboxing in the early 1990s as a bunch of guys doing as part of a prank loss. We lost a bet in something and our punishment was to go to a fitness kickboxing class. At the time I was already had done 7 years of karate (Okinawan) and boxing. There were alot of fit hotties in the class. I was the only one in the group that actually continued with it (until the cardio kickboxing program ended) which was 7 months later. My cardio vascular increased and I was asked if I had been doing alot of running since my APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test) score increased. I said yes. In reality I only ran on my own for 15 minutes once a week and had done cardio kickboxing twice a week when not doing Kali and JKD. When the cardio kickboxing ended I moved on to step aerobics once a week with a hottie instructor and lots of cuties, cougars and MILFs.

So I help out at a mall karate school, which imo qualifies as fitness fighting. It's a good way for families to have fun together, and kind of explore martial arts. Definitely doesn't creat consistently good fighters. I get in trouble because I want to spar hard and even at my 30-50%, they ask me to ease up. Ultimately, if people enjoy it and they understand that this is watered down self defense, and mainly for funsies, it's not too big a deal. Plus every once in a blue moon, you get a good fighter out of it.
I get some good training out of it, but that's because I'm used to something more intense. So I know how to leverage the training they do to maximize my own. You just show up expecting to become a good fighter, it's probably not gonna happen. You're gonna have to some extra leg work to get there.

Fitness boxing is all about timing and rhythm. It's not made for fighting but it gives you those two important aspects of fighting.
Edit: not to mention the "fitness" aspect of fitness boxing helps with fighting too lol.

Worked as boxing coach, in one gym there was man with more than two decades of experience. Despite that, man almost never pull the punches, only three people could spar with him. That man almost knocked me out three times.
After some time, he left the gym and new guy came by. He told me, that his friend (previous coach whom place i took) got knocked out cold by that experience dude so bad, that doctors had to driill his skull for saving his life. I am lucky😅

fitness boxing is just shadow boxing under a different name. And it keeps you in good shape actually, if you ever winded from hitting the big for just a few minutes, imagine doing it for 1 hour a day for years, you'll be in good shape

In defence of it, a part of fitness boxing that people overlook is avoiding head blows and potential knock outs, which are fundamental risks in the sport that determine the winner. Boxing is a dangerous sport. You don't need to become a fighter to reap the benefits. Just don't conflate the two things. Does anybody really do that though?

About the kick when the other girl is down... she didnt commit to the kick, she just planned that kick and didnt brake it untill the other girl was already down...
The kick in the groin could be just a leg kick gone wrong... its arbitrary...
The kickboxer girls was just overwhelmed by the charisma and enthusiasm of the fitness girl. She just wasnt expecting that agresivity... surely if they sparred a bit more rounds she'd manage to crack her tecnique (or lack of technique)
Unless a fighter is a pro, is hard to judge... we, the amateurs, arent as quick as the ones who train several hours day, 6 day at week...

Given a basic level of skill, I think attitude can really even things up. I mean, against a clever fighter it can backfire, but if you're up against someone with better skills when your own skills are adequate, you're best off just taking the attack to them and not giving them time or room to think and use their superior moves. That fitness boxer girl, she just crowded the kickboxer and kept on pounding, didn't give her a chance to get cute.

This is kinda in the same theory about how it is often hard for a trained fighter to fight an unskilled fighter.
In short, the unskilled fighter is whack and has broken rhythm, no cadence, wild strikes, undisciplined, relentless and generally spazzy. It's outside the context of a smooth spar with someone with similar skills.
