Hopefully Aspyr will take good care of AoD, polish it as best as they can, and provide some good additional marketing on it to reassure old and new players its issues will be fixed (well, at least the most important ones, #1 indeed the controls). Personally, I'm not worried though - I have faith in these devs🙏

AOD modders tried implementing controls similar to that of the Legend trilogy. They work surprisingly well, as if the game was built with them in mind. I'm not a fan of the modern controls in TR 1-3 (and most likely also 4-5), but I'd likely use them in 6.

I'll admit that TR4 and TR5 aren't huge faves of mine, but just the thought of having all the original games in one place for current consoles/PC is enough to get me excited. I'm hoping they truly do fix everything that was wrong with AOD, mostly in regards to how glitchy/unfinished it felt. I'm excited for this honestly. It was something I've seen mentioned in regards to 4 and 5 that fans wanted done and I was in agreement that it'd be so cool to have. Then I got the notification of the trailer and was so excited, doubly so after seeing Angel of Darkness was included as well. Like you said, now all of the Classic Core Design era games have been remastered and preserved for a new generation to play and for long time fans to re-experience. I'm looking forward to this so much and can't wait. Hopefully some of the bugs of Cronicles and AoD can be patched here but time will tell I suppose
Exactly, this is just a wonderful feeling all around. I'm 100% sure the worst bugs and awkwardness will be fixed/evened out by the time it releases. I'm curious about AOD though, as I would assume that game needs more work than just a remastering.
@AxMania Yeah, Angel of Darkness does have it's fair share of awkwardness and needs a bit more work besides just updated graphics. Time will tell but hopefully some of the worst bugs will be patched and the controls will feel more fluid and less awkward
Angel of Darkness has so many interesting ideas that almost all fall apart because of bad implementation of controls, the weird roleplay additions, which seem like an afterthought, and a big hub area with two people and almost nothing to do. Still, there is something in there, something that only a classic Tomb Raider game can make you feel. So, if they fix the controls and provide the option to have a more complete game by restoring content, I am actually really looking forward to this release! Let's party together on Lara's birthday next year!
Yeah, I agree. There are a bunch of things in that game that needs some tidying, and I'm kind of afraid a remaster won't be enough, but I have great faith in Aspyr to work their magic. Yeah, I can't wait to celebrate - again! 😃

I’m definitely looking forward to properly playing chronicles and the last revelation, but AOD is definitely the one I’m most curious/worried about. I’m sure the game will be patched and optimized as well as the controls being overhauled but it’s the rest of the game I’m interested to see what they do with. Like for example Kurtis Trent’s far see ability was originally a game mechanic instead of a cutscene, so I wonder if they will restore that. Also speaking of cut content I also wonder what else they’ll be enable to bring back… Probably not much but it would be nice to finally see AOD in a more finished state.

I did not think they would do this considering the overall reception to these games and the developments and whatnot. So exited for this pack ! and instantly thought of you Axmania when the trailer dropped lol
5 is ok and 6 is not my cup of tea but 4 alone sells me on this collection. I just hope Aspyr is able to make a brand-new old-styled Tomb Raider game with classic and modern controls after this.
@@AxMania Exactly, that's what most fans want as well. Keeping it with older engines will allow them to do a game double as expansive as The Last Revelation. If Shovel Knight was a success for bringing back the SNES aesthetic and nostalgia I don't see how new PS1-styled games from an established franchise would fail.

this is amazing. The last revelation was my first ever tomb raider game I ever played and I am sooooo excited to see this in a new look. Also veryyyy curious to see chronicels and aod. The remaster for 1-3 got me to finally play through the first games and I am so glad I did. Ahhh so happy about all of this yay for the tr community and lara .
What’s so annoying is that I’m super tempted to play through these 3 games now. It’s going to be a hard 4 months staying away from these gems until these remasters are released!
24 years ago my mother beat me with a belt when she found out i stay home from school to play tr4 valley of the kings. i remember feelin d belt on my back as soon as i got the jeep. good memories cant wait to replay as an adult.

I'm super excited for these games! After finishing the 1, 2 and 3 Remasters, I dove into these 3 titles and I loved them (AoD being the one I never got to play). Makes me curious to see what QoL improvements Aspyr will be doing to AoD after all of these years.
Man, I'm so psyched!! I had only completed the first tomb raider when they were originally released. But I completed all three since the remaster. So, I can't wait to get into these three and finally complete them as well.

Looking forward to these. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the first three I was nostalgic but they were always my older brothers games so I didn’t think I’d beat all three. TR2 is one of my favorite games of all time now. Revelations is the last one I remember playing as a kid and I feel like I’m ready now lol

Isn't it fantastic that we can play all these amazing games on bigger machines. They have done an amazing job and it's an absolute pleasure to play these beautiful and clever games.
It's insane, because TR4 and TR5 are respectively my top favorite and 2nd favorite Tomb Raider games ever. AoD is incredible, too and I cannot wait to re-visit it. This, to me, is THE release. I am so excited. TR4 remastered, omg omgomgomg.
Really excited about this one. The remasters were very fun for me (especially since I got to play the expansions which I had never tried before, and I went for all the secrets for the first time). On the other hand, I wonder how the new ones will be. AoD was a horrible experience for me when I first tried it a couple of years ago (I dropped it out of disappointment) and TR4 and TR5 don't have expansions, so I won't have that to look forward to. Still, I can do all secrets runs for them all, and hope they'll surprise us with some additional content, and maybe some fixes for AoD.

This makes me really happy, since I lost interest in the Tomb Raider games after TR IV as a kid/teenager. So this is a perfect opportunity to catch up. Although I have to admit: I mostly played through the remastered versions with the older graphics, while only switching to the new look when I arrived in a new section for example. It just felt right, but this might only be me and my nostalgic love for the old games. With this in mind, the availability on Switch and hassle-free installation is actually what I am looking forward to the most.
I’m incredibly thankful that these devs gave another chance for Angel of Darkness! Now more people can experience this game with better controls and bugs fixes , and hopefully more people can appreciate it more and see how underneath all the bugs and crap controls there’s a hidden gem !
This announcement caught me so off guard. Just the other day I saw a post from Raidercast about spreading the word of us wanting 4-6 remastered as well and then all of the sudden this pops up! Unbelievable.

Happy we have all the Core design classics remastered. I've started the series with TR4 on ps1 back in 1999 as a kid, later played AOD on ps2. I now finished the first one (remastered on pc) and going through the rest. Can't wait to revisit Angkor Wat in HD!

TR4 and 5 were my first full TR games, so these two have a special place in my heart. And TR6 was the one Steam refund I regretted after realizing mods existed, lol. So excited to see all 3 getting remastered (and hopefully fixed). Been modding TR1-3R to feel more like TR4+ to maximize my nostalgia. I'm still missing a few weapons (and I suck at 3D modeling), and I'm having some trouble with porting the audio from the original PC ports. Hopefully, this remaster would make things easier, heh.
@@AxMania I was actually hoping someone would recreate TR1-3 on TRLE, with the updated graphics, sounds and all. I suppose modding TR1-3R is the closest we'd get.
I was expecting TR4 and TR5 remasters to happen at some point... but I wasn’t expecting AOD in a slightest! Similarly to you I thought it was more of a remake material, so it was quite a surprise! I'm very excited! Considering that the first remasters had some of the bugs of the originals, I certainly hope that's not going to be the case for AOD. I'm very much looking forward to playing it without frustration. I wonder how they will adapt it, as all in all it’s quite a different game from its predecessors.
I am very curious about that too!! Hopefully they will make the game much more enjoyable and less frustrating as the story was really really great. Also, the modern controls could be used well here.
Not some of the bugs but basically entirely working like original with new graphics and controls slapped on top. They only fixed minor bugs, but even those were fixed in original games engines, not specific to HD modes. TR4 and 5 are likely the same. You see them switching graphics in trailer. AoD looks to be a different case.
I wasn't even sure about 4 and 5, so all of this was very surprising to me, but especially Angel of Darkness, which feels completely unreal! I'm so excited to see how they'll handle remastering it. There are so many questions about that game in particular that I can't wait to get answers for.

I had a feeling they were gonna remastered these games and now its finally gonna come true. I can't wait especially AOD and Lara is a badass in that one with here serious angry voice.
Lara is so badass and sassy in those games, I love her 😂 Jonell Elliot adds so much attitude to her.
I’m definitely looking forward to properly playing chronicles and the last revelation, but AOD is definitely the one I’m most curious/worried about. I’m sure the game will be patched and optimized as well as the controls being overhauled but it’s the rest of the game I’m interested to see what they do with.
Like for example Kurtis Trent’s far see ability was originally a game mechanic instead of a cutscene, so I wonder if they will restore that. Also speaking of cut content I also wonder what else they’ll be enable to bring back…

Absolutely, I agree completely. I'm a little concerned about how much they can fix within the boundaries of a remaster, but I hope Aspyr can work their magic.

5 is ok and 6 is not my cup of tea but 4 alone sells me on this collection. I just hope Aspyr is able to make a brand-new old-styled Tomb Raider game with classic and modern controls after this.

@@AxMania Exactly, that's what most fans want as well. Keeping it with older engines will allow them to do a game double as expansive as The Last Revelation. If Shovel Knight was a success for bringing back the SNES aesthetic and nostalgia I don't see how new PS1-styled games from an established franchise would fail.
I really thought it's kind of a joke at first, but I'm so glad it's not and I'm so excited for these games to get remastered!!! And by the way - your videos are really great! this is amazing. The last revelation was my first ever tomb raider game I ever played and I am sooooo excited to see this in a new look. Also veryyyy curious to see chronicels and aod. The remaster for 1-3 got me to finally play through the first games and I am so glad I did. Ahhh so happy about all of this yay for the tr community and lara .

24 years ago my mother beat me with a belt when she found out i stay home from school to play tr4 valley of the kings. i remember feelin d belt on my back as soon as i got the jeep. good memories cant wait to replay as an adult.

I'm super excited for these games! After finishing the 1, 2 and 3 Remasters, I dove into these 3 titles and I loved them (AoD being the one I never got to play). Makes me curious to see what QoL improvements Aspyr will be doing to AoD after all of these years.

Looking forward to these. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the first three I was nostalgic but they were always my older brothers games so I didn’t think I’d beat all three. TR2 is one of my favorite games of all time now. Revelations is the last one I remember playing as a kid and I feel like I’m ready now lol

It's insane, because TR4 and TR5 are respectively my top favorite and 2nd favorite Tomb Raider games ever. AoD is incredible, too and I cannot wait to re-visit it. This, to me, is THE release. I am so excited. TR4 remastered, omg omgomgomg.

Really excited about this one. The remasters were very fun for me (especially since I got to play the expansions which I had never tried before, and I went for all the secrets for the first time). On the other hand, I wonder how the new ones will be. AoD was a horrible experience for me when I first tried it a couple of years ago (I dropped it out of disappointment) and TR4 and TR5 don't have expansions, so I won't have that to look forward to. Still, I can do all secrets runs for them all, and hope they'll surprise us with some additional content, and maybe some fixes for AoD.
The Last Revelation has the weird little Times Exclusive level, so maybe that will be included? I hope so!

As someone that never had a chance to play through IV & AOD, I am so so thrilled! Running these on Steam was such a headache. Considering how incredible TRRI-III turned out, I have so much faith and trust in Aspyr to absolutely nail this. Cannot wait to see how this turns out. I'm still speechless!!!

This makes me really happy, since I lost interest in the Tomb Raider games after TR IV as a kid/teenager. So this is a perfect opportunity to catch up. Although I have to admit: I mostly played through the remastered versions with the older graphics, while only switching to the new look when I arrived in a new section for example. It just felt right, but this might only be me and my nostalgic love for the old games. With this in mind, the availability on Switch and hassle-free installation is actually what I am looking forward to the most.
One thing we need right now is a phisical media with all 6 games.

I’m incredibly thankful that these devs gave another chance for Angel of Darkness! Now more people can experience this game with better controls and bugs fixes , and hopefully more people can appreciate it more and see how underneath all the bugs and crap controls there’s a hidden gem !

Happy we have all the Core design classics remastered. I've started the series with TR4 on ps1 back in 1999 as a kid, later played AOD on ps2. I now finished the first one (remastered on pc) and going through the rest. Can't wait to revisit Angkor Wat in HD!

TR4 and 5 were my first full TR games, so these two have a special place in my heart. And TR6 was the one Steam refund I regretted after realizing mods existed, lol. So excited to see all 3 getting remastered (and hopefully fixed).
Been modding TR1-3R to feel more like TR4+ to maximize my nostalgia. I'm still missing a few weapons (and I suck at 3D modeling), and I'm having some trouble with porting the audio from the original PC ports. Hopefully, this remaster would make things easier, heh.
Oh, that's really cool! I've always felt that The Last Revelation and Chronicles were the peak of the classic Tomb Raider games in terms of graphics.

I was expecting TR4 and TR5 remasters to happen at some point... but I wasn’t expecting AOD in a slightest! Similarly to you I thought it was more of a remake material, so it was quite a surprise! I'm very excited!
Considering that the first remasters had some of the bugs of the originals, I certainly hope that's not going to be the case for AOD. I'm very much looking forward to playing it without frustration.

I am very curious about that too!! Hopefully they will make the game much more enjoyable and less frustrating as the story was really really great. Also, the modern controls could be used well here.
Not some of the bugs but basically entirely working like original with new graphics and controls slapped on top. They only fixed minor bugs, but even those were fixed in original games engines, not specific to HD modes. TR4 and 5 are likely the same. You see them switching graphics in trailer. AoD looks to be a different case.
I wasn't even sure about 4 and 5, so all of this was very surprising to me, but especially Angel of Darkness, which feels completely unreal! I'm so excited to see how they'll handle remastering it. There are so many questions about that game in particular that I can't wait to get answers for.
