“Toy Story 2” has a bit more historical significance, if you think about it. Most animated sequels would be released DTV with the type of cheap budget expected from films of that caliber. But the fact that Pixar had the audacity to continue production and think on a grander, cinematic scale is a testament to how the studio was willing to push boundaries. “TS2” not only solidified Pixar as an innovation-driven, critically lauded titan of the computer animation industry, but assured audiences that Pixar was no one-hit-wonder. They had future staying power and would set a standard for animated sequels to live up to. I feel like Toy Story 1 and 2 fit as a pair while Toy Story 3 and 4 fit as a pair. All 4 of them together don’t work so well as a series with all the additional characters and tone changes, but I do think the similarities between these two pairs make sense.

@@lightyagami1058 not really. The only thing that 4 reexamines is 3, and even then, it doesnt do a good job because changes the theme of the message of 3 in a way that doesn't make sense or work for the franchise.
I didn't know it was a reference either when I was a kid but still managed to find it funny. I think it's either because my parents got a big laugh out of it or because of Buzz's "NOOOOOOO!" being over the top. Most likely a mix of both.
I love both movies pretty much equally, but at the end of the day, I'm a sucker for the side characters interacting, and by separating woody from the gang at the get go in 2, forces these side characters to interact and this is where their personality's really shine through. Prospector's "wise old man" eske wisdom, T-Rex and his obsession with video games, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head's relationship and adopting children into their family, the goodbye scene from the rooftop to buzz and his gang to go save woody, Jessie's energetic nature and so much more. Being able to see all of the characters react in their own ways to the same reaction made it feel more fun and enjoyable overall.
Yes! I love this take. The two plots going on between Woody and the new gang, and the side characters rescuing him from Al, really kept me invested, and each one’s tone served as a nice break from the other’s.
I've got to say, I kind of liked the side characters' performances in the first the best, largely because Woody spends a bit more time with them - each of them kind of embody a different reaction to authority from the bitter, resentful Potatohead to the loyal, devoted Slinky, to the kind of cynical jiber, Hamm to the spinelessly yielding Rex. Beyond that, they basically got reduced to party-members who each contribute their own special skills, which, don't get me wrong, was tons of fun, but 1 pretty uniquely had something interesting in the characters' personalities by not having them always all on the same page. And then in the 4th, they were basically reduced to a peanut gallery. Le sigh.
My family has a huuuuge soft spot for TS2 since my dad was a memorabilia collector. We saw the intricacies of that kind of stuff day to day and he was able to rattle off obscure facts like crazy. We always have loved the movie because “dad’s the bad guy”
Fun Fact: John Lasseter was a collecter and he had all sorts of old toys and his kids would play with them and he would say don't touch that you'll break it. That's why they made the Collecter.
As a daycare teacher, 3 makes me upset at so many turns lmao “Ummm why is no one watching these toddlers We interact more than just lunch and recess Recess is not the only planned activity of the day” Like none of them have talked to a teacher before making this movie?
This is kinda the same way I feel about the touch tank scene in Finding Dory. Where’s the volunteer working the pool? Why aren’t they telling the visitors proper touching strategies? Why didn’t they cycle out the obviously hyper stressed animals?!

Who likes a video where it’s all one sided? Edit: I like 3 a bit more than 2. I think 2 & 3 are the best of the franchise but I think 3 just had a more exciting ending on top of it being an emotional conclusion for Andy’s story. 2 is also very good and better at the emotional level than 3 but 3’s ending just hit home for me more ultimately.
Yeah I know what you mean I feel like Toy Story 3 would have been a great finale for the franchise that's why I song People how wonder why they need to make Toy Story 4 now I'm not saying Toy Story 4 was bad and all it was a good film but did we really need it

I LOVE the adventure/rescue aspect of TS2, so many memorable setpieces that make clever use of the movie's main concept: the road-crossing, the toy shop, the elevator shaft, and LORD the baggage terminal is still so freaking cool all these years later.
The ONLY Toy Story movie that’s ultimately superfluous is Toy Story 4. It’s a good movie, but it was honestly unnecessary. Toy Story 2, on the other hand, is the funniest and sweetest of the original three.
To me, Toy Story 4 suceeded where Toy Story 3 fails by being way more focused on its core theme. (TS3 is supposed to be about moving on and letting go but the vast majority of its plot is taken up by an oligarch villain with not really sensical motivation. TS4 in the other hand spends a /lot/ of time examining many different aspects of being a toy without an owner)

Why do I feel like this is that kind of opinion that gets the film community to react like that part in Tangled where everyone points their swords at Eugene?
This movie still has a warm place In my heart, especially Jessie's Song and truly miss my childhood at times. Why I still wish they could've made an actual animated series of Woody's Roundup while eating my favourite bowl of Cowboy Crunchies! Xp Did ya also know that some of the Instrumental Inspired The Loud House's usual Instrumentals during Lincoln and his sisters' usual schemes and shenanigans, every time y'hear that violin play, cause I can't be the only one! Forgot to also mentioned this In my Toy Story 4's review that; even If Bo herself would truly risked her own life jsut to save Woody or almost went head to head with Buzz just alittle what difference would It make for her to still stand out to be her own Femme Fatale of the gang we know today or an alternative scene were she actually could've got broken differently without the whole "being separate" thing. I could jsut be me or thought differently as a kid cause I really did love Bo as a kid and moved on ever since but doesn't mean she still deserved alittle better back then In my opinion anyway.
Jessie’s song was the only part about Toy Story 2 that I liked (much less loved). I thought the toys crossing the street in cones was really corny and I think the whole Zurg arc was contrived and in some ways irritating. Also, Al creeps me out a whole lot
Honestly, I really don't like Bo Peep in Toy Story 4. She's super cynical and snarky, and pretty much mean to Woody the whole time until the end when she finally decides to like him after he pretty much gives up his religion and abandons his family for her. I don't mind the idea of her being mean itself, as it has that snarky edge that Woody has in the first film and sort of in 2, but it makes her seem really annoying and ungrateful, and feels out of character for her based on her role in the first two. Even if she became more independent, it doesn't feel like she would just become a jerk like that. And they didn't even have her character grow over the years and years she was out of the picture, they made her just as tough and decisive in the flashback, instead of being meek and letting her journey change her.
Personally, I don't believe in ranking any of the Toy Story films. They're all consistent in high quality to me and I can always feel a sense of utmost care and passion gone into their overall craftsmanship. At least that's my opinion.
i agree that likeable calmer woody in 2 is preferable..i m so sick of the edgy quirky egocentric liar reveal selfish main character trope...its getting old
While I personally feel that Toy Story 3 is the best of the movies, I think Toy Story 2 is still amazing in its own right. But regardless of which one I think is the best, I just love all 4 of them period.
To me, Toy Story 2 has always been subjectively and objectively the better movie. Both have great cohesion and themes, but Toy Story 2 tackles them a bit better. I don't think it's that controversial actually. I think people just think about the ending of 3, and though it is a very good scene, they don't really judge the rest of the film. By all means, Toy Story 3 is still one of the best Pixar films. It still tackles the questions it tries to handle very well. But Toy Story 2, raises those questions in a higher and more respective regard, and overall makes the morals of this movie subtle, but excellent. Also, Toy Story 2 made a more general impact on me than 3. I feel like Jessie's song is still better than 3's ending, though to be honest, by a sliver. The Prospector, in my opinion, is better than Waternoose, the Prospector's plans are already clearly revealed at the start, but at the willingness, he puts towards that goal, makes him a more menacing villain. Toy Story 2, though not my favorite Pixar movie (that being the Incredibles), has been the one that has had the most emotional resonance with me, and has stuck with me the longest. Toy Story 3, I feel, is a bit better with pacing, though 2 is still really good with its pacing too. My personal ranking would be: 1. 2 2. 3 3. 4 4. 1 But thank you for making this video Cellspex. Really entertaining.
I distinctly remember adoring Toy Story 2 because I loved Jessie so much. Also her previous kids room. I was.. a horse girl. It made me sad to see Jessie's previous kid throw away and get rid of all her horse stuff. Also I just really loved Jessie. But when it comes into comparisons with the two of them, I liked the entirety of Toy Story 2, but I cannot say the same about 3. Sure, there were parts I liked, like Barbie, but overall I very much prefer 2.
I totally understand that whole “toy story 2 came out first for me” because as a kid I straight up didn’t know the first ice age existed for like 5 years because I watched the second one first
I think I'd still love Toy Story 3 the best IF we never got a Toy Story 4. But with "Toy Story 4", it sort of undoes some of the emotional weight of saying goodbye, especailly since we find out Bonnie is a heartless monster(lol, I kid, but seriously....) PS:You drew me in with that product placement, that was...that was sneaky.
Toy Story 3 is still good and i try to forget Toy Story 4 even happened. to me that movie does not excist so its still a Trilogy and the ending of that trilogy was perfect. and yes, Bonnie is the Real Villain of Toy Story 4.
@@netabolt6546 Bonnie is not the villain, she's not the same child as Andy that's why she acts differently. What worked for Woody in the past, doesn't work anymore. Not every child plays with their toys like Andy, look at what the toddlers did to Buzz, Jessie and other toys at Sunnyside in Toy Story 3 or what Sid did to Combat Carl in the first Toy Story movie.
@@jerelminter i guess youre right, i have no backup for my statement. i was just still angry at this movie and wanted to express that in the comment, lol. i guess Bonnie is too young to handle her toys like Andy did, because Andy was eight years old in the first movie. so i have no other choise to take it back what i said and you were absolutely right.
@@netabolt6546 Andy was 6 in the first Toy Story movie, the second one is a year later so he was 7. The third movie takes place 10 years later because according to Mr. Potato Head, he's 17 years old.
The “gods” reading has always been a mostly stupid way of interpreting these movies. While some points can be argued pretty well, the movies themselves have always been about attachment. Be aware, that these are how I see them: 1st movie is about putting your relationship with someone you care about above others relationships with that same person. The 2nd one is about the fear of abandonment, and if you should give up on something just because it will eventually end. The 3rd one feels like a mixture of 2’s theme with the added benefit that it will end, and soon. I think it’s more about coming to terms with things, though. Like how Lotso never came to terms with the fact that his owner genuinely loved him, and that she never meant to leave them. It’s a plot mirror to how the toys assumed they were already thrown out, and moved on without letting Andy move on, which left them all upset.
I feel like Jessie's song/arc was more emotional and impactful. She clearly has some form of trauma and PTSD from being abandoned and left in a box. I feel like Toy Story 3's ending was trying too hard to tug at the heartstrings, call me heartless. Jessie's character and issues were more relatable to me.
My favorite behind-the-scenes tidbit about Toy Story 2: According to the film's DVD commentary, Geri painting over Andy's name on Woody's boot caused audiences to audibly gasp in some screenings. As someone who was _in_ the audience for this film in a theater once as a kid, I can confirm this.
Personally I prefer 3, but I am 100% aware that it is because of a personal attachment to it. I remember 13 year old me acting as if I didn’t want to see it because I thought I was too old for it. But secretly I really wanted to watch it. Then when me and my family went to see it, as soon as the film had ended, I had to run out of the theater to hide the fact that the movie’s ending made me ball my eyes out.
@@blazer3756 I was a dumb 13 year old who thought cartoons where dumb things for kids. Do you think I’d would have cared about their reputation. I was an ass back then and now I almost exclusively watch cartoons (also Pixar is awesome!)

@@andrewbie8125 lmao Toy Story 3 is the one that uses nostalgia in loo of plot. The like number one complaint I've seen about TS4 is that it didn't do various fan service things like include as many old characters prominently or give them the ending they "need cause Woody and Buzz belong together"
@@andrewbie8125 to be fair tho even with its flaws you can't ignore the good things about it like it's anmation best anmation of all 3 of the movies the plot was surprisingly alright and I was wondering what would happen next even tho the jokes were hit or miss I really found myself enjoying the movie and the ending was just great and a great ending to franchise
Fun fact: In TS2, when Buzz gives his speech to the others and an American flag shows up in the background, Pixar actually took the time to animate a World Globe spinning and replace the flag in that scene for the international versions of the film
TS2 was the first movie I ever saw in a theater when I was almost five years old, by the time TS3 came out my sister was finishing high school and on her way to college so 3 was significant at the time in our family. Too bad the same can't be said when my time came to transition to college and I got Monsters University. 2 was lightning in a bottle, it probably helped that that Pixar spent only a year reworking the film to make it the best it could be. I could easily watch 1 & 2 back to back and love both equally. I can't quite say the same about 3 and especially 4. So I would rank the series 2,1,3,4. TS4 is by no means terrible, but it ruined 3's perfect ending and made the shorts and specials after 3 pointless. If people like Animat can enjoy 4 on the same level, good on them. I'm glad they found enjoyment. For me, the last Toy Story was the special The Toy Story Time Forgot. So overall, TS2 FTW.
3:13 That’s why I’m keeping my old Wii and games for when it’ll cost hundreds, if not thousands, and for nostalgia too, I guess. And what you said before that part, I agree. I remember we had a couple of Toy Story, well, toys that my mum and my siblings and I felt very nostalgic towards since we loved the movies when we were younger and I used to bring my Jessie doll mostly everywhere I went for awhile. My mum never could bring herself to donate them until recently since my dad likes clearing out anything that we didn’t use or play with anymore, mainly trying to keep the house clean, and my mum just thought it was time for them to go. (Or she sent them down to my younger cousins, can’t remember.) I don’t think the whole ‘growing up’ thing has to mean you have to get rid of your old toys and games and basically everything from your childhood just because you’re becoming an adult. Everyone just has to face no matter how serious or mature you act, we all are at least a bit of a child-at-heart.
I recently rewatched the original Toy Story trilogy and I have to say, I think Toy Story 2 might be my favorite of the three. It built on the characters the original introduced while bringing in new ones that felt like they belonged from the beginning, had memorable sequences like the opening, Al's Toy Barn, and Jesse's tear jerking backstory (seriously, this was my Mufasa moment) and a compelling story about making the most out of life in the time you have. Plus I think it had Buzz at his peak level as leader of the Woody rescue mission
7:00 Oh my gosh, I haven't watched either of the two movies in forever and I can still feel exactly what you're talking about. Line deliveries stick with me really strongly and I watched 2 so much as a kid, Andy's delivery was burned into my subconscious. In comparison, Woody's never had a chance in my eyes, but even so it's significantly flatter than the original line.
Ever since I saw Toy Story 2 as a kid, my main theory about Woody to this day is that he was Andy's grandfather's toy first, then Andy's Dad's toy, then finally Andy's, and that's why Andy favored him so much that in 3 he was extremely hesitant to let him go.
Me watching the video: Cell "Neat" *insters hellsing/hellsing ultamate clip* me: "OH MY GOD THE ANAMIE WHICH REALLY SHOULDNT OF BEEN MY FRESHMEN OF HIGHSCHOOL CHILDHOOD BUT STILL IS"
Deluded Buzz was a good running joke - until Toy Story 4 ran it into the ground...also, Toy Story 4 completely craps all over the ending of 3, which makes that ending *worthless* - but not the leadup with Andy's mom.
@@eatatjoes6751 Idk I mostly find it a cheaper joke that is the exact same that the last two movies already used. There's some creativity in the button thing, and kind of a fun confusion about what a conscience is. Also he may be acting stupid but at least he's not ERASED. And I just find the romance stuff with him absolutely cringy. Neither are necessary to the plot and I don't mind the button smashing, but I find it weird to say that that's the point where the Buzz being dumb joke was run into the ground.
Seriously, the way Toy Story 2 intertwined Woody & Buzz’s stories and exploring their backgrounds and origins was so perfectly executed it blows my mind.
I agree so much with all of this! I was an adult when the first movie came out, so I don't have the attachment to Andy like younger viewers might. And not only was 2 emotionally stronger, it was just about the time I was doing a lot of buying and selling on ebay of certain toy lines, so the collector just cracked me up every time it was on screen.
Agreed, Toy Story 2 will always be my favorite. I also relate a lot more to the Jesse scene now that I’m older and my friends have come and gone. I think that part is more universally relatable, whereas the ending of 3 is only really deeply relatable if you’re a parent or the kind of person who gives away all their old stuff as they get older (neither of which I am).
Omg Jessie's song made me cry when I was little. Idk about Lion King death, I was derpy and didn't understand the story at all when I was little. Now I wanna revisit Toy Story 2. Thank you. :>
This isn't from a nostalgic pov, but Toy Story 2 is just so much fun to watch. For being rushed, they made one of the best movies of all time. Top 10 best movies, Toy Story 3 is up there
I appreciate these arguments, and can totally understand them. For me, TS3 still wins though, all things considered. The darker tone; the flip of Sunnyside going from this bright, welcoming place to an oppressive, hostile one; the homage to prison escape films; and of course, the pitch-perfect emotional conclusion to wrap up both the movie AND the trilogy are elements that are all so wonderfully brilliant and creatively executed to me. TS3 is one of those animated movies that does everything I love most in animation: it doesn’t talk down to kids by assuming they can’t handle mature emotional subjects or intense moments; it is very enjoyable for adults BECAUSE it is more mature; and it employs solid cinematic craftsmanship, by way of good directing and writing, to deliver its story in the most effective way. In other words, it elevates itself beyond the standard notion of animation as “kids’ fare,” and just tries to be a great film that can stand alongside any acclaimed live-action movie. The Incredibles and Ratatouille do this, and that’s why they’re my other favorite animated movies. TS3 does the same: it doesn’t just try to be a great “animated,” film, it tries to be a great film, period.
I hadn’t seen star war so the “I am your father” line confused me. Then when I first saw Empire my mind was like “ohhh that that’s where that from”. Kinda killed the mood because it spoiled the twist for me.
Interesting, because I'm scaled up a bit from you, being a cynical teen at the release of 2, and watching 3 at an age of a parent who's kids had been giving up their childhood toys. I've always thought 2 was meh, and 3 made me bawl like a baby.
I remember my family and I seeing Toy Story 3 in the cinema in 2010, I think I felt something way more in a PIXAR movie from that day on and ever since. When it was released on DVD, my lil bro and I would not stop begging our mom to let us watch it over and over again, and she was getting annoyed lol! This shows that movies as great as Toy Story will always have a place in your heart, from young to old
I wouldn't have thought that this would be a controversial opinion. To me, Toy story 2 and 3 are the gems of the series, and it would be very difficult for me to pick one over the other. They are both amamzing films imo. Toy Story 3 gets me in the feels more, but I also found myself very interested in the plot of Toy story 2 throughout the entire movie despite the fact it didn't really get me on the edge of my seat, whereas Toy Story 3 has some parts I found less engaging that just needed to be there to support later parts of the film. Not gonna lie, Jessie's backstory never really gripped me, but I think I liked Toy Story 2 so much still because that was when the characters really started to feel like very likeable and real people. My hot take tho, I appreciate that the spectacle of it at the time is a thing, but I really think Toy Story 1 is a very... eh... film. I found just about everyone except Slinky far less likeable and interesting as characters, especially compared to 2. I haven't seen 4, so I can't make a judgement about it, but from what I've heard it sounds ok.
Won't spoil anything but I actually prefer 4 out of all of them, but not because the first three films were bad but it sort of does the first three films all at once when it comes to its thematic structure. I don't think its critics quite grasped what it was trying to say.
As somebody who went down a mass toy story rabbithole fueled by the discovery of the TRAGICALLY obscure Buzz Lightyear of Star Command cartoon, I gotta say, AGREED. I just.... Two is *BEAUTIFUL* in how it flips the narrative journey from the first one, going from Buzz needing to ultimately seperate his identity from his franchise, to Woody becoming smitten with a legacy he'd never known, never before even considering that *HE,* a humble cowboy, could have a remarkable history. It works so well, putting Buzz in Woody's exact position from the first movie, being the one to bring him back down to earth. He even repeats Woody's EXACT mantra, "You are a toy."!!! *BEAUTIFUL*
Leading up to the release of Toy Story 4 last year, my brother and I watched the first three movies plus the shorts back to back for four days. Before then I had stated that Toy Story 3 was my favorite, but after the marathon, I can say with certainty that Toy Story 2 is much better and my favorite in the series.
I remember one time when I was little I was feeling sick so I decided to watch Toy Story 2 *3 times in one day* It was just as good every time Also I didn’t like Toy Story 3 because the monkey guy scared me
I’ve always preferred 2. 3 kind of feels like a retread of parts of 2. I really like Jessie and the Prospector. I find him more intimidating than Lotso 😂 But also I really like Barbie and Ken in Toy Story 3. Maybe it’s just my bias because I’m a collector and loved all the references, but I thought they were a really cute duo and were super funny.
Toy Story: A classic for generations to come Toy Story 2: A sequel that surprised everyone and showed how much Pixar cared about their characters, great movie. Toy Story 3: Not really necessary, but good. Thematically it shows us stuff that Toy Story 2 made us imagine, so there's a lack of original spark here. Great ending, anyway, and it is enjoyable throughout - just gets into CGI porn territory at times. Toy Story 4: dErp we made toyz 4
why would anyone feel the need to complain that the incredibles wasn't high enough on the pixar list when it was literally 3rd? the incredibles would be my number 1 pick but I'm not complaining. some people really need to grow up.
TT 2 is a favorite for sure. I can't really decide which of the 3 movies first movies I like more, as I keep going back and forth, but 2 surely introduces one of the best characters in a sequal
I have a weird history with the Toy Story series. I watched the first one as a kid in school and I (as well as anyone I knew) liked it. I watched Toy Story 2 and liked it but I didn't own a DVD copy so I didn't see again for years. The movie was good enough that I remembered the highlights (particularly the I am your Father Joke because I was and still am a huge Star Wars nerd) but there was a lot of stuff in the movie I forgot about which I think is why I never connected with it as much as everyone else did. Toy Story 3 I enjoyed just like the other movies but what I think was important was that it was the only one in the series my family had on DVD so I could watch it and enjoy it a lot more. And yeah the ending was bittersweet. So, anyway, I've always preferred 3 over 2 but I think it was just because I watched and therefore connected with 3 a lot more than 2. I recently watched 2 again on Disneyplus and definitely appreciated it a lot more than I did when I was younger. Just for the record, I was born in the early 2000s and I didn't see any of the Toys Story movies in theatres so I think that also effected how much I enjoyed the movies.
My mom always talks about Toy Story with wonder in her eyes and I think people born around and after it forget how impactful and impressive it was for people at the time to see something so different compared to what animation had produced before and I was also a child when Toy Story 2 came out and loved it so much Jessie’s story was so impactful even seeing the dust pilled up untouched around her still moves me to my core
These are some bold claims! Personally I like Toy Story 3 better but I completely understand liking 2 more. Both are some of the best animated movies I've ever seen. Saying one masterpiece is better than another is nothing I will lose sleep over.

I didn't know it was a reference either when I was a kid but still managed to find it funny. I think it's either because my parents got a big laugh out of it or because of Buzz's "NOOOOOOO!" being over the top. Most likely a mix of both.
I only got it because my older brother explained it.

Toy Story 2 is the best Toy Story movie absolutely
YES!!!
Hell yeah!
The first one In my opinion
3 is just the plot recycled and mixed the great escape...its not better
In my opinion I prefer the 3rd but thats cool
I love that.
Fun Fact: John Lasseter was a collecter and he had all sorts of old toys and his kids would play with them and he would say don't touch that you'll break it. That's why they made the Collecter.
“Hello, Jerry-I mean, Andy!”
As a daycare teacher, 3 makes me upset at so many turns lmao
“Ummm why is no one watching these toddlers
We interact more than just lunch and recess
Recess is not the only planned activity of the day”
Like none of them have talked to a teacher before making this movie?
This is kinda the same way I feel about the touch tank scene in Finding Dory. Where’s the volunteer working the pool? Why aren’t they telling the visitors proper touching strategies? Why didn’t they cycle out the obviously hyper stressed animals?!
I'm not even a Kindergarten teacher, nor do I personally know any, and _even I_ was asking "where's the adult who's supposed to be supervising during all this?"
Kinda has a Dreamworks-esque vibe of total ridiculous chaos
“This ended up being a lot fairer than I expected.”
That’s why I love your videos. Even when you set out to make a point, you bring up the positives of both sides of the argument.
Me too.

Lotso did have a motive. He was bitter about being replaced sbd took it out on the toys of sunshine
@@zemox2534 Yeah but it doesn't make sense. He doesn't like children cause he thinks they'll replace you yet he allows himself to be played with and forbids others from doing it. I just see zero connection between his behaviour and his backstory.

This movie still has a warm place In my heart, especially Jessie's Song and truly miss my childhood at times. Why I still wish they could've made an actual animated series of Woody's Roundup while eating my favourite bowl of Cowboy Crunchies! Xp
Did ya also know that some of the Instrumental Inspired The Loud House's usual Instrumentals during Lincoln and his sisters' usual schemes and shenanigans, every time y'hear that violin play, cause I can't be the only one!
Rock N' Roll Adventurer like buzz light year of star command
Jessie’s song was the only part about Toy Story 2 that I liked (much less loved). I thought the toys crossing the street in cones was really corny and I think the whole Zurg arc was contrived and in some ways irritating. Also, Al creeps me out a whole lot
The Keegster I disagree
???? Watch the short film lamp life on Disney+ and that might explain a little more why she’s that mean

PipeGuy64Bit toy story 4 will always be shit to me
I view Toy Story 4 as something that didn't need to exist.
My personal ranking would be:
1. 2
2. 3
3. 4
4. 1

But when it comes into comparisons with the two of them, I liked the entirety of Toy Story 2, but I cannot say the same about 3. Sure, there were parts I liked, like Barbie, but overall I very much prefer 2.

@@netabolt6546 Bonnie is not the villain, she's not the same child as Andy that's why she acts differently. What worked for Woody in the past, doesn't work anymore.
Be aware, that these are how I see them:
1st movie is about putting your relationship with someone you care about above others relationships with that same person.
Absolutely agree Toy Story 2 is better. I think it was just a bit more clever and had more fun. 3 relied on nostalgia too much for me

The monkey still gives me childhood PTSD.
Jessie's song still makes me cry whenever I hear it

As a daycare worker I can finally say that “toy massacre” scene with the preschoolers is inaccurate. Toys get roughed up but never to that degree.

"We were alive this whole time!"

My mum never could bring herself to donate them until recently since my dad likes clearing out anything that we didn’t use or play with anymore, mainly trying to keep the house clean, and my mum just thought it was time for them to go. (Or she sent them down to my younger cousins, can’t remember.)
I don’t think the whole ‘growing up’ thing has to mean you have to get rid of your old toys and games and basically everything from your childhood just because you’re becoming an adult.
Ever since I saw Toy Story 2 as a kid, my main theory about Woody to this day is that he was Andy's grandfather's toy first, then Andy's Dad's toy, then finally Andy's, and that's why Andy favored him so much that in 3 he was extremely hesitant to let him go.

I just.... It works so well, putting Buzz in Woody's exact position from the first movie, being the one to bring him back down to earth. He even repeats Woody's EXACT mantra, "You are a toy."!!!

I remember one time when I was little I was feeling sick so I decided to watch Toy Story 2 *3 times in one day*
It was just as good every time
Also I didn’t like Toy Story 3 because the monkey guy scared me
Everytime i see this video in my recommended it has a new title, i feel like when i next see it it's going to be different too
Haven't even watched and I'm already saying "Yes, you're absolutely right"
3:13 Yes. I'm 22 and I don't really play with toys anymore. I might keep a few around to decorate my desk. And I play with them when I babysit.
Toy Story: A classic for generations to come
Toy Story 2: A sequel that surprised everyone and showed how much Pixar cared about their characters, great movie.
Hey, when are you going to release the ranking every animated movie in a year for 2010 - 2014?
For 2014 The LEGO Movie has to be in the top 2
How dare you with that ad placement
That transition was so smooth
¡FINALLY, someone say it!

I like how she just pretends like 4 just didn’t exist
As we all should
@@cordyceps7531 yes. Toy Story 4 shall be locked in hell to infinity and beyond where it will never see the light of day or be watched ever again.
Me too.
