    0:03 - How to Transit without going through immigration & custom
    Travellers who have their baggage checked-through, for example booking is made with the same airline under a single PNR, can transit in the airport without the need to go through immigration.

    0:14 - If you do not have the boarding pass for your onward flight
    -----------------
    Check the location of your airline's Transfer Counter. Zones A and B are in Terminal 1; Zones C and D are in Terminal 2.
    -After getting off the plane, transferring travelers may follow the signage or get assistance from ground staff to the transfer counter to complete transfer procedures and get the boarding pass.
    -Then Go through security inspections.
    -Proceed to departures on the third floor to board the connecting flight.
    0:55 - If you already have a boarding pass for your onward flight

    you can go straight through security control. Follow the direction signs to the departures which is located on the third floor.
    Please check your boarding gate number and flight departure time, and arrive at your boarding gate at least 30 minutes before departure.
    1:12 - If you are transferring between Terminal 1 to Terminal 2

    go to the Skytrain platform beside the transfer lounge, Ride the Skytrain to Terminal 2. Go to the transfer counter in Zone C or D of Terminal 2 to check in for your onward flight. Go through security control on the 2nd floor (2F), then proceed to your boarding gate on the 3rd floor.

    Thank you for sharing the transfer information, I will be flying from Bangkok to Taipei for transferring back to LA, my friend asked me to get Sunny Hills pineapple cake, I tried to search for the info, some of them stated it’s unable to get it for transferring flight, would like to see whether you have this info, thank you in advance for or if you could share!

      Yes usually you don't need to go through immigration without checked luggage.

    Hi, thank you for the video. However I wonder if its possible in the transfer desk the airline agent can pull up my bag and check through onwards flight? In my case I have different PNR, first flight with Cathay Pacific, second flight with Starlux.

      Hi, usually with different PNR the bags cannot be sent to the final destination.

    If you check in your bag at the LAX, then don't they send it to the destination? that you don't need to claim the bag at the layover in TPE and check in again? I'll be flying to ICN Korea via EVA, layover in TPE soon. I took another flight some years ago and I vaguely remember they sent the checked bag to ICN that I didn't need to do anything at TPE. I wonder if things have changed since then.

      hi, if the flights are booked on a single ticket/ booking, then the baggage will be checked through to the final destination.

    When flights booked under dif PNR, do i need to fill out an arrival card, and what should I mention in the residential address in Taiwan? the airport address? Thank you

      Hi if you need to go through immigration, as I know, arrival card is required. You can just put "Transit".

    Can i leave the airport and explore taiwan if i have a 9hr layover before my next flight to incheon? I'm flying from sfo(US citizen) to incheon but have a 9hr layover in TPE.

    Hi I have one hour transit at Taipei airport coming from San Francisco to Bangkok by China air. if my flight is on time do you think in one hour can I be able to catch my flight to Bangkok ?

    What if I’m arriving on Starlux from the US and departing on EVA to the Philippines? Do I need to go through immigration?

      It depends on whether you have to collect your baggage and re-checkin for your connecting flight.

    Do you need to go through border control like mainland China if you are on transit flight? Connecting flight only 2 hours and I find China border time consuming

      Usually with flights booked under a single PNR, you don't need to go through border control during transit.

      Hi, if your flights are under a single PNR/ ticket, your baggage is checked-through and you don't have to pass immigration, yes.

    Hi so I’m a US citizen with just a US Passport and I have to flight through TPE airport to get to Manila Philippines will I need a Transit Visa?

      Hi, If you wish to enter Taiwan as a tourist or short-term visitor (less than 90 days), you do not need a visa.

      Hi, Nationals of Philippines (effective till July 31, 2024), are eligible for the visa exemption program, with a duration of stay of up to 14 days.

      Hi, to pass through immigration, Taiwan requires a passport with remaining validity of at least six months as of the date of entry
