Very nice job! FYI: If you tear the straight edges off the tissue paper before you put it up, you'll avoid the box look you spoke of since the two edges butting up against each other will be torn paper instead, You can use the straight edge where the paper meets the ceiling, floor, and corners though. I had done this many year's ago and came back for a refresher as this home I'm in now has terrible plaster walls in need of covering. Off to the paint store I go! Thanks again!
I'm here for a refresher too. I forgot about the "rip into pieces" part of the crinkle. I put a glaze over mine because I did the tissue in a bathroom. It held up nicely.
@@NolomEbal44560 That's good to know it held up. I have a bathroom in need of coverage so that's much! I've avoided doing this because of steam so good go know it can work.
@@cassianaphillips3665 You're lucky! I still have some. "Color Place Interior Latex Faux Finish Glaze Clear. Ideal for Color Washing, Dragging, Ragging & Sponging.
Then this 10 years ago in my living room. The wall still looks fantastic! The only thing I did different is I kept tapping on it a little more and then I'd wipe it a few times with a flat hand different directions. I did use a roller paint those are much faster. When you put the paint on top of the tissue paper with the roller paint different directions. Make sure you overlap all edges and make sure it's wet underneath on all edges. I used rounds in my colors. The brown that I used with the glaze. You put it on and wipe it off. It really looks like leather I love it
Awesome 👍 blessings to you and your family also ..am proud of when a lady does so Many beautiful inspiration thing's and many projects like this one for example..I have done this but in bottles pots and newspaper art... LOVE you 😘 girl and Jesus Christ Love's you more... thank you for your time and help
I have a room with some nasty plaster walls. This is perfect! Every video I've watched with tissue paper is complicated and involves glazes and several steps. Thanks!!
'Glazes' - ugh! Your right; kinda have to be a master DIY'ER to do some of 'em - if you follow them. This is something even I could do. Yay! I haven't tried it before but, saw a lady apply FABRIC to her walls with liquid starch (years ago) & you only had to wet it to remove it. She didn't use any other chemicals & no paint. Hmm. I just moved to a new place & your idea seems easy too. Thank ya darlin!!
Nice!! I love this effect. bet if you used taupe, it would give it an 'old world' look. I don't own my home so I can't take that liberty...if I ever do, I want this effect! Good job, and, your nails still looked fabulous when you were done. 👏👏👏
i just stumbled on this-amazing. i wish i had this video 10 years ago! When I had to repair drywall in my bedroom. I ended up doing a plaster effect- with plaster. So it cost alot more.
Just stumbled upon your tissue-wallpaper! Wonderful!!! I live in a 100+-year-old home, so it has some horrible plaster walls. The specific one I'm going to use this technique on is really horrible with plaster not matching up, etc. so I will be using this technique on that nasty wall and make it a feature wall. Thank you so very much!!
Hi there, I was looking to make a background for my DIY shoot. I generally do it out- door, but monsoon is approaching and I thought of looking for an alternative to do my videos indoor. I am planning to do this on chart and roll it up after use
Hello Fern Love this effect...I am going to attempt to try this...Can you please post a picture of how it looks now after a couple years on your walls? How did it hold up? Have the edges of the tissue paper ever showed through? Thx for your response~Sheral
Hahahah, i did have paint on my clothes those are my paint clothing...lol but i do paint in my home a lot and rarely get to much paint on me. That’s funny u took notice, sorry but had to lol . Thnx.
would it not be cheaper to use hodge podge.. glue to tack down the tissue paper, then paint over. Paint is so expensive here. I did a textured wall years ago with powder filler.. mixed it up and just made designs... not easy.
Hi hmmm, I'll give that a try.the paint I get ..its usually a miss tent it's cheaper. But you want to be sure u like the colors, I'll try hodgepodge and see in future wks or months. I'll figure out something, lol thnx so much.
This is very cool but, I would hate to henthe person to remove it if I wanted to change it up. It reminds .e of old plaster walls. Almost a Venetian plaster look.
Uh-oh- a thought. I can't remember the last time I washed a wall but, all that texture is gonna be a b***h to clean. Oh wait. Use a broom to knock dust, etc. downward. NevaH mind!

Brilliant! I love it. Thank you for sharing.
Brilliant idea. Easy, low cost way to add some texture and "prettify" a wall :).
Very creative and simple! Looks great, love your color choice. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Fern, that's a lovely effect
Reminds me of walls in old buildings in Europe 😁
ooohhh...that's gorgeous honey! In our area, our older houses with plaster walls always need help!
Love, Love, Love! xoxo

Thanks for sharing it looks awesome!
I think using a sprayer would allow for better preservation of the crunchy effect ! This is pretty cool, though ! I love it !

Nice job. I'm doing my living room now. It's a doublewide and the drywall had some warped places and gaps etc. I can't wait to finish.
Me too! (I just moved to a double-wide in good condition in Nov. Luv it!) in Florida (20+ yrs). 55+ place. No dogs. Good luck girl!

Hi that sounds beautiful, thnx you
Just as impressive as your wall is your clean, paint-free, navy blue clothing! How'd you do that?
Hahahah, i did have paint on my clothes those are my paint clothing...lol but i do paint in my home a lot and rarely get to much paint on me. That’s funny u took notice, sorry but had to lol . Thnx.
Good job very creative Love It outside the box :-) LOL
Brilliant idea.
look great, thank you for the tip
brilliant. exactly what i need for a problem wall!
Hi yes I feel its perfect to hide a problem wall I did that to, covered another wall that way thnx 😊
Great idea…I would tear the paper into irregular pieces tho. 👍🏻👍🏻
Great Video... BEAUTIFUL
Question: What was that background
noise?
I’ve done this too, after, I sponged on a different color
Sounds beautiful 😊
Very nice!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Looks very nice, well done!! Only, if anyone would want to change the wall, wouldn't it be a problem?
Frig em' Do the sheetrock over.
I haven't tried it but I understand you can paint right over it and it won't affect the wrinkles.
Wow TY, gonna try this.
pretty cool!!
genius. love it.
LOVE IT 💖

❤
Nice!
Where can I buy those tissue paper, it's not available on Amazon
Hi sorry for late reply I get at dollar store thnx
good job
Well done!!!
Tasha Nicole thank you.
Looks so easy compared to elmer's glueing or wallpaper pasting. Skips that step. Sure is worth a try to eliminate those steps. Can't wait to try.
love it

Just needs some family photos and done!
great way to camouflage a flawed wall.
How do you remove this?
Hi I wet the wall with spray bottle and use a flat spatula to get off.thnx u.
Uh-oh- a thought. I can't remember the last time I washed a wall but, all that texture is gonna be a b***h to clean. Oh wait. Use a broom to knock dust, etc. downward. NevaH mind!
That's bad @$$
Way to think out o' the box
Please. I beg you. Quit showing how to do this! A tremendous pain to remove and people looking to buy it who think it is dated!
How do you get it off?! The last owners did this to our kitchen….
Sorry, I used a water base paint so when I wet it it came off easily thnx you
I'm sorry but that trim looks crappy...
Who asked you
That really does look shit !
Nice!
