How to make a recliner platform cheap

This was the best way to make a platform for a low to the floor recliner/massage chair i found some wood marked down on clearance at local Home Depot, then buying a sample paint to finish all under 20.00 dollars.

How To Enhance Walls With Tissue Paper
Thank you so much, that is the perfect solution for my bedrooms. Does it last long?
In my neck of the woods, we called it "shiplap" instead of "wainscot." To prevent the recliner from sliding off, I would nail a wooden rim made out of 2 by 2s around the entire perimeter and then place the recliner inside that. Allow for the space it takes up when designing the box, not later.
❤
This was a great video. Good job!
Thanks for this vid! You made making a platform a doable project for me. I like how you present it step by step in clear and easy to follow directions.
Nice!
Great idea…I would tear the paper into irregular pieces tho. 👍🏻👍🏻
Love this
Brilliant idea. Easy, low cost way to add some texture and "prettify" a wall :).
Omg thank you for such a great idea

Where can I buy those tissue paper, it's not available on Amazon
Hi sorry for late reply I get at dollar store thnx
Looks great. I am going to be building a similar one here shortly. Is the chair stable when you recline it?

Thnx you 😊
ooohhh...that's gorgeous honey! In our area, our older houses with plaster walls always need help! Love, Love, Love! xoxo
Thnx you thnx you 😊
Thanks for sharing it looks awesome!
Beautiful !!!!
This is very cool but, I would hate to henthe person to remove it if I wanted to change it up. It reminds .e of old plaster walls. Almost a Venetian plaster look.
Brilliant idea.
Great idea!!! Smart! 💡
Please. I beg you. Quit showing how to do this! A tremendous pain to remove and people looking to buy it who think it is dated!
How do you get it off?! The last owners did this to our kitchen….
Sorry, I used a water base paint so when I wet it it came off easily thnx you
Oh no no. What you do is pour water inside the pot and let it boil. Let it boil for 10 minutes. Let it cool. Then dump water out to a bowl. The machine is clean.
Hi I just saw this I think that’s a great idea ill try that next time. Thank you
That's awesome 👏
Looks very nice
LOVE IT 💖
Very well done presentation Thanks for your time and tutorial Looks great 👍😊
Nice!! I love this effect. bet if you used taupe, it would give it an 'old world' look. I don't own my home so I can't take that liberty...if I ever do, I want this effect! Good job, and, your nails still looked fabulous when you were done. 👏👏👏
i just stumbled on this-amazing. i wish i had this video 10 years ago! When I had to repair drywall in my bedroom. I ended up doing a plaster effect- with plaster. So it cost alot more.
Hi sounds beautiful thnx you 😊
Just stumbled upon your tissue-wallpaper! Wonderful!!! I live in a 100+-year-old home, so it has some horrible plaster walls. The specific one I'm going to use this technique on is really horrible with plaster not matching up, etc. so I will be using this technique on that nasty wall and make it a feature wall. Thank you so very much!!
Good job very creative Love It outside the box :-) LOL
Thank you Fern, that's a lovely effect Reminds me of walls in old buildings in Europe 😁
Awesome 👍 blessings to you and your family also ..am proud of when a lady does so Many beautiful inspiration thing's and many projects like this one for example..I have done this but in bottles pots and newspaper art... LOVE you 😘 girl and Jesus Christ Love's you more... thank you for your time and help
look great, thank you for the tip
Great Video... BEAUTIFUL Question: What was that background noise?
AWESOME
Very nice job! FYI: If you tear the straight edges off the tissue paper before you put it up, you'll avoid the box look you spoke of since the two edges butting up against each other will be torn paper instead, You can use the straight edge where the paper meets the ceiling, floor, and corners though. I had done this many year's ago and came back for a refresher as this home I'm in now has terrible plaster walls in need of covering. Off to the paint store I go! Thanks again!
I'm here for a refresher too. I forgot about the "rip into pieces" part of the crinkle. I put a glaze over mine because I did the tissue in a bathroom. It held up nicely.
@@NolomEbal44560 That's good to know it held up. I have a bathroom in need of coverage so that's much! I've avoided doing this because of steam so good go know it can work.
@@NolomEbal44560what is the glaze called?
@@cassianaphillips3665 You're lucky! I still have some. "Color Place Interior Latex Faux Finish Glaze Clear. Ideal for Color Washing, Dragging, Ragging & Sponging.

Enjoyed.. excellent job.. looks like art.
Great work 👍🏿
Then this 10 years ago in my living room. The wall still looks fantastic! The only thing I did different is I kept tapping on it a little more and then I'd wipe it a few times with a flat hand different directions. I did use a roller paint those are much faster. When you put the paint on top of the tissue paper with the roller paint different directions. Make sure you overlap all edges and make sure it's wet underneath on all edges. I used rounds in my colors. The brown that I used with the glaze. You put it on and wipe it off. It really looks like leather I love it
Very creative and simple! Looks great, love your color choice. Thanks for sharing!
I love the idea of the tissue paper wall. Thank you Fern. You gave me a great idea for a room I want to paint in my house.
